THE WORLD IS GOOD ~ LURCHING TOWARD A CIVILIZED NEW AMERICA ~ HAPPY NEW YEAR

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The world is not ending; it is just beginning.
We are lurching awkwardly out of our growing pains toward "enlightenment" an annoying term.

2013 is going to be a great year. I used to say that we were snowballing toward excess and chaos — but it had to happen this way..  that the insane greed, porn and violence in this country have gone so far over the top that there is only one way to go: UP.  We have made the taboo all too thrilling (and profitable) because of our Puritan ethic. We are a nation of masochists: criticizing each other, shaming each other, chastising each other for our "sins" and lusts —  which helps sales of porn and guns and the "forbidden." Death has become sexier than sex, as I wrote in my article about 'extermination speaker' Ann Coulter, aka "Dragon lady of Hate Speech."

At home December 29, 2012

And we impose so many harsh punishments for innocent mistakes. I just ran out to my car to put another quarter in the meter, in the rain and saw a $53 parking ticket on my car for being THREE MINUTES late. Are we a fascist state?  If this is the kind of government people are against, I'm against it too. But these exhorbitant crimes started with Congress witholding a living wage and proper taxes for the common good. Cities are hungry and desperately imposing higher fines because of the corruption and greed. It all started with a certain trickle down mindset.

Like debauched piggy teenagers speeding toward our own demise, we've seen too much, done too much, been too naked. We've raped, pillaged, invaded, coveted, envied, forced ourselves on nations, started false wars and generally lusted after excess. We praised "selfishness" as a vitue, We made preteens sexy as a form of advertising pedophilia and pretended it was freedom of speech. And everyone blamed the artists for the loose morals of Hollywood, when in fact, it was the opposite: it the people making huge advertising profits by over-sexualizing teens and objectifying the young. It was all about ratings. It has always been about the dollar, the bottom line.

The filmmakers and artists I know loathe homogenized pop culture and are almost allergic to high ratings for ratings sake. NOt fans of the middle, the lowest common denominator or the bell curve, most artists are too sensitive to withstand The Jerry Springer Show. Someone is buying it: lovers of red meat in the modern gladiator forum. The best "liberal" filmmakers like Spielberg, Payne, Stone, Soderbergh, Affleck, Damon love films and TV shows with heart, depth and social justice.

But it had to happen this way. We had to reach a chaotic, criminally insane breaking point. And it might get worse before it gets better. We are so immature; we thrive on style over substance. And though we've had too much too soon, reason and sanity are returning, despite appearances. The physical picture, the so-called "reality" we see with our senses has very little to do with reality. Like the software inside a computer, it's what's invisible that counts: the underlying harmony, love and hope we all hold in our hearts. Our desire for justice, equality, peace and the common good. These are the principles that hold mankind together. These are spiritual qualities. It's a "thought universe" and thoughts make the world, as Ralph Waldo Emerson put it.

After we've had all the perversions, all the sex, drugs and rock and roll.. the excess crap and  materialism -- where else can we go but to the real, the love that runs all things, feeds all things, forgives all things?

THE GOOD
We have had countless miracles. Every day, focus on the good around you and if you are suffering expect a miracle. Miracles are actually natural laws. God is LOVE, not an anthropomorphic (man-like being) sitting in the sky. Prayer is the invisbile transfer of love to another. This has nothing to do with religion. Religion can be soothing and kind and wonderful, but it's still a man-made institution that is flawed and corruptible. But GOD is in every heart. The Kingdom is within you. Love one another. There is no power greater than LOVE.

STOP BEING BULLIED ~ TODAY IS THE DAY

DO MEN THINK CARRYING A GUN IS SEXY?  THE SHOOTING OF INNOCENTS
"The shooter, dressed in para-military gear, targeted kindergartners and first graders." ~ CNN
Do men think guns are sexy?

Should the government allow everyone to have a stash of Anthrax or a personal nuclear weapon or a missle in their closet, just in case ya'll need it to kill a group of people with?  You think a weapon that can kill 30 people in rapid succession is a normal weapon?  Is it really fear driving you or "eye for an eye" renegade justice? Or is it talk radio amping up the "survivalist mentality" out of fear of the so--called Apocalypse?

First of all, America worships violence. I am so sensitive lately I can't even watch a James Bond movie. I was so upset over my husband and stepson's immunity and lack of feeling over the last violent movie we saw together, I had to get out of the car and walk home. Violence is not normal to the human soul. My stepson actually got mad at me and said he was annoyed that I was making him "have a conscience" and making him think. He just wanted to enjoy the killing in the movie without being reminded that human lives were spent.

Anger and fear are a deadly combination, no matter what "mentall illness" bad mood, or depression someone is going through. Words cannot describe the pain and grief these families are feeling right now. Our hearts go out to everyone who has lost a child, parent, brother, sister or loved one. God Bless the families of Newton, Connecticut, Aurora, Colorado and Happy Valley, Orgeon — and all the others from Gabby Gifford's shooting, to the Virginia Tech shooting to the Unity Church shooting (egged on by Rush Limbaugh and the other fear mongers who hate liberals for being peacemakers) and the Colombine massacre, and all other mass shootings of innocents throughout our history.

The time has come. Providence has stepped in, as was the case with Hurricane Sandy. There is no mistaking the evidence, and what we have to do as a nation.

Remember Glen Beck screaming on CNN: 'Obama's gonna take your guns!!" ~ which resulted in a young man being so fearful and angry (a deadly combination) that he gathered all his semi-automatic weapons and aimed them at the front door and killed the police officers who entered the home at his mother's behest? '

In China a man took a knife and injured 20 school children. "Injured" is the operative word. The children are still alive. But in America, we have 20 dead children. Remember the Timeline of the insurrection -- hundreds of right wing killings based on the NRA promoting FEAR of liberals taking your gun rights away? In the Constitution, our forefathers NEVER wrote the Second Amendment thinking we would ever need semiautomatic weapons in our homes. Any person with a mental disorder, an anger issue -- or even momentary angerm or a bad mood, or suicidal thought -- can pick up a gun and make a deadly mistake. Why on earth would we, a so-called 'Christian nation" go against everything the Great Peacemaker stated in the Bible? Why would anyone promote ownership of military assault rifles? What a sick nation we are But LOVE will heal us. Don't be alone. What has happened in a strange way, is Divine Providence trying desperately to get our attention. Whethe you believe in a deity or simply "God as Love, which is what I believe -- then we must realize that our higher selves (where the Bible says the Kingdom is, "within us' -- our higher selves are screaming out in pain and desperation; we need to comde together and discuss this without being bullied by fearmongers like the NRA. I am sick and tired of knowing the truth, knowing the Christ Truth, and being called a communist or socialist for wanting peace and love to reign.

You don't find it a bit eerie that Sandy Hook and Superstorm Sandy share a common name? One may have had a hand in turning the tide for Obama's election win because it makes sense that disaster victims receive government help via FEMA funding. Who else is going to step in out of the philanthropy of their heart (aside from the American people?  Red Cross donations, which we all contribute to I'm sure, can't possibly cover all the losses in a major disaster like Hurricane Katrina or Supertorm Sandy.)  This is where Federal Emergency Aid has to come through.
What a bizarre time to be greedy. And Obama's desire to help disaster victims with federal aid (FEMA) helped him win the election. It was common sense. It also seemed to be providence moving earth and sky. Then with Sandy Hook -- a horrifying sacrifice of lambs in displaying the most innocent victims of gun violence in order to wake us up! How can anyone in Congress -- Democrat or Republican -- vote against their conscience? How can anyone vote against common sense gun control? How can anyone vote against universal background checks and a limit on military assault weapon sales?

HAUNTING "CLOUDS" ~ A TEEN SAYS GOODBYE ~ (BLESS YOU ZACH SOBIECH

PLEASE listen to this AMAZING, beautiful song written by 17-year-old Zach Sobiech who suffers from bone cancer and is facing his last Christmas. Let's give him a million hits on Youtube to help children with bone cancer.

GOD BLESS YOU ZACH, Please stay. You are a shining light. We need you here. Let's make sure this kid sticks around. Don't give up before the miracle

Love you
xoxoxo

After battling bone cancer for three years, Minnesota teenager Zach Sobiech was told this past May that the disease had spread and that there were no longer any effective treatments available. In response to this disheartening diagnosis, Sobiech embraced music as a way of bidding farewell to his friends and family. The resulting song, titled "Clouds," is an inspirational and courageous message of hope in the face of a harrowing future. You can hear Sobiech's "Clouds" and learn more about his story on YouTube http://youtu.be/sDC97j6lfyc ___________________________________________________ And then there's THIS song "TAKE A WALK" is the saddest, most haunting song I've heard in years. This song is so sad, so haunting. It describes what's wrong with the American Dream, and with America. It reminds me of "Death of a Salesman" which I saw when I was little. (Lee J. Cobb killed!) I love this song. So profound. Wow. Worf, Volt, Moo, FF Mike, Clif and Will Tell me what you think the lyrics mean "This song...floored...me. Haunted, almost. There's lots of pop sh*t out there but this one rings true in unsettling ways, and if you let your imagination drive for a few blocks...it'll probably seem just as 'real' as anything you'll find out there on any street in America" Read more at http://www.songmeanings.net/songs/view/3530822107859431339/#dBzxBqxmPE8ucR9j.99

LARRY HAGMAN'S SILENT SUNDAYS IN MALIBU

I am shocked and saddened at the death of Larry Hagman, who passed away yesterday. But I just heard the news that Deborah Raffin died too, and I can't believe it! I just worked with her on a talk show in Las Vegas.
I remember being at Larry Hagman's home in Malibu Colony, during "silent Sunday" when he fasted on words and wouldn't speak. He sat in a Tee-pee on the deck by the ocean, and we all took a jacuzzi in the living room. His wife Maj was amazing. Then upstairs in the study we each got million dollar bills signed by J.R. Danny Bolin of Bolin Belt company was there - silversmiths who made all the Dallas belts. Amazing stuff. I have silver heart belt buckle with my initial "L" Rest in Peace Larry, Love and blessings.

LINCOLN: BEST MOVIE

Spielberg's masterpiece "LINCOLN" blew me away. Daniel Day Lewis, one of the best actors on the planet, was the essence of Abraham Lincoln — as far as we know him from history books. A deeply fair man, he radiated the best qualities of mankind.

These days we need all the heroes we can get. And I don't mean sports stars. Lincoln's wit, innate goodness, quiet wisdom and deep reasoned reflection — elevated him to an almost superhuman figure. But this is what we should all aspire to be: ego-free, humble, wise, compassionate and smart.  He seemed to glow from within.

What a difference when you think of braggarts like Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, certain candidates or any shallow self-promoter.

What impressed me the most was his humility, and the way he turned to his own internal codes.  He was a true leader, with moral courage. He won the popular vote twice, but didn't care about being popular. He didn't indulge in people-pleasing, and refused to be swayed by others' opinions — even of those in his cabinet. He wasn't insecure or indecisive -- though he did have gut-wrenching, complex moral dilemmas.  What I loved the most was his turning to his inner code.

Lincoln was a real man: quiet, soft-spoken, never egotistical, never petty.

And the cast was insanely great: such an array of faces we all love!  Tommy Lee Jones, hilarious and raw and feisty as the most liberal abolitionist of the Republican party, could hardly contain himself when called upon to be "moderate."

And James Spader was never more fun to watch with his walrus mustache and mercenary vote-buying goodness.

I loved Sally Field, even though her bitchiness and self-centered nagging made me cringe.

This movie got me back on tack with my own mission. It inspired me to stop wasting time. I really want to help change the world for the better. All these years, I've been afraid to speak out too much, so I've kept one foot in the doorway. I should have blasted Ann Coulte for her bigotry and hate speak -- in much louder ways. But Lincoln knew that timing was everything.

The time is now.
