TO THE BOSTON TERRORISTS, DOMESTIC OR FOREIGN: WE ARE UNITED AGAIN

IT'S TIME TO CHANGE THE WORLD WITH LOVE * AMERICA IS UNITED

Our prayers go out to those killed or injured in the Boston Marathon. It's time to take a stand against the destruction of our country. More than ever we must come together and unite as the United States. If we start being kinder to each other, no one can defeat us. That means left and right, Black and White, rich and poor. We are so powerful when we are united. A nation divided cannot stand. Love, peace, unity, service. When we think of others' first, our own problems diminish. It's a circle.

In light of the Boston terror attack that just killed an 8-year old child and another adult, as well as injuring 8 children and 110 people, it's time to unite our country and stop fighting each other. A divided nation cannot stand.

A DIVIDED NATION CANNOT STAND

I am sick of the "Left-Right" divisiveness in the media. It's just a phony ruse to get us to watch TV. It seems to help the Nielsen ratings, which helps the TV networks earn more money through advertisers. There is no real divide. No matter what side you are on, we all want the same ultimate goal: peace.

All my friends and loved ones, and even Facebook friends whom I have grown to love -- no matter how at odds we seem politically, we all really want the same things in life. We all want to see ourselves are kind, helpful, and generous. We all want prosperity, harmony, abundance, joy, enlightenment, safety, success, comfort, charity, love.

This world was set up to work against human nature. It sets us up to compete against each other and often feel like failures.

It's time to change the paradigm.

I have many ideas which I will post, but first I'd like to hear from you. How can we change the world?

Please comment here.

Thank you.

LOVE xoxoxo

One way to promote change would be to be careful in our use of labels. Applying labels indicates conclusions and it pre-defines people and circumstances.

I would actually start by avoiding the use of the label "terrorist." One can still reflect upon the reality and the horror of the circumstances in Boston without using a phrase that will encourage a feeling of us-against-them. A categorization of "terrorism" cements the feelings of being vulnerable or defensive or combative.

    much love,
    John

  2. Its only terrorism if you're terrified.

Remember however John, it was the Bush administration that pushed the terminology. Now its sort of adopted. But yes I agree, we should stop acting terrorized, and stop overreacting.

At the same time though, I watched the blast on the news tonight and it was pretty bad. We need to stop the war talk. Stop the Tea Party from making the rest of the world think we're all a bunch of warmongering yahoos and start acting like the great country we were when our fathers handed it to us.

Jesus said it best. "he who lives by the sword, perishes by the sword".

  3. Look at it this way. They hadn't even cleaned the body parts off the street, and our Tea Party troll voltron was in here using the event to lobby for guns.

Any nation this obsessed with guns can't avoid violence. Mass violence.

When I was growing up we had guns too, but we didn't worship them. These people worship the guns, and they can't wait to use them. They lust after death. And we reap what we sow.

Life is like driving a car on the highway. In a car, if you focus on the center line you'll find your car moving towards it.

We gravitate towards what we concentrate on.

We can't spend our days preaching and lobbying for guns, as if that's the only thing that matters anymore in America.

But if you listen to the Tea Party right wing, then you'd think the only two things that matter to Americans are guns and keeping the gays from getting married.

Our values need to change. We need want better if we want better.

  4. I rather like the current "Global Contingency on Human caused Disasters"

But you're right Worfy. We DO need to stop the war talk. Stop the liberals from making the rest of the world think we're weak...

    1. Only a gutless chicken hawk like you is weak

So you worry might think you are as yellow in their eyes as you are in your own,

Some of us didn't worry about the image and just went ahead and served, making sure we were not weak in reality and not just in the image you want to project for the world to see, while hiding in your basement in fear.

    3. Sorry, but as usual you make up lies when your called out for your cowardices. Too bad it shows eh??????

  5. I don't get the Blue Falcon reference.

But as for the "liberals making the rest of the world think we're weak...", it wasn't the liberal who invaded and occupied Iraq.

    It was the Bush administration.

And our failed invasion and occupation of Iraq showed the world that we were bungling and weak.

Just 10 years before, when Bush senior sent a our troops into a just war, we cleaned up, leaving the world in awe of our power and skill.

Then, when you clowns took over, you just talked a lot about awe.

But the only thing the world was in awe of was our bungling incompetence.

Every time you "chest beaters" thump your chests and brag about how big you are, you show the world how small you are.

  6. On a really sad, serious note, an eight-year-old boy is one of the three known dead in the Boston bombing.

    What a waste of life.

  7. When our country was attacked by terrorists on 911, liberals who had up until that time despised Bush, RALLIED around him in a show of patriotism and country.

But today, our country's attacked, and conservatives, like our pal Voltron here spit venom and spite, attacking and tearing down our President.

The irony being they're the ones always beating their chests about patriotism.

    ReplyDelete
  8. We have soldiers in Afghanistan, North Korea is threatening nuclear war and now we have a terrorist attack on our home soil, and all Voltron can do is attack the President and in turn our country, tearing it down and weakening us when we need so badly to be strong.

When are these tea party "patriots" going to show even a fraction of the patriotism the rest of us showed on 911?

    ReplyDelete
  9. When are they going to volunteer, get in uniform and stop just looking tough????????

After 9-11 my 18 year old daughter volunteered, the right wingers like the CPAC crowd and college republicans for some reason couldn't find the testicular fortitude to do the same.

Neither could closet tough our resident right wing troll.

    ReplyDelete
  10. It's like they actually think patriotism really is the yellow ribbons and flag pins, not actually serving the country or it's government they seem to hate a lot (especially when democratic party is in the white house)......

    ReplyDelete
  11. Like the first responders including several people in military uniform who rushed into the smoke from the blasts to help their fellow Americans who were injured.

Unlike those brave citizens Voltron can only snipe and make jokes, he seems to lack the real patriotism of the first responders or service members. who practice what they preach not just pose .....to look tough.

I think you guys have lost sight of the question. In doing so you have demonstrated the divide of which Lydia spoke of. The world will never be safe until we humans realize that the earth cannot and should not be owned. God has provided all we need. Man has put a price on water. We need to go back to being hunter/gatherers and restore the balance. Until that happens Armageddon is a self-fulfilling prophecy. I pray for all of you.

    ReplyDelete
  13. WORFy7:26 AM

Nonsense. What you're talking about Mark is pure tin foil hat survivalist nonsense. "hunter-gatherers", give me a break.

Man can do more with his life, and this world (like reaching for the stars) than waste his days "foraging for food" like a Ground Hog.

    ReplyDelete
  14. And the Armageddon end of days doom and gloom is also nonsense. Man has been predicting that for thousands of years. Maybe we should look forward, and stop with all the doomsday nonsense.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Until that happens Armageddon is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Only if you follow the prophecy ....

    if you do not,

    it cannot.

Just like war cannot happen unless lots of people put lots of energy into making it happen, all those tanks, planes, bombs, grenades, bullets and weapons do not arrive on the battle field all by their little selves.

Nor do troops, lots of energy is used to start a war, and if people decide to put that energy into peaceful purposes instead, war doesn't happen any more.

So no prophecy is NOT self fulfilling, many many people work very hard for various reasons to make it happen.

Others ignore all that wasted effort for violence and claim it was self fulfilling prophecy ...... when plainly it was not.

  16. Clif said it right.

We decide. Not fate. Not our stars. We decide. If you believe in the God of the bible then it says he gave man his free will, to be free to choose. That's the entire bible right there. We're the ones who decide.

We can choose to do good or evil. Wars happen because stupid, petty little men like George W Bush and Dick Cheney DECIDE they should happen. World War 1 started over NOTHING, yet millions paid the price.

We decide what we do here. This earth can be a heaven or a hell. We decide by what we do.

    ReplyDelete
  17. WORFEUS BRAINEUS10:16 AM

And by the way George, I don't mean anything derogatory about you, its just those sort of "the end is near" comments have grown old.

Also the idea that we should revert to our stone age beginnings, (hunter gatherer) is simply laughable.

We have "agriculture". We don't need to be hunters\gatherers (besides didn't you know eating meat is bad for you?).

That we need to "improve" our agricultural processes, (I'd like to see more small, family farms and move away from the industrialized farming) or our footprint on this earth is not in doubt.

And that we need to move off carbon fuels and onto clean energy is not in doubt.

But the creator gave us BRAINS. And he didn't give them to us to fill the empty space between our ears.

A rodent can be a hunter gatherer, and it doesn't require much brain power to do it.

We need to be more than that. We need to use the brains we were given to improve. Always, improve.

    ReplyDelete
  18. And the end is near only if we choose to make it so.

The earth can sustain us for hundreds of millions of years, if we just improve the way we use it.

  21. Bombers are pure 100% cowards

During my service both ATF and FBI agents told me the same.

However some Brit EOD who I served with during Desert Storm had a different opinion, but they were experienced with the IRA and quite a bit of Pakistani etc foreign terrorists, who were more than willing to die to achieve their objective.

  22. I think the important thing now is we don't overreact like our nation did on 911.

We need to step back, assess the situation, and proceed ahead cautiously and smartly. Lets find out who did this, and get them.

Lets not lash out at the entire world like a bunch of frightened geese, like Bush and Cheney had us do on 911.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Knee jerk reactions like Johnny's are great for chest beating and making yourself feel tough, but don't do much to address the situation.

Who did this. That's the first question. And the second one is why.

Of course if we figure out the second one first, then the first question will likely be answered by the second.

  24. Clif, you've seen improvised devices like these and worked with them to destroy them.

What's your gut tell you about these blasts? They seemed to go off pretty well timed.

Is this some homegrown nut, or someone who has an inkling of what they're doing?

    ReplyDelete
  25. The build is crude but very effective, I think the circuit boards will end up being timers to coordinate the two blasts. Very basic as to building, far too much info on how to do something like these devices is readily available on the internet. A simple 555 timer chip could be all that was necessary in a circuit that fires a blasting cap after a pre-set time(number of counts on the chip), the 555 chip has been around from before I served. The reason I believe a timed device is how close they exploded in relation to each other. If the perp wanted to initiate the devices by cell phone, he could have ganged two cell phones to receive the same signal and get a simultaneous detonation. The circuit with a 555 timer give 20-30 minutes of countdown could end up be 10-15 seconds off if home build because of variations in individual electronic components. This is why I believe a timed device not cell initiated.

Basic high school tech education is all that would be necessary for construction.

It could be a lone nut like Unabomber, who was quite ingenious in his construction. His hand made devices left very little as to clues to follow up on, remember his written manifesto is what ended up turning law enforcement unto him from his brother recognizing his writing style.

Or it could be part of a group whether foreign or domestic, far too little to go on, since the internet brings knowledge from all over the planet to us here and spreads own know how back to everyone else.

Whom ever built the devices wanted lots of people hurt given the packing of small ball bearings and either pieces of short wire or headless nails. They intended massive causalities given the location and what was happening at the time. Which is why the terror aspect rose quickly.

As to exactly who would want to do this, foreign terrorists come to mind, however they usually claim credit quickly. People like Timothy McVeigh and Eric Rudolph also worked in similar modes, as we unfortunately found out.

Whom ever it was is not somebody who is a first time loner, because they successfully created and planted two devices in a public place, and calmly walked away without drawing and undue attention to themselves. I tend to believe more than one person involved even if only 1 person placed the two devices, but that is pure conjecture on my part.

    ReplyDelete
  26. One more thing, I have heard the explosive might be black powder, which now days contain taggants for the FBI to track back to mfg, and then forward to individual purchasers.

Either the individual didn't know this or might have access to older black powder, which if stored right can still be completely usable 20-30 years after manufacture.

Moist foreign terrorists now use home-made mixtures because they are non traceable, and most foreign terrorist groups have web-pages showing both how to create home made explosives and how to use them in a device.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Add to this the fact whom ever built the devices designed them as a sort of home made claymore, or directional fragmentary device where the explosive has the metal fragments or ball bearings placed only on one side to direct where they are propelled by the explosive force.

I figured you'd know about this stuff but I didn't fathom the level of granular detail you'd have.

They could probably use someone like you to help them sort this stuff out.

I think its important we don't overreact like Bush and Cheney did on 911 and lash out, but instead use our smarts to find these guys.

We've got to get them. Get them, drag them into court to show the US doesn't abandon who we are in times of crisis, then either execute them or put them in the darkest deepest pits we have with no communication with the outside for the rest of their lives.

  30. Worf, my training is two decades old, the newer presently serving EOD techs and ATF and FBI investigators have knowledge of the current threats, devices, and technologies that didn't exist when I did my thing.

I'd be a waste of time trying to bring this old guy up to speed.

  31. Well the government authorities investigating the Boston Marathon bombing have identified a suspect from the video they asked people to allow them to view, and arrest has happened. The person id'd was seen on video dropping one of the backpack bombs.
