REST IN PEACE MICHAEL JACKSON * Sarah Palin is doing the right thing

MICHAEL JACKSONS MEMORIAL SERVICE

Right now, news helicopters are hovering over our house which is near the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, where the Jackson family is convening after the amazing memorial service.

The saddest part: Paris Michael Katherine, 11, broke down in sobs and said "My daddy was the best father you could ever imagine..."

Jermaine Jackson touched me deeply, with his beautiful voice and quiet suffering, singing "Smile" by Charlie Chaplin, Michael's favorite song from "Modern Times."

I adore Jermaine, and got to introduce him on Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve. What a loving, gentle soul.

Brooke Shields was wonderful too.

To all the cynics who believe he was guilty: he was innocent. Not only was he found innocent by a jury of his peers, but at the deepest level he was the purest soul. he was COMPLETELY innocent of all charges, and I know it as I know my own children, as I know the sun will come up tomorrow.

People just can't understand a pure soul. If anything, Michael was asexual.

Rest in Peace, Michael.

.

From 5pm, MTV News will be covering the event with a special 1 hour build -up to the show, followed by the full star-studded service which will include the likes of Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson, Usher and Stevie Wonder.

Also performing is 12-year-old Britain's Got Talent star Shaheen Jafargholi who will sing his rendition of Who's Lovin You.

The full line-up confirmed so far include Kobe Bryant, Mariah Carey, Berry Gordy, Jennifer Hudson, Magic Johnson, Martin Luther King III, Bernice A. King, John Mayer, Lionel Richie, Smokey Robinson, Rev. Al Sharpton, Brooke Shields, Usher, Shaheen Jafargholi and Stevie Wonder.

An estimated one billion viewers worldwide will watch today's event as mourners tune into Jackson's send-off at the Los Angeles stadium.

Update:
I actually find myself liking Sarah Palin now. Today I watched her again when she made her resignation announcement from Wasilla, and I saw a sweet, world-weary, vulnerable woman with a deep sadness and disappointment in Washington for its prissy, 7th grade Gossip Boy mentality, and for the predators in the media.

Look, I had nothing good to say about her during the disgusting election campaign — and was horrified that she used race-baiting and right-wing fringe-loony baiting, in saying President Obama was "paling around with terrorists". And at the time I judged her harshly and assumed she was a narcissist. Even now I have no idea if she's being authentic right now, but I suspect her heart has been damaged by the ugliness of politics. I actually think she is making the smartest decision for her family. Anyway, as Abraham Lincoln said: "A winner never quits and a quitter never wins." So she wouldn"t stand a chance winning the GOP nomination.

"It's so much easier to write a resume than to craft a spirit." - Anna Quindlen

All the recent deaths have made some of us wake up and realize life is too short. We have to cherish our loved ones and go for our dreams.

After reading Anna Quinlan's letter about family values, I admire Sarah Palin for choosing to get out of politics, and I will take her at her word.

As a mom, from a mom's point of view — with so many people in the public eye dying lately -- it brings home the fact with startling poignancy — that life is too short to waste a moment being unhappy and ruining your children's lives.

I think maybe she woke up in the nick of time and realized her blind ambition was destroying her family.

I blinked and my kids were in puberty. I was too busy for a few minutes and they went
from being sweet 10 and 11 year olds to obnoxious jerks!! I wish I had savored the sweet phase a little longer.

I have a hunch she read the following speech and decided life was too short to abandon her children for the dirty mud-slinging world of politics.

This was a speech made by Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Anna Quindlen at

the graduation ceremony of an American university where she was awarded an

Honorary PhD.

Most brilliant, to the point speech to get all of us thinking....

"I'm a novelist. My work is human nature. Real life is all I know. Don't

ever confuse the two, your life and your work. You will walk out of here

this afternoon with only one thing that no one else has. There will be

hundreds of people out there with your same degree: there will be thousands

of people doing what you want to do for a living. But you will be the only

person alive who has sole custody of your life. Your particular life. Your

entire life. Not just your life at a desk or your life on a bus or in a car

or at the computer. Not just the life of your mind, but the life of your

heart. Not just your bank accounts but also your soul.

People don't talk about the soul very much anymore. It's so much easier to

write a resume than to craft a spirit. But a resume is cold comfort on a

winter' night, or when you're sad, or broke, or lonely, or when you've

received your test results and they're not so good.

Here is my resume: I am a good mother to three children. I have tried never

to let my work stand in the way of being a good parent. I no longer consider

myself the centre of the universe. I show up. I listen. I try to laugh. I am

a good friend to my husband. I have tried to make marriage vows mean what

they say. I am a good friend to my friends and them to me. Without them,

there would be nothing to say to you today, because I would be a cardboard

cut out. But I call them on the phone and I meet them for lunch. I would be

rotten, at best mediocre, at my job if those other things were not true.

You cannot be really first rate at your work if your work is all you are. So

here's what I wanted to tell you today: Get a life. A real life, not a manic

pursuit of the next promotion, the bigger pay cheque, the larger house. Do

yo think you'd care so very much about those things if you blew an aneurysm

one afternoon or found a lump in your breast?

Get a life in which you notice the smell of salt water pushing itself on a

breeze at the seaside, a life in which you stop and watch how a red-tailed

hawk circles over the water, or the way a baby scowls with concentration

when she tries to pick up a sweet with her thumb and first finger.

Get a life in which you are not alone. Find people you love, and who love

you. And remember that love is not leisure, it is work. Pick up the phone.

Send an email. Write a letter. Get a life in which you are generous. And

realize that life is the best thing ever, and that you have no business

taking it for granted. Care so deeply about its goodness that you want to

spread it around. Take money you would have spent on beer and give it to

charity. Work in a soup kitchen. Be a big brother or sister. All of you want

to do well. But if yo do not do good too, then doing well will never be

enough.

It is so easy to waste our lives, our days, our hours, and our minutes. It

is so easy to take for granted the colour of our kids' eyes, the way the

melody in a symphony rises and falls and disappears and rises again. It is

so easy to exist instead of to live.

I learned to live many years ago. I learned to love the journey, not the

destination. I learned that it is not a dress rehearsal, and that today is

the only guarantee you get. I learned to look at all the good in the world

and try to give some of it back because I believed in it, completely and

utterly. And I tried to do that, in part, by telling others what I had

learned. By telling them this: Consider the lilies of the field. Look at the

fuzz on a baby's ear. Read in the back yard with the sun on your face.

Learn to be happy. And think of life as a terminal illness, because if you

do, you will live it with joy an passion as it ought to be lived".

Here is a picture of Lake Geneva in Wisconsin, my son took this with his i-phone last week.

  1. Well I certainly don't think its the right thing to quit your job and walk off leaving the job unfinished and turning your back on the people who voted for you.

Being the Governor isn't about Palin. It's about the State of Alaska and the people of the State of Alaska.

Now I'm not saying they're not likely better off without her. Obviously they are.

But just quitting, from what most of the insiders are saying is to make more money, is a pathetic and irresponsible thing to do.

I bet her voters don't care about her personal matters. They elected her to do a job. And she just turned her back on them.

    Some leader.

  2. I admire your willingness to extend the benefit of the doubt to someone who pretty much has been a lie since the days of her multiple-college youth.

She has accomplished absolutely nothing positive during her reign as America's Welfare Queen. It is highly likely that several dozen Alaskan natives froze to death last winter because she couldn't have her schedule interrupted down in the "outside." She introduced, and then stoked, a venomous racist-fueled hatred of the President that cannot be divorced from the many recent acts of right-wing violence. She turned Wasilla into a gutter of strip malls and meth houses. And, I believe, this decision to quit will soon be married up to even more unpleasantness just down the road.

Her greed, Narcissism, and utter stupidity have set the image of American women in the world back another 10 years (to add to the 20 years Lecondel Rice managed to set it back.) And having watched her pimp out her obviously-troubled family during the last campaign cycle, I respectfully have to disagree with the notion that Sarahpoleon ever gave a damn about anyone but herself.

  3. I understand the family values thing and that's fine. But when you swear an executive oath then you're bound to uphold that oath and serve the people you swore to serve.

You don't just walk off the job and turn your back on those people you swore an oath to.

That shows utter irresponsibility and selfishness. Two qualities not associated with leadership.

  6. You're a piece of work (actually, you're a piece of something else but whatever), Bart. I DON'T criticize right-wingers and I'm a right-winger. I DO criticize right-wingers and I'm still a right-winger BECAUSE I'M ONLY MAKING BELIEVE!!! Catch 22, and from an idiot, too, no less. Oh, and, Clif. I NEVER said that diplomacy doesn't work. I'm against frigging war (95% of 'em anyway), you straw-man creating unemployable stooge. I DO support Obama. I even kind of like him (well, except for the out of control spending). I was directing that comment more at you stooges. You have this idiotic notion that only Republicans are idiots. That's ridiculous. Any free-thinking person who follows politics KNOWS that that's ridiculous. The Democrats just got done passing a bill that mandates that people refurbish their houses before they can sell them. AND THEY DID THIS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF A HOUSING DEPRESSION!!!!!!!!! DUH! And, yes, it was a Republican administration that got us involved knee-deep overseas - so they're idiots, too. They're ALL idiots.

  7. Yes, Obama has good credentials. But so, too, does Ann Coulter. She graduated cum laude from Cornell and was Order of the Coif at U. of Michigan law school (the 9th best law school in the nation according to U.S. News and World Report). And, yes, she was an editor at the Michigan Law Review. Hm. Still think credentials are important?

    ReplyDelete
  8. But Will, Ann Coulter lacks the only thing that's important in life: human kindness.

But she can still change -- when she finally wakes up and realizes she is all alone surrounded by crowds.

I always tell my kids: no matter what you accomplish or acquire in life, if you're not kind to others, you've missed the whole point.

Does anyone remember any pundit in history or any "cynic" except for the good deeds they do? If Mother Theresa had merely been a pious moralistic nun, and hadn't reached out to those Christ commanded us to help -- the downtrodden, the poorest of the poor -- would she be so loved and revered even after death?

    Love is all that matters.

Please read my post. This is truly the best speech ever given at a University by a Pulitzer Prize winner.

  11. What we do see you doing, is defending the right while constantly attacking the left.

Like you did last night when you gleefully declared "we still have Biden to laugh at" and included the President, actually insinuating that he was dumb for making a flub about the states.

The guy graduated from Harvard and was the editor of the Harvard law review. You think he doesn't know how many states there are?

    It was a misspeak.

But you seized on it, repeating it and mocking him as a fool, along with Vice President Biden, declaring "WE" have them to laugh at.

In that moment, you forgot your disguise, and channeled cRusty.

In that moment, you showed as clearly as could possibly be shown, that you are nothing more than the right wing troll scum, that we always knew you were.

And worse than most right wing troll scum, because you're too much the wimp to admit what you are, and instead use deceit and deception to sell your right wing garbage.

You're an obsessed nutcase, who set up a fake blog to try and fool people into thinking you're a liberal, so you could water down left wing talking points and shore up right wing ones.

No, you just dragged the President and his success at Harvard, the number ONE school, down to that of Coulters, comparing him to her.

Just like last night when you dragged Keith Olberman down to the level of Sean Hannity, a proven liar.

    Hannity lies constantly.

Olberman is openly biased but he does not lie.

Yet you put them in the same class.

Just like a good little lying concern troll would do.

  21. Palin is a joke. Her sudden resignation comes out just days after a CBS story airs showing leaked emails between her and McCain's campaign strategist Steve Schmidt, where she asks Schmidt to LIE to the public and the press about Todd's membership in a secessionist party.

Schmidt actually rebukes her in his responding message and refuses to spread her lie.

"The statement you are suggesting be released would be inaccurate.

The inaccuracy would bring greater media attention to this matter and be a distraction.

We will not put out a statement and inflame this and create a situation where john has to adress this."

    - Steve Schmidt

So now Palin up and quits, because she can't handle the pressure.

So ends her chances of being President.

Or even a ONE Term Governor.

    Because she's quitting.

    Walking off the job.

With a year and a half to go on it.

Never even finishing her FIRST Term.

Making her highest qualification being the Mayor of a small Alaskan town of around 7000 people.

    :)

There's your savior of the republican party for you.

Down the tubes like the rest of them.

I've made this EXACT point over a HUNDRED times.......repuggies like to compare Olberman to Hannity but or MSNBC to FOX.......but its an apples to oranges comparison, while both have a political bias, Hannity and Fox are lying propagandists while Olberman and MSNBC report the truth and facts even though they might exhibit a slight bias or report facts that portray conservatives unfavorably.........AND THATSA NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Exactly. Olberman is partisan and no one including him has ever denied that. He's open about it.

    But he doesn't lie.

Hannity is a shill for the right and constantly lies.

No "left leaning moderate" would ever put Olberman in Hannity's class.

    ReplyDelete
  25. On this very blog, I referred to John McCain as George Bush on steroids. I said that Sean Hannity was the most biased host on cable news. I said that Hank Paulsen was the worst Secretary of the Treasury in U.S. history. I totally agreed with Mike that that Cheney comment on deficits not mattering was stupid beyond the pale. And on Volt's site, I defended Obama on the Reverend Wright fiasco AND on the socialism charge. I also debated Volt by saying that I thought Obama was a pragmatist, as opposed to Volt saying that he was an ideologue (Volt may have been right on that one, unfortunately). Compare this to you guys who NEVER accuse liberals of being TOO liberal....or of being unfair.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I was a consistent critic of Fox News for 12 months before I ever knew you guys existed. For youa'll to say that I'm faking it now is just plain idiotic.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Of course, Keith Olbermann lies. He tells bald-faced lies. He slanderously lied about Baltimore Sun media critic, David Zurawik. He called him a partisan when he is in fact no such thing (the right has accused Mr. Zurawik of having Palin derangement syndrome). He lied about Fox News's Major Garrett (one of the few guys at Fox that I respect). He said that Garrett never reported James Carville's and Paul Begala's denial about working for the Obama campaign. Not only did Mr. Garrett report it, he reported it TWICE!! He lied about David Letterman apologizing twice for those miserable jokes he told about Palin. That first "apology" wasn't anywhere close to an apology. And Olbermann knows it. Does he lie as much as Hannity does? I don't kow. Maybe not. But for you to hold this lunatic up as some sort of great journalist is ludicrous. Plus, he's creepy. I'm beginning to think that he actually thinks he's Edward R. Murrow. As we can CLEARLY see by your words, you DIDNT criticize Hannity at all.........you merely mentioned his name while sliming Joe Biden and insulting his intelligence in typical snotty Right Wing derogatory manner..............your words dont lie Will........YOU DO though!

Your words paint a very clear picture of what your all about.

Really it's never. And I say that because when he does pretend to criticize the right on anything, he ALWAYS "qualifies" his criticism by putting the liberals in the same category of whatever he's condemning on the right.

Like his supposed criticism of Sean Hannity that he's been bragging about for days now. He qualified it by putting Keith Olberman in the same light.

He attacks Fox but then qualifies it with bashing MSNBC or CNN.

He never actually just attacks the right without dragging the left into it too.

Which is no real criticism at all.

That's right. He really didn't criticize Hannity. He said one little thing about Hannity and then qualified it by saying Olberman was just about as bad.

And then he brags for days how he "attacked Hannity".

Then he turns around and BASHES Olberman, I mean tears him apart, with GLEE even. Bashing him far worse than anything he said about Hannity.

Then he BASHES the President and the Vice President over NOTHING!!!

    And I do mean NOTHING!

The President made a misspeak about the number of states, something he obviously knows being a Harvard graduate and Editor of the Harvard Law review, but Will accuses him of being stupid, gleefully mocking him over this one tiny misspeak.

Something only a neocon would do.

And he bashes Biden for a little misspeak when he didn't notice the guy was in a wheelchair or it slipped his mind, so that was a reason for Will to mock and lambaste Biden.

    Over nothing.

Only a neocon troll would attack the President and Vice President like that over those two little gaffs.

    No moderate ever would.

  50. Keith Olbermann is smarter than Sean Hannity. And, yes, his humor is often more sophisticated. I even conceded that maybe he doesn't lie quite as much as Sean. I think your BS is easily refuted Willy............there is a BIG DIFFERENCE between lying and making a mistake............If Olberman does make a mistake he issues a retraction and sets the record straight, i've seen him do this several times.........Unlike Hannity who is a lying Right Wing shill who spews dishonest propaganda for the Right with no regard for the facts.

Lets do a little comparison Will and see how many facts BOTH got wrong and then how many times Olberman issued a retraction VS Hannity doing the same........i'm willing to bet the numbers will speak for themselves on who is a fact based journalist and who is a lying political hack just like your words in here do.

  55. Yep Will I have slimed Palin.........I dont think she's a serious person or a capable competent leader and I have slimed and mocked her.......I can admit it.

BTW you sound Angry.........you need to chill out!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Again, Mike, 12 months of criticizing Fox News BEFORE I EVER MET YOU GUYS. You still have no good counter for that, do you? As for Olbermann, the fellow started off O.K., but now he is absoluely shameless. The man is literally obsessed with Palin and, I'm telling you, it's starting to get really creepy. Outrage fatigue, Mike, you don't ever get that? Ever?

    ReplyDelete
  57. I don't think that Palin is a serious candidate, either. What do you say we end it on that nice moment of agreement?

    ReplyDelete
  58. That's all the concern troll wants.

To make people think he said something reasonable.

Anyone dumb enough to believe Will is anything more than an obsessed lunatic who set up a blog to fool liberals and progressives into thinking he was one also, has my sympathy.

    ReplyDelete
  59. He posts several lines bashing anyone criticizing Palin, and he posts one line saying he doesn't "think that Palin is a serious candidate, either".

    See what he does there?

He mocks Keith Olberman for talking about Palin, even though the only time he talks about her is when SHE holds NEWS CONFERENCES!!!

    :|

The right wing trolls in every blog are selling this "you're obsessed with Palin" talking point.

Now we see Will also selling it.

Ignoring the fact that it was PALIN who came out and called the News Conference where she QUIT AS GOVERNOR.

And according to Will, Olbermans "obsessed" with her.

For talking about her while everyone else is too.

So, pointing out a gaffe by a politician is sliming and attacking them? Wow, so you're going to have to admit that you've been sliming and attacking Sarah Palin like a madman, huh? You guys said that now that Palin is gone there'll be nobody to laugh at anymore. I was trying to point out that there will in fact plenty of people to laugh at. And, yes, Mike, some of those people might even be Democrats. 57 states. I mean, come on, can you even begin to fathom the smack-talk on Palin if SHE had said something that stupid? You guys would have been falling all over yourselves.

    See?

All will does is bash the left, and defend the extreme far right.

    ReplyDelete
  64. The Neoconservative right is currently out in force in left wing blogs, selling the following talking point.

    1. ANYONE TALKING ABOUT SARAH PALIN IS OBSESSED WITH HER

This is the talking point currently being pushed right now in liberal blogs by the right wing.

They ignore the fact that it was Sarah Palin who put Sarah Palin in the news last week. They ignore the fact she just called a crazy press conference where she announced she was quitting her job.

Instead they just push the talking point that "any liberal talking about her is obsessed with her".

And here we see, will, likewise calling Keith Olberman, "obsessed" with her.

Even though SHE called a wacky press conference out of the blue, in which she resigned as Governor.

Even though EVERYONES talking about this dramatic development in a recent vice Presidential candidate and front runner in the RNC.

Even with ALL THAT, Will says he's "Obsessed with her".

Parroting the current talking point response to the Palin incident by the neocon right.

    :|

If anyones fooled by will, they really have my sympathy.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Go into any left wing blog right now where Palin is the topic, and you'll see Willies counterpart trolls, telling anyone talking about her that they are "obsessed with her".

The word "obsessed" was handed down to the bootlickers by the powers that be (Rove and company) and all the little drones are out chanting it in unison.

Just like we see will, chanting it along with them.

Because he is one of them.

Bartlebee, you're a liar (or a stupid idiot, I'm not quite sure on this one). I have NEVER, EVER, negatively criticized CNN. And I challenge you to find one instance where I did. I have consistently said that CNN is BY FAR the best of the 3 cable news channels. And, yes, I've also said that Fox AND MSNBC are both disgraceful. The fact that you guys find that to be a controversial statement only shows how partisan you are.

My point was you brought Fox up to the level of other news channels.

Whether it was CNN, MSNBC, NBC, is irrelevant. If it wasn't CNN but MSNBC, then fine. The point was you put Fox on the same status of regular news channels.

MSNBC is a real news channel and the daytime news is just regular news. Fox however shows partisan biased news during the day and presents it as real news.

MSNBC does do the editorial shows, like Hardball, Olberman etc, but it's mixed. For a long time Joe Scarborough was on MSNBC. Matthews is clearly a centrist, or at least used to be. In fact he was a Bush supporter for years, and his editorial show leaned that way heavily. So even the editorials aren't even remotely like Fox's, except Olberman and Maddow are both openly liberal. But at the end of the day these are editorial and opinion shows not presented as news.

MSNBC shows regular news during the day while Fox shows right wing propaganda and calls it news.

Only a neocon would liken MSNBC to Fox Fake News.

    ReplyDelete
  68. While your daytime assessment of MSNBC is spot on..........I dont think I can agree with calling Olberman and Madow "opinion" shows.........while they clearly have a liberal bias, They also clearly present facts and the truth unlike Fox which is ONLY Right Wing propaganda and partisan opion with little to no facts.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  70. So, Bart your lies/mistakes are immaterial, huh? How convenient. Olbermann piles on Palin no matter what she does. He crapped on her before, during, and after the press conference. He craps on her virtually every show. On this very blog (you blind, dishonest bastard), I said that that I didn't think that Palin had the gravitas to run for president. Volt challenged me. Idiot.

What's shameless is your determination to trash the president over some sort of tiny misspeak, grasping at anything you can to trash his intelligence.

You cling to that 57 states exactly as the neocons are doing in their blogs, or the neocon trolls are doing in ours.

  117. You went around stating that the Dulles brothers blocked the elections. They didn't. Diem did..

You ignorant foole, Diem was the puppet of the Dulles brothers thru Col. Edward Landsdale, the CIA handler Alan Dulles sent to south Vietnam. It is like how Bush used Iraqi puppets to set up an interm government while Bremer really ran the show.

Our choice was to try and work with him or throw suppport to the Soviet-backed ass-hole up north.

Wrong again sparky, they could have STAYED out and allowed the Vietnamese to fix their own problems, why can't you acknowledge this was the ONLY correct path, which wouldn't have ended up with MILLIONS of dead people.

What Ike chose what what literally any other mainstream politician of the day would have chosen.

Wrong again sparky, he could have chosen the correct path, stay out of internal affairs and allow democracy to work, instead reich-wing radical repubies interfere and end up screwing up for decades like they ALWAYS do.

It was the same policy that J.F.K. initially chose and broadened upon (military advisors, Clif).

The lies they told him originally?

The lies kennedy saw thru AFTER the lies about the CIA planned coup in Cuba failed,

Kennedy was withdrawing from Vietnam in 1963, so when he realized ALAN DULLES (head of CIA)who was still the crack pot reich wing radical he had always been, Kennedy fired Dulles and changed course.

You mean like And even if Ike hadn't made the choice that he did, and hostilities ultimately erupted (as they most assuradley would have),

You have absolutely NO proof of that skippy, there your inner reich wing is showing again,

You claim something you can not ever know as inevitable to justify a fascist imperialist move by Eisenhower, and the Dulles brothers which lead to a two decade fiasco.

Why would violence erupt if 90% of the Vietnamese people wanted Ho to win the elections that were slated for 1956 the Dulles brothers BLOCKED thru Edward Landsdale guiding their puppet Diem.

You make assertions with NO factual proof but want everyone to accept it as gospel, sorta like the way bush ET Al did in the run up to the illegal Iraq invasion, and YOU wonder why we say you are another reich-wing stooge?

    ReplyDelete
  118. there is no guarantee that a subsequent president (Kennedy, L.B.J., Nixon)wouldn't have intervened.

YOU ignorant Moron, how would yhye intervene if there is NO insurrection cause Ho won so NO revolt against the Dulles brothers puppet in the south?

More projection of your historical fantasy so you can maintain Eisenhower didn't screw the pooch in Vietnam.

there would have not been a reason for hundreds of thousands of South Vietnamese to organize into the Viet Cong to revolt if diem had lost and gone away, but you claim if they had gotten what they wanted violence would have still broken out,

    Up the meds son.

    Fareed Zakaria greatly admires Eisenhower.

Well since he supported Ronald Reagan in the 1980's and Bush's illegal invasion of Iraq, that makes sense.

Hell the bozo claims the "surge" worked instead of admitting Petraeus bribed the Sunnis to stop fighting. (which is what really stopped the attacks if the Sunnis)

Barack Obama greatly admires him, too.

Got a link to show Obama admires eiosenhower's illegal interference in Vietnam?

Or is this just more of your anal cavity facts you spout here often?

It seems like your the only one who can't see beyond the R in front of his name.

sorry son that is your straw man argument, the origin of this was the claim that Johnson and Kennedy started Vietnam where the intrusion into Vietnamese internal affairs started under Eisenhower when the colonial power France was defeated cause the radical reich-wing Dulles brothers wanted to replace France as the Imperial power pulling the strings, and Eisenhower allowed them to. Which means he agreed undercutting democracy and the right for the people of Vietnam to choose their own future. He seemed to forget that that never worked in Europe in the first half of the 1940's, given the French, Dutch, Yugoslav, ET AL resistance to German domination.

Seems you can't deal with the truth can ya son?

I didn't mention J.R., Bart. I mentioned MCH, Jim, and Frank Frey. And, no, I haven't seen their names near as much as I used to

Well I don't know who Jim is so I doubt his absence has anything to do with me. But I've seen Frank in, and you lied about Lydia, who just responded to JR and myself earlier in the thread, and has commented as she normally does.

What we're seeing here is a desperate troll grasping at anything random out of the blue that he can come up with in the way of personal attacks to try and badger me with.

Unfortunately you were proven wrong right out of the gate.

Yes, Bartlebee, I set up a moderate/liberal blog, posted on it for 12 months, just so I could play a trick on people who I didn't even know existed.

Only you did know they existed, because you were here under another handle.

And it had nothing to do with "playing a trick" on people.

It had to do with setting up a liberal persona to use to water down liberal talking points and shore up your far right wing neocon ideology which is all we see you ever doing in here.

  132. Me thinks widdle will is becoming a wee bit unhinged with his sorry attempt at discerning a history that never happened but HE KNOWS how it would have played out ..... either that or another failed date.

  133. After watching the Al Franken vs Bill-O dust up at crooks and liars;

It seems widdle will- la id-a-jet is actually channeling Bill-O now a days (all the anger and all the dishonesty included) unlike Colbert who parodies Bill-O la buffoon

    ReplyDelete
  134. After Franken exposes how much Bill-O LIED about his supposed "peabody", and then lied by saying he never said it,

Bill-O comes back to say he mis-spoke,

reminds me of widdle will's weak-assed excuses for his lies and deceit here and elsewhere on the tubes.

This blog supports quitters like Palin so Worfy must feel right at home since he throws tantrums at blondie and quits.

  137. That is a bald-faced lie, Bartlebee. I have NEVER, EVER blogged here under another handle. This is just an ad hoc explanation to justify your idiotic claims. I mean, this is a brand new one for you.

  138. Oops, my ears were burning.

Ok, to be honest, my attentions lately have been focused on other areas. Sometimes I just have to step away from politics to lessen my stress levels a bit. GofW's reappearance any my not being around is a sheer coincidence.

I appreciate the kind words and compliments Will. Obviously, we havent discussed it but I have a feeling Worf and I are falling back into one of those "leave me alone and I'll do likewise" bits ... which suits me fine.

  139. Yes, Lydia posted early in the thread. She responded to you/your points by saying, "you guys". As for Jim, let me remind you about him. He's the guy who you kept saying was nothing but one of Lydia's sock-puppet. MCH, you don't want to talk about him, do you?

    ReplyDelete
  140. Hi MCH. I meant it. You're good people. You've been very fair and gracious to me and that's a fact.

    ReplyDelete
  141. I got a couple of emails from Jim not long ago ... he's an odd one but I definitely mean that in a good way. I honestly would love to meet the guy.

    ReplyDelete
  142. I've always found you to be good people also, Will. We dont agree on everything but we do have our common ground ... as I have common ground with everybody in here. Shoot, for that matter I dont agree with Lydia on everything.

  143. I'm not a Republican, J.R.. And I haven't voted Republican for president since George H.W. Bush in 1988. I almost voted for W in 2000 (as Mike apparently did, too) but changed my mind and voted for Nader. That's number 1. Number 2 is that I was totally against the Vietnam War. While, yes, I think it may have had some noble intent, it was an extremely unwise and wasteful undertaking. I just object vociferously to Clffy's assertion that Eisenhower was solely to blame for the tragedy. It's ridiculous. Truman started the Asian containment policy and Eisenhower, Kennedy, L.B.J. (the biggest liar of them all - "I will never send American boys to do the fighting that Asian boys....."), and Nixon followed. I mean, does Cliffy actually think that Truman (a staunch anti-Communist, as were Kennedy and Nixon) would have handled 1954 any differently. Hell, if anything, he would have been more provacative.

  144. On social issues and foreign policy, MCH, I bet that we agree almost completely. Fiscal matters, yes, I'm probably more of a blue dog. But, hey, that's why we developed the fine art of compromise, right? LOL

Worfy is a bonafide quitter and soon and very soon it will be tantrum time and quitting again.

  146. I just object vociferously to Clffy's assertion that Eisenhower was solely to blame for the tragedy.

That is another LIE you told,

    I just said HE STARTED our illegal involvement in Vietnam not Kennedy or Johnson;

you for some reason can't accept it.

    But it is the truth;

If Eisenhower hadn't allowed the Dulles Brothers thru the CIA agent Edward Landsdale and their puppet Deim to illegally involve the CIA in preventing a democracy and free elections, the entire foreign policy fiasco of the insurrection against diem and the dictatorial government in the south wouldn't have happened in the late 1950's so no WAR could have resulted in the 1960 based ion the insurrection of the Viet Cong against Diem and his successors

Sorry but Ike allowed the Dulles brothers to F*@K UP US foreign policy and we are still paying for it.

    ReplyDelete
  147. See widdle willy boy, your inner reich wing is a showin' again son.

You went from started our illegal involvement to solely to blame

sorta the way reich wing trolls change what people actually say and construct straw man arguments based on their own deception, like YOU DID.

Your as shallow as you are transparent concern boy.

Yes, Lydia posted early in the thread. She responded to you/your points by saying, "you guys".

    That's right.

And since there were only two guys making the point and in fact, the only two to have posted at that point, she responded to us.

You said Lydia didn't post when I was here. That's what you said.

Yet the first four comments showing Lydia not only posting when I'm here, but responding to a comment I and one other blogger made. Which means you lied.
