Pray for our troops all over the world, veterans, active military past and present. These are the people who have our backs, and give the ultimate sacrifice.
Regarding the Gulf Oil Cleanup. I cannot linger in the blame game much longer, or I'll keel over from anger. My throat gets tight and blood rushes to my neck and I want to scream and jump out a window I get so angry at BP and the big conglomerates and the mining companies and the lawmakers who approved deregulation of the safety regulations, banking regulations, methane gas regulations... as well as those who think unions are socialist. This is unconscionable. this is corporate socialism. People are more important than a corporation's bottom line.
Anyway, I have a very strong sixth sense, an intuitive feeling that won't go away: VITAMIN C POWDER CRYSTALS DUMPED IN MASSIVE AMOUNTS WITH HAY BAILS WOULD DISPERSE AND DE-TOX THE GULF OIL SLUDGE. Hay and lemons too. Does this sound crazy?

Reporting from Jerusalem Israel faced a diplomatic firestorm Monday over its deadly attack against a protest flotilla carrying humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
Foreign leaders and protest organizers accused Israel of using excessive force in the raid in international waters, but Israel defended its actions, saying that soldiers were ambushed with knives and metal bars, as well as handguns wrested from the commandos.
Israel's military said nine protesters were killed in the late-night raid, which occurred about 40 miles off Israel's coast. Protest organizers put the death toll at 16. Dozens were wounded, including seven Israeli soldiers.

Video of the attack released by the Israeli military, Turkish television and other media sources depicted a dramatic high-seas brawl in which Israeli commandos rappelled from helicopters onto a ship and immediately clashed with activists on board.
Responding to the brewing crisis, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cut short his visit to Canada to return to Israel and canceled a much-anticipated White House visit with President Obama.
U.S. officials expressed regret at the loss of life but stopped short of criticizing Israel until full details of the incident were released.
Elsewhere, however, international leaders condemned Israel's interception of the pro-Palestinian convoy, which was attempting to break through Israel's blockade of the Gaza Strip and bring food, medical supplies, clothing and constructions supplies to the impoverished territory.
As the United Nations Security Council held an emergency meeting, French President Nicolas Sarkozy criticized Israel's "disproportionate use of force."
U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called for a "thorough investigation" into the violence, saying he was "shocked" by the reports.
Turkey, a onetime ally of Israel, recalled its ambassador to Israel and warned of further actions.

I noticed you listed 'wife' as third on your "happy" list. hmmmm

ReplyDeleteWhat do you think of my solution to the Oil spill cleanup?

ReplyDeleteWhat do you think of my solution to the Oil spill cleanup?
Well, its um...unique?
lol, seriously I've never heard anything about Vitamin C breaking up oil. I know its an antioxidant but how it would work on crude oil like that I am not sure.
Also, even if it does work the cost would seem prohibitive, considering the cost of Vitamin C.
I think a simpler approach to the "clean up" aspect would be this idea I came up with. Well, I didn't really come up with it, its just sort of "there" you know?
ReplyDeleteI was watching the NBC News with Brian Williams and he said that there were a lot of foreign tankers mulling around the spill area and that BP was "taking steps to keep them from TRAFFICKING in the spilled oil".
:|
Well, think about it. These tankers which can suck up millions of gallons of seawater and oil, are there trying to "steal" some of the spilled oil.
So why not just GIVE IT TO THEM?
Why not just let them have it?
Why not just declare "FREE OIL WEEK IN THE GULF", and let all the foreign vessels that have the tanks to suck up seawater come in, and take out as much of the oil as they can carry.
Then when they get to their ports they can separate the oil from the water and reap the profits.
The oil would be gone in no time.
We'd still have to stop the leak, but the clean up would be a breeze.
ReplyDeleteIt would cost us nothing.
And you know why we're NOT doing that?
:|
Because BP seems to be more concerned about keeping the oil for themselves than getting it cleaned up.
Oh wow, I can't believe this! Of course just give it to them!! OBAMA has to take over and get North Sea experts to help and put a nuclear sub hull over the leak and stop BP from trying to save the well for themselves. That's why it isn't going "well."
ReplyDeleteOn weekend and after school, I'm home with a houseful of teens. Last week it was really exploding here: BB guns, dishes breaking.. :)

"going well"? lol
Yea, I think the Navy constitutes the best deepwater experts out there, and who's better at underwater demolitions?
But definitely they should not be stopping foreign vessels from scooping up some of the oil to sell it if they can pick it up.
It's a free clean up, and that's good for everyone. Except of course BP.
James Cameron, director of Titanic and Avatar is also on the panel of experts trying to figure out how to solve the oil spill crisis.
ReplyDeleteWell here Lydia. If you want to help, then use your voice to get people thinking about this.
ReplyDeleteBrian Williams reported several nights ago on the Nightly News that BP and the Coast Guard were taking steps to stop ship from “trafficking in the spilled oil“.
I’m not making that up. Giant Supertankers are lurking around the oil spill and they have the ability to take in millions of gallons of seawater, including the oil with it. Then they can take it to their own countries, separate the oil from the water and “traffic in the oil”, i.e. sell it.
So if they can sell it, they first have to pick it up, right? So if they can pick it up, why are we stopping them?
These supertankers could control the spilled oil for FREE!
Then those working on stopping the leak could focus on that while others are sucking up the oil.
This is not some hairbrained idea, this is real.
It will work but NO ONES TALKING ABOUT THIS.
Here is the precise quote, from Brian Williams.
ReplyDeleteI listened to the broadcast online again and transcribed it myself. Here is exactly what he said.
“Meanwhile at one of the busiest ports in the nation, mobile bay in Alabama crews are being deployed there to make sure ships coming into the bay are not trafficking in that oil from the spill.”
Brian Williams, NBC Nightly News 5-26-2010
And if you don’t believe me, then listen for yourself.

Don't most people think that if these ships want to come and take the oil, that maybe we should be letting them?
ReplyDeleteMost people, ...do not think.
