Miscellaneous Facts about Lydia Cornell

John Conley, a disabled Marine combat vet, sent Lydia his Purple Heart for her courage in standing up to Ann Coulter's 'extermination speak' in her article “Death is Sexier than Sex.”

Cornell is a Synesthete. Many artists, musicians and writers (including V. Nabokov, John Mayer and David Hockney) have synesthesia -- and see colors when hearing sounds, and see numbers and letters in color. The World Symposium on Synesthesia convened in Belgium last year.
She started experiencing 11:11 in 1994, when she got sober, and had a “catastrophic spiritual awakening and transformation.

DON'T WORRY: ENTHUSIASM and COURAGE CHANGE YOUR BRAIN WAVES

Worry is ingratitude in advance. ~ Who said that?
Enthusiasm and courage actually change your brain waves, which means you can sculpt your own reality if you'll just STOP when you are in panic or stress, take a time-out and breathe.  Stop and center yourself. Mentally claim dominion over your reality.
Fear is "False Evidence Appearing Real" and you have nothing to fear. I have been through a lot of stress lately with my mother being rushed to ER, and with our sweet dog Chazzy's sudden death. Also, the fear of financial insecurity that seems to pervade all our lives as we navigate the new economy -- I'm accidentally running a sober recovery house. (More on that later.)
But I've experienced absolute transformation when I surrender my worries and fears to a Higher Power. I call this force GOOD or God, but you can call it LOVE or Nature. The important thing is to realize you are not alone, and you are loved. Use all of us - picture ALL your loved ones as your HP (Higher Power.)  Picture all the good guys of mankind as your higher power.
I have spine-tingling, first hand evidence that miracles are natural laws of the universe. What I call "a miracle" is simply the amazing secret knowledge that there is a law of nature that actually rescues me when I am stressed or in fear. It actually heals my body when I depend on this power. When I relax and 'let go" and pray (which means I yell HELP) or silently cry out to the Universe for help — help always comes.  And when I help someone else, my suffering vanishes.
"Share your pain you cut it in half; share your joy, you double it."
AND don't forget this: "You can be attractive even if you’re not good looking because if you radiate love you attract people! (That’s a joke I wrote.) Scientists have discovered that brain activity produces waves that are measurable according to your level of serenity or agitation. And Einstein said, “No problem can be solved on the same level it was created on.” In other words, you can't fight fire with fire; you can't cure alcoholism with more alcohol; you can’t start a war to create peace — you have to go to a higher level — a spiritual or diplomatic solution. Or as George Carlin put it, “Fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity.”

Veterans at Home, on a Mission of Compassion

By TINA ROSENBERG

Rachel Gutierrez was an army sergeant in Iraq, but back home in Phoenix she leads a platoon. At 2:30 in the morning last Oct. 18, members of the 1st Platoon Phoenix   gathered at an all-night McDonalds in a bad neighborhood downtown. Their mission was to comb the streets for chronically homeless veterans (who tend to sleep in groups but scatter during the day) and register them to get housing and other services.
