SARAH PALIN QUALIFIED TO BE A PUPPET

SARAH PALIN, GEORGE BUSH IN LIPSTICK, IS NOT QUALIFIED TO BE COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF

PALINMANIA IS OVER * PALIN FAILS TO DELIVER

There are no words to describe how under-qualified and BAD a choice this woman is.
and how bad John McCain's whacked judgment was that he would actually hire this woman.

Her record is overwhelmingly mixed in Alaska. In a time when the state is having a boom because of the oil industry.

So stop with how popular she is...she is popular because of huge oil windfalls affording the oil companies being okay with getting taxed more and the return flowing into her state.

This is not the local Town Board Chair election!!!!

This is the person who should known and have known the Bush Doctrine and all of that recent history...and the details of Israel...and known what answering like that about Israel does to our job in the middle east peace process...and how it complicates it...

This is ridiculous. That woman you saw last night ...you really think she should be deciding if we go to war or deciding whether "nucular" missiles should be launched or American commercial jetliners should be be shot down over NYC

Gov Palin what if it were a Russian commercial airliner? or British? or Pakistani? Would you know the ramifications of such a choice?

You all should be feeling nauseous from that interview last night.

Absolutely ridiculous that that person on that interview ...would be close to any position of leadership...never mind the Leader of the freakin free world... like was said before...this is not some Disney movie.

Jesu$ how stupid can we be for a third time."
Posted by: dl | Sep 12, 2008 9:01:26 AMComment on ABC Newt Gingrich article:

SPECIAL: According to Pat Buchanan, Sarah Palin was coached by Randy Scheunemann, McCain's lobbyist and campaign adviser who campaigned for the Iraq War and the recent Georgia crisis, in her interview with Charlie Gibson. She was obviously coached to repeatedly say "We cannot second guess Israel if they want to bomb Iran" (paraphrase) She repeated one answer like robot. This is frightening. She is being briefed with key words and is already a tool of the neocons. Pat Buchanan is more worried. He thinks "this is the real Sarah Palin."

Whatever the case, it became clear on Friday that there was a general consensus among observers: Palin failed to present herself as the strong leader many hoped she would be. On the other hand, she did not ‘flunk’ the test either. Gibson, most agree, purposefully tried to corner the Republican running mate. Although Palin did not deal with this as well as someone in her position should, she did not entirely allow Gibson to blow her away either. She made the points she wanted to make - a hawkish politician, believing Islamic extremists to pose a serious threat to America - and let the conservative base hear what it wanted to hear.

Her performance will, it seems likely, bring an end to Palinmania in so far that voters have now also seen her weaknesses at display. She was shortly presented as a political genius, single-handedly able to crush Barack Obama. The interview put her solidly back on earth.

In the meantime, her nomination has achieved what it wanted to achieve in the short run; two weeks of positive coverage, and a significant boost in the polls for John McCain. It is now up to him to win the battle with Obama.

Today, September 11, we have a day of peace and reflection. This is a memory day and we all need to go within, quiet ourselves, stop hating, stop fighting and stop harboring revenge for our "enemies." I honestly believe our biggest enemy is within. We have to consider that we, the people, are the only ones that can really destroy ourselves. A divided country will not stand.

For John McCain to use the slogan "Country First" without acknowledging that our country is comprised of both Democrats and Republicans — makes me think he is talking about country music first. What country is he talking about? Is he only referring to the America that loves war and guns? Are these the only real, valuable Americans in his eyes? I still cannot understand how a true Christian can think guns are even an option! Jesus was the Prince of Peace. But these gun-loving, Bible-toting, Republican Christians have completely thrown Christ away. They have left out love, the only thing Christ ever cared about. He commanded us to love one another — and to love our enemies as ourselves. He blessed the Peacemakers, not the warmongers. The number one law is love.

In a recent speech, John McCain said he was the one who knew how to get Osama Bin Laden. He implied he had inside information and was the ONLY one who knew how to get Bin Laden. The implied threat was "If you vote for me I will go get Bin Laden." As Keith Olbermann questioned, "Does this mean McCain won't go get Osama Bin Laden unless he wins the election?" How is this putting country first? This sounds like putting the Republican party first. Putting SELF first. But it is by "self-forgetting" that one finds.

If you really put your country first, you seek first to understand rather than be understood. You reach out to your fellow Americans, the ones Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Ann Coulter and Dick Cheney constantly bash and systematically destroy by using what they consider the dirtiest word in the English language: "Liberal." You don't lie, slander and smear your fellow American's good name by calling him a "pervert" for wanting to teach kindergardeners about how to say NO to sex predators.

As I said on our radio show this morning, being kept in fear for 7 years is the exact objective of terrorism. Bush, Cheney and McCain have kept us in fear, the way terrorists would — as a deliberate method of retaining power. While America implodes from within — economically and physically (our infrastructure, schools, hospitals, health care system, banks, military and cities left in despair like New Orleans) this is a form of terrorism they helped to create. Do you feel safer?
God Bless America - love, Lydia ...September 11, 2008 I am 14 years sober!

Sean Hannity, who just got a 100 million dollar deal from Clear Channel, shows how fair and balanced he is. And honest.

From NewsHounds.us:

Multimillionaire Sean Hannity proved last night (9/10/08) on Hannity & Colmes he’s not just a loudmouthed blowhard but seriously out of touch with everyday Americans. As author and economist Robert Kuttner politely tried to discuss the economic challenges Barack Obama would face as president, Hannity had a bullyboy meltdown at the suggestion that the economy is in trouble and that ordinary Americans are in dire economic straits. But Kuttner kept his cool and refused to be intimidated. He challenged Hannity with comebacks like, “I don’t spew any goddamn line... Do you want to deny (the economy’s in dire straits), you fool?” He’s our latest top dog. With video.

The interview started out pleasantly with Alan Colmes probing the thesis of Kuttner's new book, Obama's Challenge, that Obama will need to be a “transformative” president in order to effectively address American’s economic woes. “The economy is in such dire straits for most people,” Kuttner said.

Kuttner continued, “If people vote on whether Sarah Palin is better at shooting a moose, the Democrats are toast. And if Obama and Biden can bring the election back to the fact that the Republicans have had their shot at experimenting with letting Wall Street go nuts and it’s really harmed ordinary people, then the election turns on the economy and the Democrats win. So this is a fight about whether the election is about culture or about pocketbook issues.”

Kuttner thinks there is a narrative Democrats should use, “a narrative of the ordinary, hard-working family just getting the short end of the stick. Everything from subprime to health insurance to your pension blowing up, of your job not being secure.” He added, “And that’s a narrative that affects ordinary people. If that narrative is persuasive, the Democrats win.”

Apparently, that was just too much for Hannity’s sensitive widdle feewings. But with Hannity, sensitivity is always a one-way street. He welcomed the guest by beginning his portion of the interview by saying bombastically, “Oh, stop it. Oh, stop it. This is garbage you’re spewing here.”

  1. Hannity is a self-proclaimed McCain surrogate. He is forcing the argument away from issues, like a good little parrot.

    Meanwhile:

The war in Iraq is an issue.

The looting of our treasury is an issue.

The destruction of the Constitution and rule of law is an issue.

    Energy independence is an issue.

Our jobs and healthcare are issues.

And the Republican's message is WHAT?

This election is NOT about issues?

    Only in Amerika.

  2. I agree, in this Fox segment it was hardly balanced: Two liberals against only one conservative. But I never saw any meltdown, except for the guy who threatened to walk out if Hannity didn't stop hurting his feelings.

Normally Hannity is balanced by Colmes. Who balances that BDS adolescent Olbermann? Hannity's guest was a simple-minded Marxist who ignores the fact that the economy is not in recession and the GDP grew at 3.3% last quarter.

Hannity is right. Obviously the economy is needs help, but more taxes, more debt and bigger government -- like Obama wants -- is a recipe for disaster.

The main problem with the economy is too much debt, private and public. Obama would add even more. To reach a healthy economy adjustments must always occur -- what Friedman called creative destruction. Government pushed Fannie and Freddie to make risky loans; now there must be an adjustment.

What the financial community needs is some assurance that Congress will get some adult supervision from McCain, who will reign in their spending spree.

Even the most wide-eyed Keynesians would never dare raise taxes in the face of economic weakness. 0bama will.

Like Hannity's guest, 0bama apparently wants our free-enterprise system to fail so that the government will be forced to take over every aspect of the economy. For a preview of coming attractions, watch what Putin is doing.

In the late 1920s, the economy was in trouble, but would have recovered if the government had not tightened the money supply and thrown up protectionist trade barriers. As a result a recession became a decade-long depression.

Electing a bonehead in an empty-suit like Obama will have dire consequences. Caveat emptor.

  4. Interior Secretary "outraged" by oil-sex scandal

U.S. Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne on Thursday said he was "outraged" by department workers who had sex, used drugs and took gifts from employees at regulated oil companies, while one senator called for a Bush administration official to resign over the scandal.

The Interior Department's inspector general issued a scathing report on Wednesday that found "a culture of substance abuse and promiscuity" at the department's Minerals Management Service, whose employees handled billions of dollars in oil and natural gas supplies that were turned over by companies as in-kind royalty payments for drilling on federal lands.

"I am outraged by the immoral behavior, illegal activities, and appalling misconduct of several former and current long-serving career employees in the Minerals Management Service's royalty-in-kind program," Kempthorne said. "We will take swift action to restore the public trust."

  15. Did Georgie throw Israel under the bus?

    Ask the Iraqi government.... Ha'aretz

"The security aid package the United States has refused to give Israel for the past few months out of concern that Israel would use it to attack nuclear facilities in Iran included a large number of "bunker-buster" bombs, permission to use an air corridor to Iran, an advanced technological system and refueling planes.

Officials from both countries have been discussing the Israeli requests over the past few months. Their rejection would make it very difficult for Israel to attack Iran, if such a decision is made.

About a month ago, Haaretz reported that the Bush administration had turned down an Israeli request for certain security items that could upgrade Israel's capability to attack Iran. The U.S. administration reportedly saw the request as a sign preparations were moving ahead for an Israeli attack on Iran." Ha'aretz

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Harper" pointed out this article in today's Ha'aretz.

We have repeatedly made the point that Israel lacks the capability to make an effective set of air strikes against Iran without American help.

Among the elements of help they would need:

    - USAF air refueling tankers.

    - Enough heavy ordnance.

    - Enough attack airframes.

On the political side they need

    - Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) boxes and code settings to avoid being engaged by US aircraft.

    - Overflight clearance for Iraq if they are taking the shortest routes.

When they asked for overflight clearance for Iraq they were recently told to request it from the sovereign Iraqi government. The request for IFF codes got the cold shoulder as well.

Needless to say, this reponse came from the military and Gates. Cheney must be enraged by his lack of control over this.

Until the Russioan intervention in Gerogia, the Israelis had been trying to devise an alternative to an Iraq route. The alternative was to use Georgian airfields as staging points. They were undeterred in this scheme by the prospect of overflying SE Turkey to get to Georgia. The Russians have frightened them out of that idea. Even the Likud knows that Russia is more important than Georgia, or Iran.

If you have been following the series of articles in the Washington Post about Bob Woodward's newest study of the Bush White House, you should have noticed that retired Army general Jack Keane has been running his own foreign and military policy at Cheney's behest. To do such a thing is deelpy subversive of the statutory chain of command. This is astonishingly bad behavior. In this particular case he does not seem to have been an effective "player." pl

Remember while Palin and McSame were lying to the american people during their collective hate fest in Minneapolis, the War criminal Cheney was trying to drum up support in the caucus to aid Israel after the Pentagon squashed his other plans.

  23. BTW in a few days the distraction St Johnny is working so hard for is gonna be provided when a Katrina size Hurricane hits Houston dead center ....

    Actually a little larger then Katrina was;

Ike is now larger than Katrina was, both in its radius of tropical storm force winds--275 miles--and in it radius of hurricane force winds--115 miles. For comparison, Katrina's tropical storm and hurricane force winds extended out 230 and 105 miles, respectively.

In other words Hurricane force winds from around Port Arthur-Beaumont to Freeport, with a storm surge of over 20 feet from Southern Louisiana to south of Galveston (which has a sea wall of only 17 feet).

Storm surge is at high tide, which could very well be 28-32 feet on the north side of the storm right into the Houston Canal

    Hurricane Ike

BTW with the rather slow speed inland flooding is also going to be very bad.

So this is as bad as Katrina and the hit on a second major city will drain the economy even further.

One small problem hurricanes like this cause, is they destroy the infrastructure in the gulf as they come by, which causes some infrastructure not to be rebuilt, and that causes a drop in the amount of Oil and natural Gas we get from the gulf,

Here is the 2003-2008 history of the Gulf production with hurricanes hits included

The long term problem will be how bad will Houston and Galveston suffer, and how much production will be lost forever because of this hurricane?

How will the US economy further suffer from this?

Makes lipstick on a pig and Sean's outrage at facts on his show kinda pale in comparison ...... don't ya thunk trolls?

  25. You know, FreedomFan is right ... for the most part. When he said "Obviously the economy is needs help, but more taxes, more debt and bigger government -- like Obama wants -- is a recipe for disaster."

Aside from the curious grammar, he makes valid points regarding the taxes, debt and bigger goverment. The Obama thing is what's making me scratch my head in wonder.

John McCain is on the record for wanting to turn employer-provided healthcare into taxable income -- thus raising the taxes for most middle class working Americans. Definitely an ingredient in the "recipe for disaster."

John McCain is also now on the record as wanting to keep Bush's tax cuts permanent as well as keep the Iraq war going for 100 years and possibly even start a new one with Iran. Let's see, as Bush is the first leader in history to cut taxes AND have a war all at the same time. For some reason though, he didnt forsee what every other leader in history was smart enough to realize would happen -- a tremendously HUGE national debt. If McCain wants to continue what Bush started, logic would suggest an even larger debt would come as a result. Another ingredient.

The Republican Party has a history of -- and is on the record as wanting to continue -- legislating who people are allowed to date and marry, which god to worship, which religious holidays people are allowed to recognize and which ones they arent, what doctors should be allowed to tell their patients, teaching psuedo-Christianity in public schools, what we are allowed to watch on tv and in the movie theatre, and who should be allowed to vote. Under Bush, they even managed to limit the freedoms guaranteed in the US Constitution. Sarah Palin certainly seems interested in dictating what books we should be allowed to read in the library. Sounds like an awfully big government to me. Yet another ingredient in the "recipe for disaster."

Let's visit FreedomFan's statement again with one key change: Oviously the economy is needs help, but more taxes, more debt and bigger government -- like McCain wants -- is a recipe for disaster.

    You're right.

  26. A new voter suppression tactic?

GOP seeks to contest voters from foreclosed homes

The chairman of the Republican Party in Macomb County Michigan, a key swing county in a key swing state, is planning to use a list of foreclosed homes to block people from voting in the upcoming election as part of the state GOP’s effort to challenge some voters on Election Day.

“We will have a list of foreclosed homes and will make sure people aren’t voting from those addresses,” party chairman James Carabelli told Michigan Messenger in a telephone interview earlier this week. He said the local party wanted to make sure that proper electoral procedures were followed.

State election rules allow parties to assign “election challengers” to polls to monitor the election. In addition to observing the poll workers, these volunteers can challenge the eligibility of any voter provided they “have a good reason to believe” that the person is not eligible to vote. One allowable reason is that the person is not a “true resident of the city or township.”

The Michigan Republicans’ planned use of foreclosure lists is apparently an attempt to challenge ineligible voters as not being “true residents.”

Classic they screw them over for their homes then deny them their constitutional right to vote.

    How GOPer of them.

  38. Liberal/Progressive Christians have some dilemmas:

*Christ frequently warned about hell fire (Mat. 5:22, 29-30).

*Christ only recognized marriage between a man and a woman (Matthew 19:4-6). He also accepted the Genesis account of creation, as a historical fact.

*Christ taught the people to be heavenly-minded (Mat. 6:19-21).

*Christ taught that the way of salvation is narrow and few are saved (Mat. 7:13-14).

Christ commanded men to repent of their sin. (Mat. 4:17).

The Jesus of the Sermon on the Mount was a bold and dogmatic preacher, and would hardly be considered a liberal or progressive.

  39. ana,

I am from a family of ministers. I am well aware of the scriptures. I am WELL aware that Christ (1.) never turned anyone away, no matter what they'd done, and (2.) was all about taking care of the helpless. Jesusistanis like yourself like to talk about the Sermon on the Mount, but you don't like to talk about Christ's unending advocacy for the helpless-and you sure as hell don't want to talk about camels and needle eyes.

As far as Genesis goes, there is disagreement among religious scholars as to whether Genesis would line up with, or disagree with, the scientific estimates of how long the world has been around. Depends on what was meant by "day." Jesusistanis like yourself will never admit that the writer of "day" may well have had a far different meaning in mind than a 24 hour period, although reasonable people (which a Jesusistani is not) can respectfully differ.

Charlie Gibson’s interview with Sarah Palin was heavily edited by ABC News to make Palin appear more hawkish and less knowledgeable. Mark Levin has the complete transcript, and what ABC News tried to pull here is a textbook example of media malfeasance.

The interview was so egregiously biased, even UPI is calling out ABC News for their blatant double standards.

Gee Charlie Gibson ... guess you can kiss off the rest of your career as a "journalist". Nicely done!

  66. Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin sat down with ABC News' Charlie Gibson for an interview, part of which aired Sept. 11. In the exchange, the Alaska governor misstated a basic fact about her state's energy production:
Palin: Let me speak specifically about a credential that I do bring to this table, Charlie, and that's with the energy independence that I've been working on for these years as the governor of this state that produces nearly 20 percent of the U.S. domestic supply of energy, that I worked on as chairman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, overseeing the oil and gas development in our state to produce more for the United States.
It's simply untrue that Alaska produces anything close to 20 percent of the U.S. "energy supply," a term that is generally defined as energy consumed. That category includes power produced in the U.S. by nuclear, coal, hydroelectric dams and other means – as well as all the oil imported into the country.

Palin would have been correct to say that Alaska produces just over 14 percent of all the oil produced in the U.S., leaving out imports and leaving out other forms of power. According to the federal government's Energy Information Administration, Alaskan wells produced 263.6 million barrels of oil in 2007, or 14.3 percent of the total U.S. production of 1.8 billion barrels.

    PALIN-MANIA IS OVER.

One provision of the bill was referred to as the "Enron loophole" because the House Agriculture Committee drafted it and it was later applied to Enron. Some critics blame the provision for permitting the Enron scandal to occur. At the time, Gramm's wife was previously on Enron's board of directors. Later in his Senate career, Gramm spearheaded efforts to pass banking reform laws, including the landmark Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act in 1999, which served to reduce government regulations in existence since the Great Depression separating banking, insurance and brokerage activities.

Years later, critics of Gramm point out that this same legislation may have been pivotal in encouraging the corporate practices that led to the 2008 mortgage crises in America.

Later, as lobbyist for Swiss bank UBS, Gramm pressured congress ease it's restrictions on predatory lending tactics by mortgage brokers. For his efforts, Gramm received $750,000 from UBS in during a one year period starting in 2007.

  88. David Frum, had avery interesting take on the St Sarah Charlie Gibson chat

A president does not need to know everything. In fact, it's certainly impossible for him (or her) to know everything that he might possibly need to know. That's what the White House staff - and beyond them the whole vast apparatus of the US government - is for. Collectively, the US government knows a lot. And all of that knowledge is at the service and disposal of the president. All the president has to do is - is ask.

But that's not as easy as it sounds.

Somebody who knew President Bush well once remarked to me. "You'll notice he never asks questions."

    "Why not?" I said.

"Because he doesn't know what it's okay for him not to know."

    **

Again and again through the ABC interview with Sarah Palin, Gibson asked questions to which an evasive answer would have been perfectly appropriate ... But Palin never punted. She tried to bluff her way through, pretending to know what she obviously did not know. It's an understandable impulse, and in the context of a single interview, not so very terrible. But is it an impulse that she'd lay aside once in office? Or is it a deeper habit? A lot may turn on the answer to that question.

Is St Sarah channeling G Dubya?

    Is she really that clueless?

Or is it the fact she don't know she is that clueless, that makes her try to not look as clueless as she really is?

First, Palin set off alarm bells with her Iraq speech. The Washington Post wrote, “Gov. Sarah Palin linked the war in Iraq with the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks…a view once promoted by Bush administration officials [that] has since been rejected even by the president himself.”

Then, when ABC’s Charlie Gibson asked her opinion on the Bush Doctrine that led us to war in Iraq, it got worse. As the New York Times put it: “Palin most visibly stumbled when she was asked by Mr. Gibson if she agreed with the Bush doctrine. Ms. Palin did not seem to know what he was talking about. Mr. Gibson, sounding like an impatient teacher, informed her

Neanderthal Palin who wants the Polar bear off the endangered list, has a bear carcass on her couch, and advocates shooting wolfs from planes to protect her caribou burgers, and whose lying hubby and aides was subpoenaed in trooper gate, was forewarned! 90. "First, Palin set off alarm bells with her Iraq speech. The Washington Post wrote, “Gov. Sarah Palin linked the war in Iraq with the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks…"

    Actually No...

    From the article:
"...telling an Iraq-bound brigade of soldiers that included her son that they would "defend the innocent from the enemies who planned and carried out and rejoiced in the death of thousands of Americans."

The "innocent" being the Iraqi civilians, and the "enemies" being Al Qaida in Iraq...

    The writer further opines:
"The idea that the Iraqi government under Saddam Hussein helped al-Qaeda plan the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, a view once promoted by Bush administration officials, has since been rejected even by the president himself."

The "Iraqi government" under Sadam Hussein hasn't existed in quite a few years, Maybe someone should tell the Washington comPost...

"“Palin most visibly stumbled when she was asked by Mr. Gibson if she agreed with the Bush doctrine. Ms. Palin did not seem to know what he was talking about. Mr. Gibson, sounding like an impatient teacher, informed her"

Actually AP she asked "in what respect?"

Which is accurate as even the Washington Post admits...

"Many Versions of 'Bush Doctrine' Palin's Confusion in Interview Understandable, Experts Say"

"Neanderthal Palin who wants the Polar bear off the endangered list, because it's NOT endangered has a bear carcass on her couch, and advocates shooting wolfs "wolves" maybe? from planes to protect her caribou burgers, Many Alaskans hunt for their food AP and the "wolves" are taking way too many. and whose lying hubby and aides was subpoenaed in trooper gate, was forewarned! Yes they're all lying. Let's not wait on an investigation, we should just lynch them now eh? Especially since reporting on Mrs. Palin has been soooo accurate so far... A former ethics adviser to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin warned in July that firing her public safety commissioner would become a "grave concern" for her administration."

  91. Should I be worried about being a slave again?
    -Whoopie (cushion) Goldberg

No, but you should be worried about having a skull full of lukewarm oatmeal.

See Whoopie, you were only treated like a slave in a movie, you were never a slave in ... well actually you still are slave to the rabid left mentality of Hollyweird.

  94. The "innocent" being the Iraqi civilians, and the "enemies" being Al Qaida in Iraq...

The very people the United states let into the country when it illegally invaded, over threw the military and police, disbanded both, THEN left the borders unsecured for years.

SO dolty is that how you keep the evil, al qaeda people from the Iraqi civilians who NEVER asked the US to totally f*ck up their country in the first place?

Or is that the best spin ya can put on this fiasco?

BTW genius what about the Sunni Iraqis who fought the US until we bribed them to stop?

What about all the Shiites who fight against the US and the Sunnis? Are they secretly al qaeda, are you even as clueless as John McCain about the real situation in Iraq?

IS the fight between the Kurdish people and both the Shiite lead central government, and the local Turkmen and Sunnis part of al qaeda.

Is the fight between al Sadr and the Shiite lead government of al Maliki which is mainly staffed with Badr brigade fighters, in the military past of the evil al qaeda?

Cause genius st Sarah's offspring is gonna be fighting against all of these if the neo-con wet dream for Iraq has a chance of succeeding son.

The "Iraqi government" under Sadam Hussein hasn't existed in quite a few years, Maybe someone should tell the Washington comPost...

Cry about language and terminology NOT the truth that Saddam had NOTHING to do with any attacks on the world traqe center son?

Sort of shows what your all about eh duncetron, spin over all including lies and half truths, to camouflage the total lack of credibility McCain campaigns part about now.

    The schadenfreude of it,

    The audacity,

    How bad is it really?

Rove Says McCain's Lying Goes Too Far

and KKarl should know when you go to far in the lying department.

    It seems St Johnny forgot what he was taught at the Naval Academy;

Midshipmen are persons of integrity: They stand for that which is right.

They tell the truth and ensure that the full truth is known. They do not lie.

.... but then again maybe St Johnny never really learned much there, he was 894 of 899 cadets graduating there.

  97. All that lying must be having some effect, st Johnny is a slippin' in the polls;

    9/14: Hotline/Diageo Pres-Tracker: Obama 45%, McCain 43%

    9/14: Res. 2000 Pres-Tracker: Obama 47%, McCain 45%

    9/14: Gallup Pres-Tracker: McCain 47%, Obama 45%

    9/14: Rasmussen Pres-Tracker: McCain 50%, Obama 47%

Average Obama 46% McCain 45.75%, looks like the bounce is over Franny

  98. BTW while we all figure out how much St Johnny and St Sarah sin with their lies, the wall street meltdown accelerates,

    Lehman sale talks falter

Talks to sell Lehman Brothers Holdings faltered on Sunday, triggering concerns that the investment bank may be heading into bankruptcy by the end of the day and prompting banks to call an emergency trading session to unwind positions with the firm.

Barclays, which had appeared to be frontrunner to take over Lehman -- excluding its toxic mortgage-related assets -- said it pulled out of the bidding, as top bankers and regulators met for a third day to try to resolve the crisis.

The bank withdrew because the U.S. government wouldn't provide financial guarantees, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Thus it fails and has to declare bankruptcy.

    But that isn't the end, just more of the beginning of the crash;

The crisis at Lehman presents a delicate balancing act for Paulson and the Federal Reserve, who have urged Wall Street chiefs to come up with their own solution.

So far this year, the government has sponsored rescues of Lehman rival Bear Stearns and mortgage lenders Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae.

    ...

Investors have said that if nothing is done by Monday, global financial markets could plunge.

Other financial firms that are weighed down by poorly performing real estate assets are under particular pressure.

Shares of brokerage Merrill Lynch> tumbled 12 percent on Friday, while those of insurer American International Group Inc fell more than 30 percent.

Shares of Washington Mutual Inc, the largest U.S. savings and loan, have declined 80 percent this year.

All three companies have varying degrees of exposure to the mortgages and other toxic assets that were Lehman's undoing.

"Anyone else who has these toxic assets, if they haven't made a full confession, they better do it now," said Matt McCormick, portfolio manager at Bahl & Gaynor Investment Counsel in Cincinnati, Ohio, which has $2.9 billion of assets under management.

But St Johnny said the fundamentals of our economy were sound, he just didn't convince Wall Street it seems.

Stay tuned after November all bets are off as the Administration of Bushco criminal inc is history and they no longer care because their legacy is already two levels below dog feces, and St Sarah and St Johnny are as clueless on the ecomomy as they come .....

  100. Well, Merril Lynch has sold itself to bank of America and Lehman Brothers is essentially in bankruptcy even if they haven't formally filed at this moment,

Wanna bet quite a few 401k's take a real good shot in their portfolios?

  101. St Johnny of Hanoi recently made a statement about St Sarah of Wasilla;

"She knows more about energy then probably any one else in the United States"

    REALLY?

She knows MORE then T Boone Pickens?

Maybe she can explain to him how his proposal won't work and her proposal will? (Oh right that wasn't her proposal she don't actually have one).

She knows MORE then Matthew Simmons author of Twilight in the Desert, and an energy investment banker for years?

Maybe she can explain to him where he is wrong and she is right?

She knows MORE then Guy Caruso, you know the head of EIA?

She knows MORE then Kenneth S. Deffeyes?

She knows MORE then Richard Heinberg?

Damn she hides it real good from the rest of us.
