SUPERHEROES: CHEERS FOR BOSTON'S FINEST: SWAT TEAMS, BOSTON PD, WATERTOWN PD, MASS STATE PD, US CITIZENS AND REDDIT UNIVERSE! THANK YOU!

I was spellbound by the magnificent job that the Boston, Watertown PD as well as ATF and FBI did in capturing the 2nd suspect today.

Please read and comment on the capture, our SUPERHEROES and the victims including: Newlyweds Patrick Downes and Jessica Kensky both lost legs in the blast (see below at end)

Thank you

Love to you all. Please let's start to be kinder to each other. Young people need to see the hope and love and inspiration in life and not feel so hopeless. I can't believe my son had to grow up in a world of 9/11 and now this -- but thank Goodness for the heroes, the strangers making tourniquets, everyone helping each other...  and the millions of bloggers and kids on REDDIT.COM giving hope and tips and listening to police scanners.

God Bless Sean Collier, the 26-year old M.I.T. police officer that was assassinated last night by the Boston bomber. Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer Sean Collier, 26, of Somerville, Mass., was shot and killed in the line of duty.

Rest in Peace: the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings: Martin Richard, Krystle Campbell, Lingzi Lu

WATERTOWN, Mass. - Celebrations erupted in suburban Boston, downtown and beyond Friday night as the capture of the remaining marathon bombing suspect was announced in a tweet from police.
In the Watertown neighborhood where 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev engaged in a firefight with police while hiding out in a parked boat, dozens of people at a police barricade cheered and applauded as law enforcement officers and emergency responders left the scene.
"Never in my wildest dreams did I think that this would result in a shootout in Watertown," said Sheamus McGovern, of Belmont, Mass., who was among the crowd of people gathered outside Mount Auburn Hospital, where Tsarnaev was taken after his capture.

Early Friday morning, 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed in a gun battle and car chase during which he and his younger brother hurled explosives at police from a stolen car, authorities said.
During the getaway attempt, the brothers killed an MIT policeman and severely wounded another officer, authorities said. The younger brother managed to escape and was found in the boat about a mile away hours later.
McGovern had been startled overnight Friday during a when he heard "what sounded like firecrackers, last night after one, and then pure bedlam." He could hear the helicopters overhead all day.
"It's just a huge relief to be able to get outdoors. Another day of that, I don't want to start getting angry,"
The jubilation was widespread. The mayor of Boston, which was largely paralyzed during the manhunt Friday, tweeted, "We got him!" And at the home of the New York Mets, fans leapt to their feet and cheered when the news spread during a game against theWashington Nationals.
Hundreds of people marched down Commonwealth Avenue, chanting "USA" and singing the Red Sox anthem "Sweet Caroline" as they headed toward Boston Common. Police blocked traffic along part of the street to allow for the impromptu parade.
Earlier, the mood was somber. On Boylston Street, three blocks from the site of the marathon explosions on Monday, several dozen people gathered almost in complete silence. Some were crying.
Boston University student Aaron Wengertsman, 19, wrapped himself in an American flag as a silent crowd gathered. He was on the marathon route a mile from the finish line when the bombs exploded.

World flocks to funding sites for victims of Boston Marathon blasts

Strangers the world over step up in droves to boost crowdfunding efforts for severely injured victims of this week's Boston Marathon bombings.

Crowdfunding sites set up by friends and families of the Boston bombing victims are giving the world a way to help. And the world is stepping up.
As of this writing, Bucks for Bauman on GoFundMe has raised more than $192,000 in two days for Jeff Bauman, a 27-year-old marathon spectator who lost both legs to the blasts. Bauman also reportedly helped ID the suspects from his hospital bed.
"Medical bills are going to start rolling in, let's get a head start on helping out Bauman and his family! Every dollar counts!!" reads an introduction by Brooke Gibbs, who started the site. It's just one of a number of crowdfunding efforts that have sprung up this week to aid Boston Marathon bombing victims through grassroots campaigns -- and have collectively drawn more than $1 million in a matter of days.

Ann and Eric Whalley, residents of Charlestown, Mass., were seriously injured in Monday's bomb blasts.

Another GoFundMe site, the Celeste & Sydney Recovery Fund, has as of this writing raised more than $396,000 of its $500,000 goal to aid Celeste Corcoran and teenage daughter Sydney. Celeste lost both legs in the bombing and Sydney suffered severe shrapnel injuries to one of her legs.
"There is a long road ahead -- both physically and emotionally -- and we're hoping to relieve some of the financial burden by raising funds in their name," says Celeste's cousin Alyssa Carter, who started the fund.
The donation page includes updates on the pair; gratefully, a post from yesterday reports that "Celeste and Sydney are gaining strength and improving every day." Pictures include shots of Sydney's hospital visits with Matt Smith, who kneeled to help her stanch the blood after the blast, and with actor Bradley Cooper, who stopped by to lend cheer to the victims and their loved ones.
After newlyweds Patrick Downes and Jessica Kensky each lost a left leg below the knee in the blasts, friends of the couple started a crowdfunding campaign through Give Forward to raise money for surgeries and rehabilitation costs. So far, it has raised more than $438,000 toward a $500,000 goal.

Matt Smith visits Sydney Corcoran in the hospital for the first time since helping save her life. "We are so incredibly grateful to him, and he was as gracious in person as you'd expect a real-life superhero to be," loved ones of the mother and daughter say on the fundraising page.
(Credit: Celeste & Sydney Recovery Fund)
Much of that outpouring of support can be attributed to total strangers who were touched by the newlyweds' story and looking to help. Contributor Leanne Hartmann writes, "Dear Patrick and Jess -- I don't know you personally, but when a member of the BC (Boston College) community is affected, we are all affected. Wishing you all the best for your recovery and as you move ahead. You will be in our thoughts and prayers."
Crowdfunding has become a go-to means of helping out in a crisis, as in the case of Hurricane Sandy recovery, as well as contributing to smaller causes, like building a Tesla museum. Indeed, in an event as traumatic as this one, the sites give strangers a chance to personally connect with the victims by sharing money and well wishes -- and seeing immediate results as updates and donor comments accrue and monetary totals inch up by the minute. The contributors aren't just adding to an anonymous fund; they're stepping for a brief moment into the lives of people who are surviving through unimaginable trauma and giving them a virtual helping hand.
They're offering real-world help, too, such as the fellow amputee who offered via Bucks for Bauman to provide Bauman with free medical supplies.
"You are a brave guy," a donor writes to Bauman. "I wish you all the best to overcome this! Best regards from Germany." Writes another, "To be honest, I have been haunted by your image for the past five days. For some reason on your face I see a calmness and a strength that is inspiring to me. I wish I could do more to help and pray for your fast recovery."
Another Give Forward campaign for longtime Massachusetts residents Ann and Eric Whalley has surpassed $83,000 on its way to the $100,000 goal. Both 65-year-olds were injured while cheering on the runners, though Eric is faced with brain trauma as well as external injuries. Friends of the family started the fundraiser, saying, "As friends of the Whalley family, we are raising a recovery fund to help ease the financial burden of this devastating incident on the family."
While the huge outpouring from as far away as Russia, China, England, and Sweden serves as a heartening reminder of humanity's kindness and generosity, tragedy can, sadly, also be fertile ground for exploitation and scams. Malware has reportedly been spotted using this week's events as bait, and thedomains.com reports that more than 100 new (and potentially sketchy) domains related to the attacks have suddenly sprung up. Although we've yet to hear of any major scams related to collection efforts for the victims, crowdfunding experts recommend doing some basic research and even reaching out directly to campaign organizers before donating.
In response to queries about the funds for the Whalley family, an update was posted saying, "Regarding the amount, the reality is that there are a huge number of financial burdens that come from a situation like this, beyond immediate expenses." The update emphasizes that all money raised will go to the family and that any leftover funds, if there are any, will be distributed to other victims.

  7. Well Johnny as usual is over the top in his psudeo-indignation, but the general sentiment is correct. No one clicks those links (because we don't like trojans and viruses or trackers) and no folks are tired of your repetitive spam, post after post after post.

This is not a random spammer obviously. This individual has it in for either this blog or someone associated with it.

Either way Johnny's correct in that no one's dumb enough to click your spambot links and no ones going to miss you when you leave.

If you're trolling for Nazi's, try visiting a Tea Party rally.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Anonymous7:56 AM

If you want to understand the "gestalt" of the Nazi Party, and how it started, take at the Tea Party in the US today. You will see the same mentalities, arguments, tactics and even logistics as the early Nazi Party used. Remember the Nazi's didn't start out on top.

They started out as an "angry" rebellious party distrusting of government. The Nazi's started out in the Beer Halls, threatening and intimidating other candidates and their supporters, the Tea Party does likewise in the "Town Halls". The Germans were disarmed but that didn't stop the Nazi's from using bully tactics including threats of coming violence and revolution,or "brandishing" sticks, clubs and fists as they literally chased off the opposition wherever it spoke up setting themselves up as the reform wardens who would lead the country to better times.

The Tea Party uses threats of coming revolution, brandish firearms at political rallies, deride government and set themselves up as the reform wardens with themselves as the solution.

And of course as the article points out, the main weapon was fear and hate. The Nazi's told the people who to fear, and who to hate.

Who was responsible for their plight. And the Tea Party does the exact same thing. For the Nazi's it was the Jews and the liberals. For the Tea Party its the Muslims and the liberals. Their entire platform like the Nazis is based on hate and fear. If we look, we see history repeating itself.

More Than Half of Evangelicals View Islam as a Violent Religion

More than half of evangelical Christians (52 percent) view Islam as "essentially a violent religion," a new report from Barna Group reveals, though only about a quarter (26 percent) of all American adults feel the same way.

5-year-old shoots 2-year-old sister in Kentucky
By TRAVIS LOLLER and DYLAN LOVAN | Associated Press – 1 hr 52 mins ago

"BURKESVILLE, Ky. (AP) — In southern Kentucky, where children get their first guns even before they start first grade, Stephanie Sparks paid little attention as her 5-year-old son, Kristian, played with the rifle he was given last year. Then, as she stepped onto the front porch while cleaning the kitchen, "she heard the gun go off," a coroner said.

In a horrific accident Tuesday that shocked a rural area far removed from the national debate over gun control, the boy had killed his 2-year-old sister, Caroline, with a single shot to the chest.

"Down in Kentucky where we're from, you know, guns are passed down from generation to generation," Cumberland County Coroner Gary White said. "You start at a young age with guns for hunting and everything."

What is more unusual than a child having a gun, he said, is "that a kid would get shot with it."

In this case, the rifle was made by a company that sells guns specifically for children — "My first rifle" is the slogan — in colors ranging from plain brown to hot pink to orange to royal blue to multi-color swirls.

Kristian's rifle was kept in a corner of the mobile home, and the family didn't realize a bullet had been left in it.
"It's a normal way of life, and it's not just rural Kentucky, it's rural America — hunting and shooting and sport fishing. It starts at an early age," said Cumberland County Judge Executive John Phelps. "There's probably not a household in this county that doesn't have a gun."

Their God is a very hateful vengeful God just waiting to burn the vast majority of humanity for some perceived sin.

Only the people who attend their little or sometimes mega church are "saved" according to them.

Not any God I want to ever meet, but they insist that is what Jesus was talking about.

Oh yea and Jesus would be all OK with the USA modern gun culture they tell me, no "sermon on the mount" wussieness, that is a hippie myth which Jesus never really meant.

One of my favorite quotes is:

"If God hadn't them to use guns he would have never allowed us to

Given the extreme rhetoric coming from the new leader (and outgoing leader) of the NRA, and given the recent poll showing 44 percent of Republicans think armed revolution may be necessary "soon", I think its time we pause and think and listen long and hard to this hateful, murderous rhetoric and how it echoes the same calls to arms and dogmas chanted by the early Nazi party just a little more than half a century ago. They too warned of the evils of "liberals" and "intellectuals", "filthy immigrants".

What's more the same cries for "Evangelicalism" and cries against "atheism", were made. They even bemoaned the "evils of abortion", and how the evil intellectual social democrats were trying to give free abortions paid for by the state.

Observe the speech by Joseph Goebbels from 1935, and reflect on the eerie similarity and how it almost echoes what we hear from this Tea Party evangelical christian right wing of today.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Anonymous6:49 PM

    " . Let us also note the profound hatred in liberal circles throughout the world in regard to National Socialism and its practical constructive work in Germany;

Prior to our advent to power, the atheist propaganda carried out by the Marxists in Germany, whose forces we have overthrown, took its stand in favour of the dreadful state of things which I have described. The Social Democratic “League of Geman Freethinkers” alone had a membership of 600,000. The Communist “League of Proletarian Freethinkers” had close on 160,000 members. Almost without exception, the intellectual leaders of Marxist atheism in Germany were Jews, among them being Erich Weinert, Felix Abraham, Dr. Levy-Lenz and others. At regular meetings, held in the presence of a notary public, members were requested to register their declaration of withdrawal from their church for a fee of 2 Marks. And thus the fight for atheism was carried on. Between 1918 and 1933 the withdrawals from the German Evangelical Churches alone amounted to two-and-a-half million persons in Germany. The programme which these atheistic societies laid down in regard to sexual matters is amply characterised in the following demands publicly expressed at meetings and distributed in leaflet form:

    1. The complete abrogation of those paragraphs of the law dealing with the crime of abortion, and the right to have abortion procured free of charge in State Hospitals.

    2. Non-interference with prostitution.

    3. The abrogation of all bourgeois-capitalistic regulations in regard to marriage and divorce.

    4. Official registration to be optional and the children to be educated by the community.

    5. Abrogation of all penalties for sexual perversities and amnesty to be granted to all persons condemned as “sexual criminals.”

Truly a case of methodical insanity, which has for its aim the wilful destruction of the nations and their civilization and the substitution of barbarism as a fundamental principle of public life."

Think about the threats they make about armed revolution, ...think about their cries about the "liberal (Jewish) media".

    Then think about this....

"And even if today's Jewish newspapers still believe they can intimidate the National Socialist movement with veiled threats, even if they believe they have permission to circumvent our emergency decrees, they should take care, for one day our patience will run dry, and then the Jews will have their brazen, lying mouths stuffed once and for all."

"On January 30th the national revolution erupted.

This revolution will stop at nothing.

It has changed the nature of politics, and undertaken to reform the German people from top to bottom.

Adolf Hitler is the man behind this movement. The era in which we live is of historical importance. We are steadily advancing an upheaval of incalculable proportions in Germany. The revolution has won the day. Its results will produce political new conditions in Germany. Now the people have self-respect, work and bread again."

"We must exterminate these people root and branch ... the homosexual must be eliminated."

In 1936, Himmler established the "Reichszentrale zur Bekämpfung der Homosexualität und Abtreibung" ("Reich Central Office for the Combating of Homosexuality and Abortion").[99] The Nazi régime incarcerated some 100,000 homosexuals during the 1930s.[100] As concentration camp prisoners, homosexual men were forced to wear pink triangle badges.[101][102] -

  74. No,Worf,I wasnt talking about the walls I was talking about the ceiling of the spiral staircase. There are two spiral staircases on the main floor-one that leads to the second floor of the house (original) and another that leads to the basement (brand new).

When I demode the original square stairs that led to the unfinished basement it revealed the ugly bottom of the original upstairs spiral staircase. I framed in the area between the spiral stringers and used 3/8" drywall.........I made it sopping wet! Very difficult!!

    Here is a better pic...

    http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p28/JohnnyMooMoo/001.jpg

I recently installed the "drywall cove" with the one step........the homeowner suggested two steps but I didnt feel like doing it........too much work!

I did not install the lighting(my electrician did) nor the spiral staircase. Man,the rough in for the plumbing was a bummer......Im still sore from that one. Soon a 105 inch movie screen will be installed with 9.1 dolby surround.

I have a 105 inch screen, but its a pulldown.

    ReplyDelete
  76. No this is not a pull down......... its the latest in movie/television viewing! Some kind of ceiling mounted projector and electric movie screen?

I just have a 52" HD television.......its good enough for me!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Anonymous10:13 AM

I know, I was saying I have a pulldown. I want a fixed screen but haven't yet designated a permanent home theater in my house. Right now I have a HD DLP projector (a pretty good one) and a 105 inch pull down screen that's just hung from two eyehooks on the ceiling in the living room in front of the fireplace. I pull it down in the evening to watch movies after a long days work. But one day I'm going to build out one room of the house as nothing but a home theater and put a permanent screen into the wall, complete with automatic draw back red curtains, fixed seating, the works.

    ...some day.

Yea I knew you meant the staircase. I was just asking about the crown molding. But yea it looks good. You do good work.

I usually float my seams out a little wider, I like to go about 12 to 14 inches on the final seams. Of course I don't know if those are your final seams or not.

Also I'd lose the aluminum corner bead and do your customers a favor and pay a few cents more for the white vinyl. That aluminum bead is cheaper but it doesn't hold paint well, and the first time someone bumps into it moving a washer or dryer or tv , or the kids run into it with a tricycle or something, its going to chip and even dent. Then it looks like crap, with silver showing through and dents in it.

The white vinyl will last for years and they can run into it all they want and never worry about that ugly silver showing through when someone knocks into it. Also you can get it rounded, making rounded corners which looks so nice, particularly when you're doing fancy curved work like that.

But yea, you do good work. Looks good.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Worf.the whole job has "bullnose" rounded corners.........no metal bead except in a few areas where bullnose wouldnt work! I have many more pics showing many more rooms but I hate uploading.

Thanx for the compliment,I get them all the time!

    : )

I will do your theater room for one million bucks?

    ReplyDelete
  80. Anonymous2:35 PM

Ok, well I was looking at a picture where there were doorways and corners with regular aluminum corner bead.

As for my theater, thanks for the bid...we'll uhm.....take it under advisement.

Here is just a sample of the sort of comments being currently promulgated in articles about the NRA right now and Wayne LaPierre's speech.

    Observe;

"I hope the left tries to take every ones firearms. Traitor liberal blood will flow like rivers in the streets" - Allen • 19 hrs ago

Articles like this just make me think that in order to preserve the Constitution, there will have to be blood spilled. It seems that as time progresses, there are more and more Liberal whack jobs who want to abolish the second amendment.

I have one word of advice to all you Communist pigs out there who want to shred the Constitution.....RUN! Go to China, Russia, or whatever trash country who shares your views. Don't keep hanging around here enjoying our freedoms and benefits.

The recent poll showing 44 percent of republicans believe that armed revolution is necessary in the next few years should awaken every American to who and what these people are. Murderers in waiting.

The Nazis likewise used a "revolution of the people" to remove the duly elected government through threats, intimidation, violence and coercion. By the time Hindenburg appointed Hitler Chancellor he had been left with no choice. The German people had been cowed and beaten and no one dared stand up to the powerful gun wielding Nazis, not even Hindenburg.

The Nazis used the same tactics as these NRA thugs, and sold the same dogmas of fear.

The NRA thugs lost an election, so now they think they have the right to overthrow the duly elected government and instill themselves as our forced government at the point of a gun.

This is patriotism on the Nazi plan.

  84. Don't keep hanging around here enjoying our freedoms and benefits."

Probably like most gutless loudmouth right wing chickenhawk trolls, they never volunteered for active duty, put on a uniform and actually served defending those freedoms and benefits.

But they try to use those "rights" to incite violence to silence the vast majority from their opinion.

    Yep very Fascist like,

BTW Nazis were right wing fascists you know sorta like today's teatards, and unlike the lies Johanh Goldberg tells, not commies.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Anonymous8:24 AM

Yea I know, these right wing NRA trolls are all in there trying to convince anyone stupid enough to listen that the Nazis were "Socialists" since they called themselves "National Socialists".

I'm so sick of that stupid, inane lie that it makes my head hurt.

Go into the comments section right now in the news articles and all the right wing trolls are upset calling it an "Obama conspiracy".

Had this guy been a Muslim then they'd be calling for his head. But because its a guy named Buford from dirtwater Minnesota, ..oh well then its all some sort of "Obama Conspiracy".

  91. Worf in the bubble they live in built like a house of cards from lies and half truth talking points,

they cannot deviate by allowing reality to intrude,

other wise they would have to admit they are either that stupid and easily decieved ..... or just that plain rotten to the core.

You wouldn't believe how many of them in Yahoo are defending this guy. Thousands of them are in there defending this guy, calling it an Obama conspiracy.

First they blame Obama and the FBI when they didn't stop a terrorist attack in Boston.

Now they stop one and they still blame them and accuse them of conspiracies.

  100. Hi Worf, Clif, Mike and Volt, Shippey, Clippy, Moomey and Bully -- I'm sorry I've been away. I have been blogging on my 7 Facebook pages which link to 15, 0000 people over there.

This case in Cleveland with the predator Ariel Castro has opened up a can of worms in other cases. I've been trying to help my friend, a domestic abuse survivor who was left for dead by her billionaire husband and then captured by a predator who locked her up and put a camera on her. We rescued her with the help of police. Her children still don't know she is alive. The husband is very powerful and with the help of KKK members in his lavish gated community, he has managed to tell such horrible stories about his saintly wife, the whole town thinks she did this to herself. She has brain damage from an aneurysim caused by the husband who bashed her head in with a hammer.

I am reporting on this and another case I am helping with. The article coincides with a book I'm writing, but not the COMEDY book. This article will be posted soon here: THE ABUSE OF WOMEN

The sexual objectification and demeaning way women are treated in our society has contributed to the sex crimes and abductions.

I also want to do a story on suicides on the increase due to the loss of hope and financial problems.

We all must keep our hope. Please don't give up. If I could take everyone into my home and hold you and comfort you, I would. I am so sad that people in middle age are giving up hope because they have no place to turn. The hardest thing is to lose your ability to make a living and to suffer in silence.

My younger brother was one of these people.

I love you all. It is time to help each other and learn what we came here for. It's time to change the world.

Meanwhile, the key to happiness is to give, give, give to others. Generosity and helping others is the key to happiness.

All my suffering is a result of thinking about myself too much.
    Blessings and MORE LATER
