Last night I had dinner with an amazing soldier who flew reconnaissance missions over Lebanon last week from Israel. Though he lived in Israel for 21 years, he has also lived in the United States for over 30 years, and made his fortune here. He's was a sharp-shooter in the Israeli military but still flies missions. I believe he's in their National Guard. Last week he used rapid-fire to shoot Hezbollah on the ground from his plane.
He enlightened me about many things: he said that every Israeli soldier is indoctrinated — practically brainwashed — on the importance of saving civilian lives, and going out of their way to NEVER hit civilians. This is drilled into them from the beginning of their training. This is of the utmost importance and they go to great lengths to avoid civilian casualties. For example, regarding yesterdays attack on the Mosque: they used close-range satellite technology to see inside the Mosque, and saw that bombs were being stored there. They first dropped leaflets announcing to all civilians to get out of harms way. Only then, did they attack.
He also said that every Israeli thinks now is the time to once and for all get rid of Hezbollah. No Israeli wants to back down. He also said my information is wrong regarding Israelis holding children as prisoners, and that the only prisoners they are holding are terrorists.
I deeply honor and respect this soldier's position. I pray for Israel's success.
But on a higher level, the spiritual level which I know is the solution to everything — this is the Way: only by disarming our enemies with the shock of non-retaliation can we ever have true, lasting peace. No one has ever tried it before. I don't mean grumbling with hatred while avoiding confrontation like cowards. I don't mean FEAR-BASED avoidance.
I mean truly going out of our way to NOT REACT, to be still. We and the Israelites must stop giving our enemies so much power by fearing them. We must change our thinking about our enemies. But this takes a huge leap in consciousness to come out of the primitive, archaic religious thought into the New Thought. We must lead by a new, enlightened path. Don't react. Trust God before reacting with force. An eye-for-an-eye only makes us blind.
Just like in this blog: when an angry person doesn't get a reaction he has nothing left to fight. In fact, when I asked this man if he thinks Hezbollah will be annihilated through a catastrophic bombing campaign, he said no. The evidence is that retaliation just breeds more of the same: they will proliferate like cockroaches and embed themselves deeper into civilian communities.
I truly believe the only way to fight is to send our prayers (meaning: change our consciousness toward our enemies by seeing them as children of a loving God. Though ignorant and spiritually sick, Love (God) can truly heal them.) and pray for our enemies, the way the Great Peacemaker instructed. Love disarms the worst evil.
Every time I have an enemy, when I change my thought about him, he changes too.
To Newlyweds Stacy and Ned: Congratulations! (A good friend of mine, Stacy, spent her honeymoon in Israel, after having lived there for several months in separate quarters from her fiance. The couple is from California; they got deeper into their faith prior to marriage. God Bless them.
To the HACKER who has broken a pipe on this blog and prevented people they disagree with from commenting. We have launched a full-scale investigation. I will be on several radio shows this week letting people know how our government wastes tax-payer money by hacking into blogs to stop the truth from coming out. There is an agency above the one you work for.
WHAT HAPPENED TO PRINCIPLES and morals? If you operate from principle you never have to worry. You dont' have to side with Israel when they overreact and bomb innocent civilians. Bush's neocons have no interest in what's right. They lie, cheat and steal. Obviously Bush doesn't really want peace. What a tragedy.

It warms my heart when even liberals occasionally can become enlightened.
Perhaps prayer really does work, but sometimes not in the way one intends.
FF There's a huge difference between what is visible and gives immediate gratification, and what is True; the spiritual essence of man is what is true.
ReplyDeleteAnd there is a reason the Arabs and Israelis are next door to each other: they just don't get it yet. they are neighbors in order to learn to overcome their hatred. Bombing is NEVER the real answer.
But advanced thinkers and spiritual people know this. Blood lust can never satisfy you.
Blood lust can never satisfy people who love to fight. The fight is a high in itself. It's like a drug.
ReplyDelete"The most spiritual growth happens with your enemies." And that's all that counts. Because where your heart is, there your treasure is also.
Israel & Palestine are two very interesting entities. What warms my heart is that Palestinians and Israeli Jews do live peacefully side by side, so I can't put any blame on those individuals who are setting aside their trespasses and are viewing each other as human beings, but the way I see the conflict is the LEADERS of the people who are the ones who are the aggressors and who are the ones who are keeping the fight alive. For right now, I view Israel as overreacting to two of their soldiers being captured by Palestinians (considering it is the Palestinians who are retaliating against Israel for killing Palestinians on a beach), but the whole mess over there shouldn't be extending into the surrounding areas such as Lebanon! Where does it end? At this point it doesn't matter who is to blame for this and that, what matters is SOMEONE has to stand up and say, "enough is enough!". It won't happen. Our government is now arming Israel to the hilt and this war aggression will multiply and the whole area will be a war with one another.
ReplyDeleteBut really, isn't that the plan of the Bush Cartel?
The PNACers of the 1990's wanted what we are witnessing today. It's no accident and like Tony Snow admitted last week....Bush and his coherts have been in contact with Israel behind the scenes for a year now. Oh boy. Israel is the Bush Cartel's tool right now. They're using them to stir up the bee's nest so Iran and/or Syria will retaliate, which will give the Cartel reason to invade.....at the very least....Iran! Iran has oil....lots of it. It's the one country that hasn't been hooked up to the big huge pipeline!!!
So, who do we blame for the last few weeks of violent flareup in the Middle East? Pick whoever you want!!!
All I'm going to say is violence, murder, and killing is not the answer to the road of peace. Everyone involved doesn't want peace either. This conflict will (and has!) go on forever and the Bush Cartel is hoping they can control the whole region and it's oil so they can COMPLETELY control the flow of oil to the planet. Hey, controlling the flow of oil as we've seen in the last few years has been very profitable! Killing and illegally invading countries has been a "wonderful" technique and has worked well for those who love money, power, and greed.
No wonder Babs Bush doesn't want to hurt her beautiful mind by looking at the flag-draped coffins of our dead soldiers. It's too painful for her....er well....it's the result of her son and his friend's greed and she just can't bear to be reminded of it!
Uh Voltaire! There was another capture of Isrealis by the Palestinians BEFORE THE ISREALIS WENT OVER THE BORDER INTO LEBANON and two more Israeli soldiers were captured!
ReplyDeleteDo you watch the news or do you watch Faux News? Huh?
It's funny....the Israelis move out of Gaza and the Palestinians launch a few rockets into Isreal....and nothing. No retaliation or anything. But...suddenly the Israelis kill a bunch of Palestinians standing on a beach and then the Palestinians capture two Israeli soldiers and then all of sudden ALL HELL BREAKS LOSE! Gee, wonder why that is? Hmmmmmmm......Bush has been talking with the Israelis behind the scenes....no attacks of retaliation for almost a year and then BAMMO!....Israel goes on a rampage when Bush and his Cartel are wringing their hands for ANY excuse to get into Iran! Wow! The timing is incredible!!
Voltaire call me anything you want. Call me fat, call me ugly, call me a liberal, but one thing you can't deny is THE TRUTH IS A LIBERAL BIAS!!! You need to put the Budweiser down long enough to listen to what is going on in the world. Can you do that for me? Pay attention?
ReplyDeleteI despise the Bush family and their ideologies...always have, always will. I can't shut up about it and I never will either. I love my country more than anything and watching it slowly slip into a tyrannical dictatorship is disheartening. I blog because I care. If you agree, feel free to leave a comment on any thread I've posted to let me know how you are feeling! However, if you're an Internet Troll, I will send you to Blogger Hell.

Voltaire, you are playin wit fire, buddy. This lady could easily hurt you if she chose to do so.
She clearly wants to hear from you only if you are a fellow Bush hater. You have been warned.
/I wonder where Blogger Hell is? Do you suppose it is hotter than regular hell? It's mitey hot here today on earth; proly the global warming thang kickin in.
Voltaire, isn't it the Christians who say that only Christians will go to Heaven and everyone else will not?
ReplyDeleteYou really need to judge yourself before you judge others. Saying that ALL Muslims are bad is immature and wrong. Agree?
Uh, excuse me, but I've been talking with Americans on both sides of the isle for years now and I love the debate. I agree with Lydia that the personal attacks are not needed and show the immaturity and the lack of words to talk about the issue at hand.
ReplyDeleteIf I have posted anything that is wrong or incorrect, THEN LINK TO SOMETHING THAT PROVES YOUR POSITION OR LET OTHERS KNOW WHAT YOU ARE THINKING, rather than make it personal. Do you get that? Understand?
I hate Bush, his family, and his friends. I'm not denying that. If you all love him and can't wait to have a beer with him in Heaven than good for you! I'm just not going to agree with you, okay? You don't agree with me and I don't agree with you. We have agreed to disagree, get it?
Okay Voltaire, I'll give you that it was ONLY ONE ISRAELI soldier that was captured by the Palestinians but it was originally reported as two for a few days and I still have that number in my head.
ReplyDeleteThe reports in the Middle East and in Europe (and it was also the first report I heard on CNN International here in the US) SAID THAT ISRAEL WENT OVER THE BORDER INTO LEBANON and an attack insued. Some Israeli soldiers died and two were captured by Lebanon. After a few days it was reported that Israel was 200 yards from the Lebanese border, but still, that is in dispute. Why would the Israelis be 200 yards from the border? To provoke an attack by Lebanon so they could bomb the country to smithereens? Were they actually already over the border? Who knows!
The REALITY is is that Israel is the aggressor right now. They are WAY OVERREACTING, don't you think? If Sharon was mentally competent, I don't think this type of reaction by the Israelis would be happening. The current leaders of Israel are the ones who are doing this.
I don't like it. As a liberal, I don't like war and aggression AND I DON'T CARE WHO STARTS IT. The end.
There you go again with your immature comments, Voltaire! Why do you do that? Can't think of anything to say? You know, that is typical of the neocons. It's either name calling, insults, or death threats when they don't want to talk about the subject or are losing the debate. Why is that?
ReplyDeleteFaux News is better? Isn't it interesting that Bush's cousin was working at Fox News during the 2000 election, huh? And it was Fox who announced in the middle of the night (when most Americans were asleep) that Bush had won Florida! Interesting!!!! Now Fox News is the right arm of the White House and is used as their propaganda machine. You know, Hitler controlled the media too. It makes sense to do that when you want your citizens to be uninformed.
ReplyDeleteLet me guess: Blond woman murdered somewhere in America today and that is all Fox News is talking about?
Hey I have a funny story:
ReplyDeleteMy wife and I just got back from taking my nephews to the beach; they are aged 5 and 7. They had a great time laffing and gigglin and playin in the waves and such.
When we got out of the water, there was a cute young couple sittin on a towel, facing each other kissin and neckin.
Well the boys were fascinated and kept staring, which was kinda embarrassing.
On the way home the oldest boy asked what they were doing and my wife explained that they were just kissing.
The oldest said that when he sees kissin or just hears people talk about it, his "weiner grows longer"...the younger said "yeah my weiner gets longer too". My wife and I just cracked up.
Okay sorry for the interruption folks...please return to your regularly scheduled hate-fest.
What happens to Americans who are taken into custody in Canada? Is George "Wiretap" Bush dropping bombs on Canada? No!!!!!!!!! I don't think George would start an all out assault against Canada if two of our soldiers were captured (never would happen in a million years by the way but I'll play along with your hypothetical), but then again, he is a warmonger so anything is possible. Because now that I think about it, the Bush Doctrine to spread democracy around the planet means to illegally invade a sovereign country and kill it's citizens. Use the immoral war to line the pockets of one's corporate buddies and use one's soldiers to protect American corporate interests while letting the country fall into civil war because one is not paying attention to that "stuff"...because money is being made!
ReplyDeleteNo wonder Putin doesn't want an "Iraq democracy" for his country, even though our Lunkhead president said he should wait because it is only going to get better!
So, yup, George would start an all out assault with Canada. He's that immoral.
I'm drinking the Koolaid? LOL Wow, Koolaid has always been reserved for the Bush supporters in our country. What flavor is George feeding all of you this week? "Ocean Blue" because he's on vacation again? I thought so. Nice try in trying to put YOUR LABEL on me. That is another trait of the neocons.
ReplyDeleteHey, I have a really funny story to share with you too. It's about a bunch of Pigs who sing and sing and sing! Guess what they sing? You'll love it because it's right up your alley! Here it is:
ReplyDelete"WAR IS PEACE....FREEDOM IS SLAVERY....IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH!"
Isn't that a wonderful story? Let me know if you liked it and please let me know if the Pigs in Washington start walking on their hind legs! Thanks.
Yeah, Bush is so innocent. The fact that he has secret prisons all over the planet where he is allowing the torture of "terrorists" who were found on the "battlefield" makes him high on the list for this years, "America's Most Wanted Nice Guy" list! Yup! He got it again for the 3rd year in a row. Isn't that great?
ReplyDeleteYeah, yeah, and the one prison that keeps making the list for the "least torturous" is the one in Uzbekistan where the leader of that country (Islam Karimov) likes to boil people alive just for shits and giggles! Of course, the people that Bush's underlings have captured haven't been charged with anything and Bush refuses to tell the American people what they've been charged with because he doesn't even know. It's just fun to fill up prisons and torture people! Yeah, yeah, yeah....
What do you think? Think Bush will get the same award next year?
What does the word torture mean? No one knows and Alberto Gonzales refused in the beginning to define it for Bush and his military, so as of right now......ANYTHING GOES! Wow, what a nice bunch of people we have running the show, huh?

Hey Voltaire, that is your motto not mine!
ReplyDeleteShow me where I've been ignorant. Thanks.
Uh, excuse me Voltaire, but I was the FIRST out of you and I to state my case on this thread. You were the one who STOPPED THE DEBATE by calling names.
ReplyDeleteNow, you go read a newspaper, an Internet site, or rub your genitals against the t.v. while watching Fox News to get your news, okay?
Because I am a liberal, I am well informed.
And Mike! Thanks for letting me know I was on the right track. :-)
So Voltaire, in your world the Lebanese capture of the Isreali soldiers came before the Palestinians captured the Isreali soldiers, is that what you're saying? Huh? Wow! You got it wrong pal!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBut then again, Fox News probably didn't tune into this conflict until AFTER THE LEBANESE CAPTURED THE ISRAELI SOLDIERS.
Now, who would have told them to not report on the Palestinians capturing the Isrealis? Hmmmmm...now who would do that? Who would have complete control over that "news" channel? Hmmmmmm....would it be someone who wants to use Fox as a propaganda tool and wouldn't want their listeners to know the truth and would want to make it look like the Lebanese are the aggressors here? Hmmmmmm....who would that be who would fake out the masses like that?
I think you know the answer.
KayinMaine is against "name calling, then refers to Fox News as Faux News. So much for practicing what we preach.
ReplyDeleteLydia, get a new guest blogger, this one is a reactionary (and none too bright either).
Yeah Kay we've had some interesting discussions here, you oughta spend more time here, just be aware theres quite a few slimy trolls in here.
ReplyDeleteOk, Mike, here's your chance to set the record straight:
ReplyDeleteDo you think I am a Nazi?
Please name the individuals who you think are Nazis.
Is Bush a Nazi?
Is Karl Rove a Nazi?
When you write "KKKarl Rove" are you implying that he is a member of the Klan?
When you refer to the Republican Party as the "Reich Wing," you are implying that all Republicans are Nazis, no?
Troll Tex, I wrote a response earlier today but for some reason it got deleted, i'm cooking dinner now, but i'll write you a response before I go out for the evening.
ReplyDeleteWould someone please explain to me why the NY Times' journalists were used by the White House during the drum up to war to report where the wmd were in Iraq? Huh? Why would the White House use such a treasonous paper to do that? Why would Judy Miller get all giddy everytime her phone would ring when someone from the WH was calling? Interesting...
ReplyDelete....and why did the WH just recently allow ONLY the NY Times' journalists into a secret meeting (sorry, I can't remember what it was about but it happened recently within the last few weeks!) during the same time that the WH was calling for a lawsuit against the paper for being "treasonous" for reporting on their financial records surveillance program which was something that Bush himself had talked about for years? Why would he let them into the room if he can't trust them?
Oh yeah, he wants the neocons to continue to hate the NY Times. I forgot.
they wont answer that question Kay they never do, just like when I ask them how come Bush and John Snow werent charged with treason like they want to charge the NY Times since they revealed to the terrorists years before the recent times article came out that we are spying on the terrorists.
ReplyDeleteNo. Once you've mastered reading, you may find that the HEZBOLLAH kidnapping of Israeli soldiers came BEFORE Israel invaded Lebanon.
ReplyDelete(which in one of your previous posts you claimed they were kidnapped AFTER Israel invaded Lebanon.)
**************************
Why were the Israelis even near the border? Huh? IT WAS FIRST REPORTED THAT ISREAL HAD GONE OVER THE BORDER INTO LEBANON, and according to George "Wiretap" Bush, any country that is invaded has a right to defend itself! When the Isrealis came over the border a firefight ensued and some of the Isreali soldiers were killed and two were captured.
That first report was squashed here in the US because it was the truth and America has to always protect Israel even if it is the aggressor!
The Palestinians being killed on the beach and the capturing of Isreali soldiers by the Palestinians HAPPENED BEFORE THE ASSAULT WITH LEBANON.
Mike said...

Mike, they never answer questions! The reason why they are called Internet Trolls is because they like to come to the liberal blogs and interupt the debate with stupid statements and name calling (and of course the occassional threat of one's life!). At this point, it's all they have. After years of trying to come up with daily excuses as to why their Dear Leader does what he does and to cover for all his lies, they're exhausted. Now, they just name call and drag Bill Clinton into the debate. It's all they have....it's all they have!
Wow Kay you really oughta spend more time here you sound just like our regulars (meaning the good guys)

Here is one of many timelines on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. In July of 2006 section, you will notice the last sentence that talks about a two-week conflict between Israel & the Palestinians. Now, before that conflict happened, Palestinians were murdered on the beach. Israel was blamed for those deaths. The Palestinians captured one of the Israeli soldiers and that is when Israel went on a rampage! Now, THERE IS DISAGREEMENT ON WHETHER IT WAS ISRAEL WHO CROSSED INTO LEBANON AS THEY WERE ON THEIR RAMPAGE TO START THE LATEST CONFLICT BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES OR IF IT WAS THE ISRAELIS BEING TOO CLOSE TO THE LEBANESE BORDER THAT CAUSED THE
ReplyDeleteHezbollah to fire at the Israelis! Nonetheless, it is Israel who has overreacted when one of their soldiers was captured (TAKING OUT THE PALESTINIAN INFRASTRUCTURE WAS FAIR? No!):
December 1968: Israeli commandos attack Beirut International Airport on December 28, 1968, damaging or destroying more than a dozen airplanes in retaliation for an attack on an Israeli civilian airplane at the airport in Athens, Greece. Two Palestinians were charged in the Athens attack that left an Israeli passenger dead.
November 1969: Lebanese army commander in chief Emile Bustani and Arafat sign an agreement in Cairo that recognizes the "Palestinian revolution" and allows Palestinians in Lebanon "to join in the armed struggle without undermining Lebanon's sovereignty and welfare." This agreement will stay in effect for nearly 20 years, until Lebanon rescinds it in May 1987.
1970-1971: Faced with fighting in Jordan that left thousands dead, the PLO moves its base to Lebanon, where it carries out raids on Israel. A Palestinian terrorist group linked to the PLO is formed. Its name is "Black September" -- a reference to the Jordanian crackdown on Palestinians in September 1970.
1972: Black September attacks the Israeli Olympic team during the games in Munich, Germany. After a struggle that left a coach and an athlete dead, the terrorists take nine Israeli athletes hostage, demanding the release of Palestinian prisoners in return for the hostages' release. Israel refuses, and a shootout between the attackers and West German authorities leaves all nine hostages, four terrorists and a policeman dead.
April 1973: Israeli elite commandos -- dressed as women and led by future Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak -- kill three PLO leaders in Beirut.
1975: Civil war breaks out in Lebanon, pitting Palestinians and pro-Palestinian Lebanese militias against Lebanon's Christian militias. The war would last nearly 15 years, officially ending in 1990.
1976: Syria sends military peacekeepers during the early months of the civil war to help end it. The troops would remain there nearly 30 years, until April 2005.
March 1978: A PLO attack on a bus in northern Israel prompts Israeli military forces to move into Lebanon to push the PLO back from the border. Israel withdraws after the U.N. Security Council passes a resolution for the immediate withdrawal of Israeli forces. Under the leadership of Lebanese army Maj. Saad Haddad, an Israeli ally, a 12-mile wide "security zone" is established to protect Israeli territory from cross-border attacks.
September 1978: The Camp David Accords, brokered by U.S. President Jimmy Carter, lead to a peace treaty between Israel and Egypt. The accords lay the groundwork for a similar treaty between Israel and Lebanon, as well as its other Arab neighbors.
July 17, 1981: Israeli forces bomb PLO headquarters in West Beirut, killing more than 300 civilians. The attack leads to a U.S.-brokered cease-fire between Israel, the PLO and Syria, whose troops were in Lebanon.
1982: The cease-fire lasts until June 6, 1982, when Israel invades Lebanon with about 60,000 troops in a push to destroy the PLO, after an assassination attempt on Israel's ambassador to Britain. Arafat and the PLO flee Lebanon in August and settle in Tunis, Tunisia, where they remain until moving to Gaza in 1994.
The Israel-backed Lebanese president-elect, Bashir Gemayel, is assassinated September 14, shortly before his inauguration. Israeli troops enter West Beirut a day later, and the following day, nearly 800 Palestinian refugees are massacred at the hands of Lebanese Christian militias in the Sabra and Shatila camps. Israel is accused of doing nothing to prevent or stop the massacre.
Hezbollah, a fundamentalist Shiite Muslim militant group, emerges as a force in Beirut, the Bekaa Valley and southern Lebanon. Sponsored by Iran, modeled after Iran's Revolutionary Guards and supported by Syria, Hezbollah aims to establish a Shiite Islamic state in Lebanon and force Western interests like Israel and the United States out of the region.
April 18, 1983: A suicide attack by Hezbollah on the U.S. Embassy in West Beirut kills 63 people, a harbinger of future attacks against U.S. and Western interests.
May 17, 1983: Lebanon and Israel sign a U.S.-brokered peace agreement, spelling out terms of Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon, conditional on the withdrawal of Syrian forces. Syria opposes the agreement.
October 23, 1983: A Hezbollah suicide bomber blows up the headquarters of U.S. Marine and French forces in Beirut, killing 298 people -- 241 of them U.S. Marines and other military personnel. U.S. troops are withdrawn from Lebanon a few months later.
January 18, 1984: American University of Beirut President Malcolm Kerr is assassinated.
March 1984: With pressure mounting from Syria, Lebanon cancels the May 17, 1983, peace agreement.
September 20, 1984: The U.S. Embassy annex in East Beirut is bombed, and 23 people are killed.
June 1985: Israel withdraws from most of Lebanon but keeps control of the 12-mile-wide security zone in the south. Israel remains there until May 2000.
1990: Lebanon's 15-year civil war officially ends.
July 1993: Israel attacks southern Lebanon in a weeklong operation aimed at ending Hezbollah attacks on Israeli towns.
April 1996: Israel and Hezbollah militants engage in a 16-day battle, in which at least 137 people, mostly Lebanese civilians, are killed.
May 2000: Israeli troops withdraw from southern Lebanon, and the United Nations establishes the "Blue Line" as a border between the two countries.
September 2003: Israeli warplanes hit southern Lebanon in response to Hezbollah's firing antiaircraft missiles at Israeli planes in the area.
October 2003: Israel and Lebanon exchange gunfire in the disputed area known as Shebaa Farms.
February 14, 2005: Former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri is assassinated. Pressure builds on Syria to withdraw its remaining troops from Lebanon, which it does in April.
July 2006: Hezbollah militants cross into Israel, kill three Israeli soldiers and kidnap two others in a bid to negotiate a prisoner exchange, a demand rebuffed by Israel. Another five Israeli soldiers are killed after the ambush. Israel responds with a naval blockade and by bombing hundreds of targets in Lebanon, including Beirut's airport and Hezbollah's headquarters in southern Beirut. Hezbollah responds with rocket attacks targeting northern Israeli cities. Fighting leaves dozens of Lebanese civilians dead and coincides with a two-week-old Israeli military campaign in Gaza in response to the kidnapping of an Israeli soldier by Palestinian militants.
Actually Mike, a friend of Lydia's (John) directed me here. She actually used one of my responses in one of her posts and I was thrilled.
ReplyDeleteVoltaire and the rest of them are reacting like all neocons react to me. I'm used to it and like my blog says....I'm not going to shut up about how much I despise Bush, his family and his friends!
So, just let them say what they want. They keep proving to me that they don't care about our country because they support a Cartel that is hell bent on destroying our nation and it's good name.
she saw through your troll tactics of not answering our questions, changing the subject and resorting to name calling and personal insults.
ReplyDeleteVolt your the ONLY one who even attempts to answer the tough questions and engage in debate and for the most part you are the only one who gives somewhat honest answers that sound intelligent although deluded and misguided.
Voltaire, JUST BECAUSE AMERICAN JOURNALISTS AND REPORTERS ARE REPORTING THAT ISRAEL DIDN'T CROSS OVER THE BORDER INTO LEBANON doesn't mean that it is true!
ReplyDeleteThe first report said they did and then it got squashed. It's no different than when Ronald Reagan had an assassination attempt on his life by John Hinckley, Jr.! The next day it was reported by the Associated Press that Scott Hinckley, who is the brother to John, had a dinner date with Neil Bush that night. The Hinckley family and the Bush family were connected by the oil industry! This story was squashed fast. Hmmmmm...interesting how that works. This story could explain why the Bushes and the Reagans never really liked each other after Ronnie was shot at!
Anyways, I see Israel as the aggressor and overreactor to the Palestinians and it would not surprise me in the least if the US media was told to squash the original report to make Israel look like the victim to protect them!
Hey, it's my take on it and I'm sticking to it! If you don't agree, then you don't agree.
"KayInMaine said...

They had an excellent relationship. Do some research.
Gee, it would be so nice if we had our SPIES in Iran still to see what Iran is doing with their nuclear program, but unfortunately the president and vice president and their Brownshirts decided one day to out a CIA operative's identity out of retaliation, who was one of 150 spies working for the CIA front company named Brewster Jennings to spy on the Iranian's nuclear program, so to this day we will never know! So, it makes sense to the Fuehrer's men to get Israel to go on a rampage to PROVOKE AN ATTACK FROM IRAN AND/OR SYRIA so the Bush Cartel can do what their plan was all along: attack Iran (from Iraq of course which is now the Central Front for the PNAC's 'wahronterra'!) and get in there to get their oil to control the world's markets some more!
ReplyDeleteUh, sorry Tex, I hate to disappoint you but by the end of the Reagan years Bush and Ronnie weren't hardly on speaking terms. Babs and Nancy wouldn't even look at each other.

You love Israel and feel that they are always the victim and never do anything wrong. That's your take on it which is fine with me. I disagree and I feel Israel is acting like Bush and Hitler....creating circumstances that makes them look like the "victim" and using it as their tool to get what they want!
Again, that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
Reagan gave VP Geo. HW Bush the largest portfolio of any president up until that point. If their wives were at odds with each other, that's a different matter. I'm sure Nancy hated everyone in her husband's circle of friends at one point or another. But George and Ron got along famously.

Lydia, where did you find this wacko? All passion and no brains.
Voltaire, ever heard of the Project of the New American Century of the 1990's which was a right wing think tank outside the Clinton Admin who was schemeing to get back into Iraq. They pressured Clinton for years to start a full blown war with Iraq but Clinton refused (he talked about taking Saddam out using our CIA covert ops instead of killing innocent civilians). Anyways, these guys talked about needing a Pearl Harbor-like attack on our country to use as a catalyst to convince Americans to go to war with Iraq. 9/11 was it. Iraq was the first country that Bush said on 9/11 and it was Colin Powell at some point that turned the tide around to get the Admin to go after Afghanistan and get Osama. Bush was talking about attacking Iraq in 1999 when he was campaigning for the presidency for God's sake! He even said in the first few months of office that "Saddam tried to kill my father" and he had many journalists scratching their heads because of his obsession with Saddam!
ReplyDeleteThe PNAC stated in the 1990's that once Iraq was taken, they would use it as the Central Front and home base to work out of. Their reasoning was they wanted to disrupt the whole Middle East (get it into a chaotic state) so they could dominate the region. And guess what? There are quite a few PNACers in Bush's administration (Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld are two of them!) and it appears their plan is going quite well.
No wonder Bush is sending loads of arms to Israel right now. This is what they want.
Evil.
kay said: "Their reasoning was they wanted to disrupt the whole Middle East (get it into a chaotic state)"
ReplyDeleteWhen was the Middle East NOT in a chaotic state?
Wufuss/dufuss you goof you had better watch your mouth
ReplyDeleteHey FF, I finally figured out that "blogger hell" comment. In "blogger hell" you spend eternity arguing with a moron...
ReplyDelete-Voltaire
Ow. LOL. Yes KayInMaine will make a fine addition to the blog. She has more hatred than Worf, has less sense of humor than Clif and has an intellectual capability lower than Mike. Plus she's a pure leftist; a true-believing liberal like Ms. Cornell.
Volt,
ReplyDeleteAccording to KayInMaine, "trolls" include only Conservatives (anyone who disagrees with her). I have revised her assessment to be a little more accurate:
The reason why they are called Internet Trolls is because they like to come to the liberal blogs and interupt the ... stupid statements and name calling [with the truth]
FF, I prefer the moniker "decayinbrain"...LOL
ReplyDelete-Voltaire
Cool. Yes it seems to fit.
Sorry to run off earlier but I am having a "camp out" in the back yard tonite with my nephews. We set up the tent had some hot dawgs and now we're gonna make some s'mores.
Wow that is one angry harpie. I'm so surprised she is single. Where will her anger be directed when Dubya leaves office in a couple years? Pity her kid.
wufuss/dufuss back from the fantasy dojo
ReplyDeleteInterupt "debate" on liberal blogs...LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat is it you guys "debate" when your all alone? To what degree Bush is evil and/or stupid?
-Volt
ROFLMFAO! You nailed it dude. I think they long ago passed the point of debating whether Dubya is more evil than hitler and whether their American countrymen more wicked than nazis.
Insane lib anger and hatred knows no bounds.

Actually Worfeus, I handled them with one "right wing" behind my back! LOL
I think I'll spend some more time on this blog in the future because I had a great time. :-)
Oh, and Voltaire? My timeline is correct concerning the Israeli aggression right now. You're the one who can't grasp your mind around the fact that ISRAEL may have been the one to ILLEGALLY invade Lebanon which dragged Lebanon into the mess between Isreal & Palestine (in which Hezbollah in Lebanon attack the Israelis to protect themselves from the Israelis!!!!). You are the type who never views Israel as being wrong or as being the one to fake out the masses to make itself look like the 'victim' to gain US and world sympathy and to do whatever it wants! Until you can look at Israel OR ANYTHING with an objective mind, you will continue to go down the path of destruction.
Oh, and one more thing? I've never gone to the right wing blogs to disrupt the conversation. An interesting point? Most right wing blogs won't accept liberals to their blogs/websites because they screen whoever is registering. In some cases, it can take a week to get approval from them to post comments. Freedom of speech? Nope! Not on the right wing blogs!
You should feel lucky that almost all liberal blogs let you guys spew your crap. (Most will delete threats however because that is drawing the line)
Goodnight Mike & Worfeus! I had fun and will be back to talk some more.
Wow that is one angry harpie. I'm so surprised she is single. Where will her anger be directed when Dubya leaves office in a couple years? Pity her kid.
ReplyDelete******************
One more thing! Leave my child out of ANY conversation. Get it?
Now stop being a couple of assholes! Since you're insinuating that I'll beat my kid after Bush leaves, I could easily say that the reason you are camping outside with your nephews in a tent tonight is because YOU'RE GOING TO RAPE THEM! How does that make you feel? Hurt? It should if it isn't true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Goodnight.
DEPLORING BUSH By William F. Buckley Jr.
ReplyDeleteFri Jun 23, 8:08 PM ET
If your assignment was to write an essay on the stupidity of President Bush, you could start in with some confidence. The reason for this is that George W. Bush hasn't any flair for the spoken word, so that you can take specimens of this weakness and deduce, for your composition on G.W. Bush, that he is stupid.
This is a game of sorts, but the temptations affect the thinking of those naturally attracted to condescension, an exercise which has the gratifying consequence of leaving you exalted. Slate magazine, the spicy child of Michael Kinsley, and nowadays the property of The Washington Post, is celebrating its 10th anniversary, to which end it advertises an anthology, "The Best of Slate." One of the essays in it is a mordant derogation of George W. Bush.
This isn't accomplished by discussing five public issues on which the critic differs from Bush, effecting demonization. Such public questions are given here and there, but only as background matter, and the passing point is made that he is worse than his father. ("While some describe the second Bush presidency as a restoration, it is in at least equal measure a repudiation. The son's harder-edged conservatism explicitly rejects the old man's approach to such issues as abortion, taxes and relations with Israel.")
But the author of this 10th anniversary celebration of Bushwhacking coolly rises from all such political passions, preferring just to leave it that Bush is -- the temptation is to write, "sort of dumb," but Jacob Weisberg doesn't say that. He prefers just plain dumb.
On the matter of the president's uttering sentences that are garbled, Weisberg can't be argued with. But a difficulty with language can be attributed to many public figures, paradoxically, even to such as have proven skills. The young Dwight David Eisenhower, for instance, actually wrote military manuals when he served under Gen. Douglas MacArthur, who was a fussy overseer and a guardian of holy prose. And of course we know that en route to the White House, Ike served as president of Columbia University.
But it remains true that some of Ike's improvised spoken language was as impenetrable as the Rosetta stone. After his answer to the question, What would he do if the Soviet Union again laid siege on Berlin? someone made a wisecrack to the effect that resourceful Soviet cryptographers would have given Khrushchev absolutely contradictory accounts of what President Eisenhower threatened.
It was for many years insisted upon by detractors that Ronald Reagan was basically illiterate. That myth is receding, however reluctantly. For one thing, it runs up against the extraordinary letters by President Reagan to divers people on all subjects. Yet it is correct that if the assignment is to put together from Reagan press conferences structureless sentences with conflicting emphases, the job can be done.
Weisberg reproduces a few sentences from Bush that establish the claim of verbal clumsiness. But Weisberg won't settle for that. His thesis is that Bush is incompetent to think and speak, and that he elected to settle with that incompetence because of laziness, since thinking consumes intellectual calories.
Now there is a problem here, and Weisberg ignores it. It is that Bush has confronted in public contests nimble opponents. You would not do combat with the waspish Ann Richards, former governor of Texas, if you could help it. Ms. Richards is one of the sharpest tongues in town (it was she who said that the senior Bush was born with a silver foot in his mouth). Bush not only survived the encounter, he defeated the wasp.
George Bush met in public debate Al Gore, an experienced debater, and walked away with immunity, as he would do four years later in his encounters with John Kerry. Weisberg doesn't take on the question of Bush being accepted at Yale, and achieving enough credits to graduate. It requires skills not generally associated with idiocy to maneuver so as to win the nomination of a national political party, and then an election, not once but twice.
Mr. Weisberg's premise -- that to do this does not require intelligence, thoughtful planning and marginal lucidity -- has one wondering, but not about deficiencies in Bush. There manifestly aren't such in Weisberg in the matter of articulateness, so you find yourself playing with the derivations of it all: (1) You can't be stupid and become president; (2) You can be articulate and be stupid.
kay do'nt give your kid a hard time witch
ReplyDeleteWorfeus, I'm Italian/Indian/Swedish. I do not hold myself to any religious affiliation. I guess I could be Pagan because I take my natural surroundings as my guide but I don't call myself Pagan. I did, however, start my life out going to church and it was my experiences there that my very liberal parents said to my sister and I, "You know...we're not going to church anymore. We would much rather you girls form your own thoughts and ideas on what makes our world tick", and from that moment on, I did. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm not an expert on the Israeli conflicts but I am a well-connected person on the Internet and I am a part of many many groups online, one of which has some Jews on it. I've learned so much from them, but again, I look at life and every situation and approach it with an open mind. In recent months, there hadn't been much in the news about Israel until a bunch of Palestinians were killed on the beach and Israel claimed they were innocent. Well, I don't think Israel was innocent, in fact, all roads lead to the opposite in that one incident. Then, the Palestinians captured an Israeli soldier (it was reported as two originally) and the rest is history. I'm looking at what is happening NOW and not at the longevity of the conflicts over there. I'm a liberal and I don't like war and aggression...especially against innocent people! If the warmongers at the top want to kill each other, so be it. Let them. When Israel bombed the Palestinian infrastructure they put the whole place into peril and it bothers me. Why couldn't Israel just hand over a few Palestinians (who have been held for years I may add! with no legal representation I may add again!) in exchange for their soldier back? That would have been the diplomatic root, but Israel, who says outloud that it wants to live in peace, sure doesn't act like it sometimes! Most Americans are forgetting that the Palestinians were in the region first and most of the Jews there are European Jews, so the Palestinians sees them as the Infidels backed by the US Infidels! It's not good. It would be no different than telling the Iraqis that they are on OUR land now. I just find Israel to not be so innocent sometimes and their latest actions are confirming that for me.
I'm not a Jew hater either and I don't hate the Arabs. Like Maya Angelou said at Coretta Scott King's funeral as she turned around to look at Bush, who was sitting behind her, "I want to see some peace!". That's all I want too. I don't care who is the aggressor or invader....I just want to see some peace and some REAL diplomacy going on in our world!
Actually, Worf, he was elected. As was JFK, and FDR, who also came from prominent families.
ReplyDeleteLet me guess..."anonymous" who is talking about my child is really Voltaire or Freedom Fan? Not surprised! You guys are the cowards not me and it shows. But then again, you are the same people who say, "I love the Iraq war, the Afghan war and any other war that Bush is willing to create! I'm all for it! I love it love it love it!", and then when you're asked to join the military to go fight these wars you so love you say, "Uh, actually, I'm needed here at home. Errr, yeah, yeah, yeah, you see, Bush needs me to defend him online. Yeah, yeah, yeah...". Chickenhawk cowards. At least I stand up and say that I am against this war and don't pretend to be a fake patriot like you all are!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love my country more than you love Bush. Case closed.
Worf, the Electoral College is not a technicality. It was devised by our Founding Fathers. About once a century, the system leads to a result that may seem unfair, but that is our system.
ReplyDeleteThere are mechanisms to change it as well.
Yup, for the first time in history the voice of the people was squashed because the US Supreme Court decided to not have the votes counted to see who the majority of the country voted for, so instead, decided to put the right winger in! Is that how a democratic republic works? Nope! That's how a dictatorship works!
ReplyDeleteAfter the votes were counted, Gore had @ 500,000 more votes than George "Weiner" Bush did. Gore won it that year and to many Americans George Bush is not an American-citizen elected president which makes the 2004 election null set.
kay i feel sorry a kid who has to listen to you rage day and night
ReplyDeleteAnd the same Supreme Court, the ultimate law of the land that you lauded endlessly, ruled. I guess that institution is only great when its rulings coincide with your political views.

Read your history, Worf. Lincoln was probably more hated in his time. He imprisoned congressmen who opposed him, revoked habeas corpus, and even the Emancipation Proclamation was deemed unconstitutional. But today, we regard him as a great president.
Lincoln was so hated that half the country tried to leave the Union.
ReplyDeleteWell, more than half the voters preferred him in 2004 IN THIS COUNTRY.

The Supremes stopped the Florida judicial activists from doing what they pleased, flaunting the clearly worded rules made by Florida legislators duly elected by the people. They were correct to do so.
Although AlGore won the popular majority he did not win a majority of the electoral votes, which in our political system means he lost the election for President. It's interesting that no one ever suggests doing away with the electoral college; they know this would never fly with the less populated states.
After the official election results were in, every single Florida vote was counted and recounted ad nauseum. Every time the result was the same:
George W. Bush won fair and square.
But you bonehead libs already know all this; you just persist in repeating the lie that "Bush Stole the Election" because you get off on it. Nobody with a brain buys your silly propaganda. Whiners.

What! I can't believe it! Smeared with a disgusting lie by a liberal? How could this be? Don't libs always tell the truth?
When did anyone insinuate you would beat your kid? What I implied was that anyone living with someone so unhinged, so angry proly would be miserable. Your ex is exhibit A.
You are one very sad, nasty, sick, undoubtedly lonely person. You are without honor and you are a waste of my precious time. No one would ever want to be you or be anywhere near you. You have my pity. Goodbye and good luck.

whats a matter hippocritical Fascist Fan, you can dish it out but you cant take it, she did exactly what Troll tex did the other day by calling me and Lydia anti semetic and falsely claiming we said something we never did without offering a shred of proof and you not only didnt call him on it you defended him.
You clowns clearly attacked her personally then when she hit you back you cry and whine like a little girl, you anf TT have no honor FF you are a bunch of lying slandering trolls.
Sorry to differ with you Worf, but only a guest is invited.
ReplyDeleteHe/she/it was never invited.

Larry, Ms. Cornell quoted me on her blog, from an exchange we had on BradBlog. So in that sense she "invited" me as it would not be very sporting to talk about someone then not allow the opportunity to respond.
However if she asks me to leave, I will graciously oblige. But if she embraces disgusting people like kayinmaine while excluding someone who can balance her, her blog will see a major drop in interest. But that's her call.
you clowns tried to drive her off the blog with personal attacks instead of honest debate, if it were my blog and you pulled that sneaky crap with a new blogger the door wouldnt have time to hit you in the ass if you did that again after I warned you, see you clowns think your so slick but you are completely transparent.

ReplyDelete-Mike
Calling someone a child rapist for absolutely no reason is about the most fetid, vile thing I can imagine. If you are defending that, then you are no better.
Now I know how the Israelis feel when you libs level your bogus charges about them targeting civilians. With you it's all about politics and anything goes. Very sad indeed.
How is calling your political opponents rapists different from calling them anti semetic or saying they hate israel with no facts to back it up FF answer me that mr wanna be smart guy?
ReplyDeleteanother dodge Ff you STILL didnt address TT calling us anti semetic and saying we hate israel, come on punk if you dont like lies neither do we.
ReplyDeletearent you man enough to admit what Troll Tex did was wrong or are you just all about politics and truth and integrity be damned!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't sleep, Mike, so I thought I would repost my questions that you earlier promised to answer:
ReplyDeleteOk, Mike, here's your chance to set the record straight:
Do you think I am a Nazi?
Please name the individuals who you think are Nazis.
Is Bush a Nazi?
Is Karl Rove a Nazi?
When you write "KKKarl Rove" are you implying that he is a member of the Klan?
When you refer to the Republican Party as the "Reich Wing," you are implying that all Republicans are Nazis, no?
How is calling your political opponents rapists different from calling them anti semetic
ReplyDelete-Mike
Who said that? Not me. As you recall I was defending Ms. Cornell from the implication that she was anti-semitic.
So stop trying to smear me with words someone else may or may not have said.
Its July 23rd, Eastern time.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY LYDIA!!!
Hi TalllTexan.
ReplyDeleteDid you see that our lovely new visitor called me a child rapist?
She is one sick puppy indeed.
Ff said "Calling someone a child rapist for absolutely no reason is about the most fetid, vile thing I can imagine. If you are defending that, then you are no better."
ReplyDeleteYou show me where I defended it Ff I think lies and unsubstantiated allegations are dispicable, but it was amusing to see how you guys can dish it out but rant and cry bloody murder when you get a taste of your own medicine.
I think slander and lies are dispicable but if you and Troll Tex want to drag the discussion into the gutter with lies slander and personal attacks because your positions are too weak to stand up under their own merits then you will get what you give because the sword cuts both ways.
Happy Birthday, Ms. Cornell!
ReplyDeleteYes, FF, and as I said, it's all emotion and no facts with her. Pretty pathetic.
ReplyDeleteShe's stuck on the alleged Diebold conspiracy. You, they used Diebold machines in the election that brought Hamas to power. How does that fit into her conspiracy?
Troll Tex I will assure you will receive my response tomorrow, i'm not about to let you off the hook that easy
ReplyDeleteNow for your questions, I will make one thing abundantly clear if you PROMISE to write a legitimate response and answer my questions then I will agree to respond to yours otherwise you can kiss my ass
You know, Mike, I might have taken all that back sometime ago, but since you are unwilling to retract your Nazi allegations, I'm not exactly in a magnanimous mood about it.
ReplyDeleteTalllTexan,
ReplyDeleteAh the silly Diebold tautology. Libs can't accept that most folks don't hold their world view, therefore the elections must have been "stolen". Bwahaha.
What questions. I reposted my questions for you, so you can repost your questions for me.
ReplyDeleteFF you said something to the effect of "TT make sure you are not accusing someone of something without facts then never said another word when he kept saying it then even tried to blackmail me by striking a deal to not repeat his lie anymore.
ReplyDeleteTT let me just ask you this before I sign off did you not see the post that I reposted 3 times saying I never called all conservatives Nazi's in fact right after I posted it you get trying to imply that I was saying all conservatives were like Nazi's.....why is that?
ReplyDeleteoh, and implying that the entire Republican Party is full of Nazis by calling them "Reichwing" is not a lie?
ReplyDeleteAs I said, it must be hard for you to live with all these double standards.
Mike, just explain one thing: what does "Reichwing" refer to?
ReplyDeleteFirst like I said I never claimed al;l conservatives are bad or are like nazi's that is a lie.
ReplyDeletesecondly, while Reich Wing may be a derogatory name or generalization, it is not the same as claiming someone specifically is a racist or rapist or whatever.
It is also night and day diferent from lying and claiming someone said something they never said.
TT if you cant prove what you say why dont you just apologize and say you made a mistake and we can move on, we all make mistakes and say something we wish we could take back.
Mike, just explain one thing: what does "Reichwing" refer to?
ReplyDeleteMike: "secondly, while Reich Wing may be a derogatory name or generalization,"
ReplyDeleteYou know damn well what that implies, don't play dumb.
its a derogatory remark with obvious nazi connotations TT, just like FF says DHimmicrats are communists, sure its a jab, but its not attacking someone personally by saying they are antisemetic or a rapist with no proof to back up your accusations, if I called you a child molestor without any proof to back up my claim TT that would be more than just wrong it would be dispicable....BTW I have never slandered you as a person ever, I may have attacked your words or actions on the blog or how you are perceived on the blog but I never tried to slander you as a person or assassinate your character, that is dishonest and dispicable, and to be honest I thought even you were better than that.
ReplyDeleteTT do you see there is a difference between a vague derogatory generalization or name and a specific lie and unsubstantiated allegation aimed at a specific person.
ReplyDeleteMike, Worfeus just proved my point for me. You know what Reichwing refers to and are unwilling to condemn or retract those comments, but expect me to retract my comments. You must think I am a mark or a sucker. No deal.
ReplyDeleteAnd TT while you may not like my claim that I see similarities between the Bush administration and the Nazi's for the last 8 or 9 months I have provided numerous examples that have supported my position coupled with sound arguments and resoning that supports my position, while you have provided zilch, nada, nothing to support your lies slander and unsubstantiated accusations.
ReplyDeleteso I say to you either apologize and admit you were wrong and made a mistake or provide some evidence to support your allegations.
Are you to STUPID to see what i'm saying TT, I DONT HAVE TO RETRACT ANYTHING, I SUPPORTED MY POSITION, YOU DID NOT!
ReplyDeleteIF YOU DONT LIKE WHAT I SAY TO DAMN BAD I DONT LIKE MUCH OF WHAT YOU SAY EITHER
Mike: "so I say to you either apologize and admit you were wrong and made a mistake or provide some evidence to support your allegations."
ReplyDeleteOnly if you do the same. Sleep on it.
(BTW, this whole discussion is getting rediculous. Either there is a mutually apology and retraction or we move on. We've wasted too much times on this.)
are you stupid TT or do you have a reading comprehension problem in my 11:29 post before Worf I said what Reich Wing refers to.
ReplyDeleteDo you actually read what the opposition posts or do you just infer what you want their position to be without actually reading what they write.
I have now stated 6-7 times that I do not think all repugs are Nazi's and dont think they are all evil or bad people yet still you persist in trying to spin that as my position like a true liar.
Mike, I supported my position as well. You didn't buy into it just like I don't buy into your logic to support the proposition that the GOP is the "Reichwing Party."
ReplyDeleteThe issue of whether comments were general or specific is immaterial.
I'm not moving on you slimy troll your playing dumb is an obvious troll tactic to get me to move on so you wont have to acknowledge defeat and apologize, you've had your ass handed to you for the past 3 days yet still you wont apologize and move on and i'm not going to let you weasael out of this one, either you provide evidence to support your position or apologize and retract your statements or I will continue to humiliate you and make you look like the dirt dumb inbred fool you are.
ReplyDeleteReally TT you supported your position that Lydia and I are antisemetic and we hate Israel and we "STATED" that Israel does not have the right to exist or to defend itself from those bent on its destruction.........mind telling me where that evidence is genius necause i'm all ears.
ReplyDeleteWell, since your last post was so gracious and generous, I'll just have to say no.
ReplyDeleteBut you go ahead and enforce your threat to make me capitulate to your demands.
Come on Troll Tex, were did you support the position I just outlined in your fantasy world, cause it sure aint on this blog, of that I am positive.
ReplyDeleteWorf, I was being sarcastic.
ReplyDeleteSweet dreams, ladies.
TT said "But you go ahead and enforce your threat to make me capitulate to your demands."
ReplyDeleteAnother Lie, boy you are just digging your self deeper and deeper Eric, when did I ever threaten to make you capitulate to anything....show me that too while you are at it Eric?
Worf, I am ready to move on. Mike is keeping this issue alive.
ReplyDeleteI'll be waiting Eric!
ReplyDeletesure YOU are ready to move on Troll Tex, you've had your ass handed to you for the last 3 days.
ReplyDeleteMike, you are delusional.
ReplyDeleteMore sunshine from the lovely kayinmaine:
ReplyDeleteKatherine Harris is scheduled for to have an ovary removed... and by the looks of this scag, it appears that her doctors are not revealing to the public the actual truth about her health! But then again, this woman was instrumental in helping George Bush steal the election in 2000, so it's not surprising that her face is turning red. Expect horns at any moment...
-kayinmaine
Remember Katherine Harris? What did she do that was so awful that she deserves to be smeared in this adolescent fashion? That's right 6 years ago, she enforced the clearly worded letter of the law enacted by voters of Florida through their legislative representatives.
But because the libs' hero AlGore lost the election, the Ms. Harris has been eternally besmirked by berserk libs ever since.
This tells a decent person everything he needs to know about the kayinmaine. Folks of her ilk are gripped by an insane anger which knows no bounds; anything goes, even accusing a stranger of molesting children.

what was the margin of victory by the idiot in florida again..son?
Federal official vote for the state of Florida (25 electoral votes)
George W. Bush (W) 2,912,790
Al Gore 2,912,253
Thus according to you genius Bush won by 537 votes, I wonder who would have to have been certified the winner if Katherine Harris hadn't ignored her real JOB OF ENSURING EVERY ELEDGIBLE LEGAL VOTER GOT THE RIGHT TO VOTE, and her statement she would deliver Florida for Bush just proves she was particin instead of impartcial
Goodmorning Internet Trolls! Now that I've had a good nights sleep, I'm ready for ya again!
ReplyDeleteAnswer me this: in a democracy, the citizens of the country elect their government by voting which is a reflection of the people's voice. So, please explain to me why Al Gore had the popular vote throughout the country (he had more votes than Bush...waaaayyyyy more), but yet, the US Supreme court DID NOT DEMAND THAT EVERY VOTE BE COUNTED SO THEY COULD KNOW WHAT THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE WAS SAYING AT THAT TIME. Had the Court done that, Al Gore would have had to have been chosen for the presidency that year! But, it didn't happen. The US Supreme Court squashed the voice of the people and chose who they wanted. Is that democracy? Nope! The most amazing part? Sandra Day O'Connor (a repub on the US Supreme Court) was the deciding vote and after she retired from the Court last year she has said numerous times THAT SHE REGRETS CHOOSING BUSH FOR THE PRESIDENCY. Why does she feel that way? Because she sees HIS ACTIONS in the last 6 years as TEETERING ON A DICTATORSHIP.......and she is concerned for her country! Wow! Another republican who has regrets in electing an Fascist Pig Oil Maggot to the presidency. I know how she feels, though, I can't be blamed because I never voted for him either time and because of him I WILL NEVER, EVER, EVER VOTE FOR ANOTHER REPUBLICAN FOR AS LONG AS I LIVE (unless there is a 360 degree change in the party! Won't happen though!). But, even if there is a change, I'm not sure I could trust the republicans ever again!
Also, I don't think Katherine Harris or anyone deserves to have cancer. I've seen enough people in my life suffer through it and it's not something that I would wish on anyone. But, that doesn't mean I can't DESPISE AND HATE THE WOMAN, get it? She was Secretary of State under Jeb Bush during the 2000 election and they both were tirelessly making sure that people were not able to vote....especially if they had parking tickets or speeding tickets. Huh? Yeah, that's what they were doing.....SUPPRESSING THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE. But that is what dictatorships do, right? Yeah, even in Iraq, the people get their purple fingers BUT THE U.S. PICKS WHOEVER THEY WANT TO LEAD THE COUNTRY! If you haven't noticed, those at the top keep changing!!!! No democracy in Iraq either and this is why Putin cringed when Bush said that Russia should have a democracy just like Iraq!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is Isreal winning yet? Nope! It appears that all the bombs that Bush is sending over there isn't working!!!! Interesting, killing people isn't working. What about using peace by stopping the needless killing and start using their voices? Are you kidding! Dictators and Unitary Executives don't use their voices to spread peace...no no...they use the latest technology in wmd!!! Of course, Hezbollah is scattered throughout the Middle East and the world, but that isn't going to stop the BULLIES from killing innocent men, women, and children though! Oh no, that's not what they're talking about. The Pigs are chanting and they are chanting loudly:
WAR IS PEACE,
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY,
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH!
Awwwww yes....Orwell's world is here. Let me know when the Pigs start standing on their hind legs!!!!
Also, answer me this!
ReplyDeleteWHAT DOES THE REPUBLICAN PARTY STAND FOR? WHAT MAKES THE REPUBLICAN PARTY TICK?
I've asked that question for years and have never been given an answer. You'd think that by now at least one of the Neocon Trolls would have copied and pasted something into their documents so they could just whip it out to show liberals proudly what their party stands for! But no! Nothing. Isn't that funny...
...is the reason why you Trolls don't put down what your party stands for because you have no idea what your party stands for? Or are you ashamed of the fact that the republican party years and years ago did stand for lots of things but today's republicans are hypocrites and are far removed from their own ideology? Is it because if you were to list them out everyone would point and laugh because YOUR PARTY DOESN'T FOLLOW WHAT YOU STAND FOR ANYMORE?
I would love to know the answers! Help me out.

The Bush Cartel is not involved in any way shape or form with the current Israeli conflict:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.waynemadsenreport.com/
From Wayne Madsen's site:
July 22/23, 2006 -- The Israeli invasion of Lebanon was planned between top Israeli officials and members of the Bush administration. On June 17 and 18, former Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Likud Knesset member Natan Sharansky met with Vice President Dick Cheney at the American Enterprise Institute conference in Beaver Creek, Colorado. There, the impending Israeli invasions of both Gaza and Lebanon were discussed. After receiving Cheney's full backing for the invasion of Gaza and Lebanon, Netanyahu flew back to Israel and participated in a special "Ex-Prime Ministers" meeting, in which he conveyed the Bush administration's support for the carrying out of the "Clean Break" policy -- the trashing of all past Middle East peace accords, including Oslo. Present at the meeting, in addition to Netanyahu, were current Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and former Prime Ministers Ehud Barak and Shimon Peres. Former Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir is very old and suffers from dementia and Ariel Sharon remains in a coma after a series of strokes.
Oh yes, and don't forget, the bombs that the Bush Cartel is providing to Israel are "nice bombs" and are not those kind of bombs laced with depleted uranium or napalm-like substances! Oh wait, nope, that's not true. Oh boy.
If Bush & Cheney want peace, why are they doing this? Oh yeah, that's right....they want to control the region's oil, so providing Israel with lots of big bad bombs will EVENTUALLY PROVOKE IRAN TO ATTACK ISRAEL.....and then (Phew!) the US will have a "LEGITIMATE" reason to start bombing Iran to get their oil!
It's part of the Evil Plan hashed out in the 1990's.

Kay, this is horrifying. No wonder Bush was giggling with his mouth full, skipping around the G8 summit. He got everything he wanted: permanent war and chaos in the middle east.
ReplyDeleteAnd the administration didn't even care about getting the Americans out of lebanon in a hurry since a nice attack on a cruise ship full of Americans would be even more impetus to launch all-out war.
They can't even hide their motives anymore.
THIS EXPLAINS WHY CONDI DID NOT GO OVER THERE WITH URGENCY. THEY OF COURSE ARE NOT REALLY INTERESTED IN PEACE.
Ronald Reagan would never have behaved this way. At his soul, he at least had principles. No good person could advocate or push war on people if they have a heart or morals of any kind.
That's what the Repugs stand for: self-centered greed and lack of compassion for humanity.

He would have "threatened" war, instead of actually bombing others. I do not like many of Reagan's policies, but can't you see what a long way you've regressed since the Reagan years?
ReplyDeleteMoo Moo said: Lydia, how do you feel about the mudslingin tactics that your side engages in like implying that all GOPers are Nazis by calling the GOP "the Reichwing Party," or implying that Karl Rove is a member of the Klan by calling him "KKKarl Rove"?
That's not mudslinging; that's the Truth. Bush, Rove and Cheney and FAUX news use the same tactics Hitler did. DO YOUR RESEARCH.
PRAY FOR PEACE.
"I hate Bush, his family, and his friends."
ReplyDeleteJohnny Moo Moo, if I'm not mistaken, isn't it Bush who for years has said in not so many words that the Muslim "terrorists" (does anyone know what a Muslim terrorist looks like without being told? Huh? All are included then!) are Evil and must be eradicated from the Earth? Is that love that he speaks of or is that classic hate to unify the lunkheads who support him to keep the hatred going? I'm confused.
If it helps: I DESPISE BUSH, HIS FAMILY, AND THEIR FRIENDS. Okay? I really do hate them however. They stand for the complete opposite of love. Lying, stealing, killing, murdering, and greed are not loving acts in my opinion.
Hate is a 4-letter word and so isn't "s**t" but Bush has no problem saying it even though the laws of our land say that this word cannot be spoken on the t.v. without major financial consequences! So, if he can say 4-letter words that is not accepted by the public, then I can too. This is the world created under Bush. Remember when the nation reacted negatively when he called certain countries "Evil"? Well, he didn't care...he still called them Evil.
Thank you for all the birthday wishes.

Oh , one more thing
ReplyDeleteWORFEUS SAID: Reichwing refers to the astounding and clearly evident similarities between Hitler and the Nazi party's rise to power following a terrorist attack known as the Reichstag fire, which helped give Hitler a mandate which later produced his famous Enabling Act, and Bush and the Republican party's rise to power following a terrorist attack known as 911, which helped give Bush a mandate which later produced his famous Patriot Act.
Thats what reichwing means.
Lydia, the Klan and the Nazis were reprehensible organizations, dut did they use the same tactics?
ReplyDeleteLydia and Worf, if you can invent your own meanings than so can I.
ReplyDeleteAnti-semite means not supporting Israel in a fight against a terrorist organization.
TallTexan, as a liberal, I am against war. What is going to be accomplished by killing innocent people all over the Middle East to find and eradicate Hezbollah? Huh? You mean it's okay for the US to back Israel as Israel widens their aggression throughout the Middle East destroying everything in it's path all because of one of their soldiers being taken? Does that make sense to you? I don't like my country acting this way either. It's bad enough that Bush and his Brownshirts chose to illegally invade and occupy a sovereign nation on fake evidence (evidence that most of the democrats in the Senate who were on the Senate Intelligence Committee knew in an instant that the documents were fake and forgeries! They didn't vote for the war!) and have killed thousands and thousands of innocent Iraqis to get Saddam! Why didn't they use our CIA to go in and get Saddam to take him down that way? Oh yeah! I remember now! Invading Iraq had nothing to do with taking down Saddam. Oh no, it had everything to do with getting in there to capture the oil and to use this new oil to drive up market prices! They want to do that with Iran too, so now they are using Israel to PROVOKE AN ATTACK BY IRAN, so they can get the oil there too!
ReplyDeleteWhen the Palestinians captured one of Israel's soldiers, what would have been wrong with releasing some of the Palestinians who have remained in prison in Israel for years now without being charged with a crime? Huh? What would have been wrong with doing that? I'll tell you why......because Bush and Cheney need ANY REASON to get into Iran, so again, they've been behind the scenes with Israel conspiring and we are witnessing their Evil Plan.

There, shove that up your fat ass.
Let's see, here's a few similiarities between Hitler's Regime and Bush's Cartel:
ReplyDelete1) Both use the media to catapult their propaganda.
2) Both created a "fire" to get what they wanted (Bush ignored the 52 PDBs coming across his desk prior to 9/11....he ignored what was happening even on the morning of 9/11...he, his PNACers, and his FBI ignored everything. Hell, even two of the hijackers stayed with an FBI agent in Florida a few weeks before 9/11...interesting that this FBI agent didn't know who they were but his own agencies website released their photos on the day of 9/11! Wow!) (And Hitler was told by a "psychic" that a government building would burn to the ground and would give him reason to invade the enemies country (Poland) and sure enough...BAMMO!....the Reichstag fire was born)
3) Both suppress the opposition (protesters in Bush's case are kept in cages 2 miles from wherever Bush is speaking, some get arrested for yelling words, and some are dragged out of the House of Reps for wearing a t-shirt that lists out the number of soldier's killed) (Hitler would just kill those who opposed him)
4) Both have created their "own religion" by distorting Christianity into a blood thristy killing machine!
5) Both were addicted to drugs
6) Both had (and have) a woman by their sides who wore nice clothes and didn't question the policies of their husbands. The women just nod their heads in agreement.
7) Both had/have secret prisons where people are being tortured just for being of a certain religion or skin color
Well, that's a few similiarities!
Lydia says she wants to help build a bridge of peace between Democrats and Republicans, but she insists on labelling GOPers as "Nazis." You won't build your bridge with that kind of rhetoric.

I agree Lydia! Everything the Bush Cartel does is INTENTIONAL. Everything. In hindsight, it wasn't surprising that the Patriot Act, which is over 300 pages long, was hashed out so quickly! It was created in the 1990s by the PNACers who are currently in the Bush Regime. Even 9/11 was part of the plan in my eyes. They've ignored the important and real warnings and have created fake warnings to brainwash the public!
It never ends. Reagan was a sweet man, but he is the one that started this mindset with republicans of today that if one is wealthy they should just spend, spend, spend and not care that there are people in our country starving! Reagan also was an opportunist too. Pope John Paul and others were working tirelessly to get the wall down and right when it was about to...Reagan made his famous speech. The brainwashed neocons in the country under Reagan thought Reagan was 'magical' and 'had the power'. It was an illusion. Nonetheless, it was a tragedy that he got Alzheimers. I felt bad for Nancy for years because at the end of his life....he didn't know who she was and we all know they had a great love. Very sad. His policies, however, were very damaging to the psyche of our nation and they still are!
Hezbollah Lets Iran Buy Time for Nukes: Destroying U.S. Goal of Tehran
ReplyDeleteBy Orde Kittrie

The big winner thus far in the clash between Hezbollah and Israel is Iran. Through attacks by its proxy, Hezbollah, Iran is deftly succeeding in distracting the world from the rapidly progressing Iranian nuclear weapons program.
Iran's success brings it one step closer to one of its ultimate goals. That goal is America's destruction. As Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has starkly put it: "God willing, with the force of God behind it, we shall soon experience a world without the United States. . . . This goal is attainable, and surely can be achieved."
Why does Iran want to destroy the United States? advertisement
Because the United States is the foremost purveyor of Western culture. Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, wants to root out Western culture because it is contrary to Islam and in his view directs "everyone toward materialism while money, gluttony and carnal desires are made the greatest aspiration." As Khamenei put it in an interview in May 2004: "The source of all human torment and suffering is the 'liberal democracy' promoted by the West."
Iranian President Ahmadinejad claims he was divinely given the presidency for a single task: provoking a “clash of civilizations” wherein the Muslim world, led by Iran, defeats the “infidel” West, led by the United States, and thereby hastens the return of the “Hidden Imam,” a messiah-like figure. According to Hassan Abbassi, chief strategist for the Iranian Revolutionary Guards: “We have a strategy drawn up for the destruction of Anglo-Saxon civilization . . . There are 29 sensitive sites in the U.S. and in the West . . . We know how we are going to attack them . . . Anything that can be done to terrorize and create fright in the infidel camp is our privilege and honor. . . We have to uproot liberal democracy from the face of the world."
What is Iran's connection to Hezbollah?
Iran founded Hezbollah, arms it, trains it, and provides it with $20 million to $40 million per month. At Iran's direction, Hezbollah had, prior to Sept. 11, 2001, killed more Americans around the world than any other terrorist organization.
How is Iran using Hezbollah's recent attacks on Israel to advance Iran's nuclear weapons program?
This is a textbook example of how a terrorism-supporting state, Iran, like a master magician can use its left hand, Hezbollah, to distract the world from the more significant action it is undertaking with its right hand, the development of a nuclear arsenal capable of threatening the United States.
This has been a crucial month for Iran's work to acquire both components of such an arsenal: nuclear warheads and the missiles capable of carrying those warheads to the United States. On July 4, Iranian officials participated in North Korea's test launch of a missile which, when perfected, would be capable of hitting Alaska, Hawaii, California, and as far inland as Arizona. The United States, Europe, Japan and others began to discuss how to punish North Korea for this test and dissuade it from future such tests.
On July 11, Ali Larijani, Iran's national security adviser, met with Javier Solana, the European Union diplomat who represents Europe and the United States in negotiations to convince Iran to give up its nuclear weapons program. Solana had in early June presented a very generous offer to Iran of various incentives in exchange for Iran ceasing its nuclear weapons program. Solana wanted a response to the generous offer.
Larijani's response at the July 11 meeting made it clear that Iran is simply dragging out the negotiations to buy time to advance its nuclear weapons program. "The Iranians have given no indication at all that they are ready to engage seriously on the substance of our proposals," announced the French foreign minister on behalf of the United States, France, Britain, Russia, China, Germany and the European Union. "In this context," he declared, "we have no choice but to return to the United Nations Security Council" for a resolution ordering Iran to suspend its nuclear weapons program.
The world seemed to be turning against Iran, and Iran was in a bind. Larijani flew directly from his meeting with Solana to meetings in Damascus with Syrian President Bashar Assad and senior Hezbollah and Hamas leaders. The next day, Hezbollah fired dozens of Iranian and Syrian made missiles at Israel and dispatched its guerillas across the international border to kidnap Israelis. In the days since, Hezbollah has launched 1,000 more rockets at Israeli cities.
Iran's gambit succeeded. At the G-8 summit, the focus was on the televised fighting between Hezbollah and Israel rather than on Iran's quiet nuclear weapons program. Russia announced it would not agree to impose sanctions on Iran. The plan for a Security Council resolution ordering Iran to suspend that program is on hold. And the world has lost interest in seriously pressuring North Korea over the missile tests it conducted in partnership with Iran.
In this era of CNN and the Internet, it is easy to be distracted by news stories with vivid images. Yet every day, far from the news cameras, Iran is pushing forward with its nuclear weapons program, and continuing to work with North Korea to develop missiles capable of delivering those nuclear weapons to the United States.
If the West does not refocus and do whatever it takes to stop Iran's nuclear weapons program, Israel's current difficulties fending off Iranian-made conventional rockets could turn out to be a mere pale preview of U.S. difficulties fending off Iranian-made nuclear-armed missiles. And we will risk someday finding ourselves staring at bombed-out U.S. cities and wishing we had kept our eye on Iran's right hand and taken a stand while we still could.

Troll Tex Said "Lydia says she wants to help build a bridge of peace between Democrats and Republicans, but she insists on labelling GOPers as "Nazis." You won't build your bridge with that kind of rhetoric."
ReplyDeleteShe never said all GOPers ar Nazi's she said she agreed with my post that the Bush Administration and some of those who support them are like Nazi's.
Mikem any way you slice it, Lydia will fail in her goal with comparisons of any kind of the GOP to Nazis. It really is that simple.
ReplyDeleteMike: What does "KKKarl Rove" refer to?
ReplyDeleteTallTexan, let's not forget that people of Iran elected their leader! Why would they elect someone like him? Because it is in response to Bush's illegal invasion of Iraq!
ReplyDeleteIf Bush was concerned with Iran coming over the border into Iraq (which they have), then why didn't he first off secure the borders of Iraq instead of securing the oil fields first? Huh? Again, all part of the plan.
Also, let's not forget that the nation of Iran has a whole generation of people gone because of the 10-year war between Iran and Iraq. Most of the young people who remain are in their 20-30s and like American society. The Iranian people don't like however...America butting in! Wasn't it Osama who once said that Americans being on the groud militarily in the Middle East is what he despises? He also stated that our CIA does things behind the scenes that hurts Arabs and others. He doesn't like our agression and neither do most Arabs and Muslims in the Middle East.
Americans are not barbarains, but one would never come to that conclusion because of the actions of YOUR PRESIDENT over the past 6 years!
Kay, if you were older, I bet you would have gone with "Hanoi Jane" to pose with VC soldiers.
ReplyDeleteBTW, Bush IS your president. That you didn't vote for himis of no moment. We only have one president at a time, and, right now Bush is YOUR president too.
TalllTexan,
ReplyDeleteTwistedSister here hypocritically complains about Conservative name calling, but that is essentially all she is capable of doing herself.
Witness her demonization of Ms. Harris as satan, me as a child molester, and Dubya as a nazi. She is one sick, hateful excuse for a person; beyond the worst caricature of a liberal that Conservatives could invent.
You may be interested in checking out my essay on Fascism.
Liberals are fond of calling Conservatives “fascists” and “racists” and other lovely epithets. These are truly despicable terms, which flash disturbing images of Hitler, concentration camps, mass murder, the enslavement of citizens by tyrants, and imperialism. Fascism as perfected by the Nazis easily represents the lowest point to which humanity has ever sunk...

Oh, and by the way Trolls, my cousin Scott was in Iraq for the past 2 years. He's my age. In fact, he and another cousin of mine were in the first Persian Gulf war and served honorably. Scott re-enlisted after 9/11 because he believed Bush's rhetoric. Scott was sent to the Green Zone and was in direct communication with me the whole time (he came back this past February). He said he saw things that would make a billy goat puke and also said the Green Zone was a dangerous place even though the US media was making it out to be a wonderful place to be. But! At some point, Kellogg, Brown, & Root got ahold of him and he started doing security for that (Evil) company. Guess what he said? He said the conditions working for KBR was much better than being a US soldier. Why? BECAUSE OUR SOLDIERS ARE PROTECTING CORPORATE AMERICA'S INTERESTS OVER THERE!!!! Isn't that interesting....Bush illegally invades and starts an immoral occupation and the first thing he does is secure the oil fields and bomb the infrastructure of the country. This allows American businesses to come in drobes and our soldiers are used to protect them. What about the Iraqis? Who was protecting them? No one! This is why the country has plummeted into chaos and why a civil war has been raging for at least a year now. Bush and his Brownshirts have ignored the Iraqi people and their safety and it shows.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah......and guess what? Iraq only gets 2-4 hours of electricity a day over there while Halliburton, KBR and other American businesses have plenty of it! Now, wouldn't you think since GE (General Electric) has been over there all this time that the electricity would be up and running? Nope!!!!!!!!!!! AMERICAN BUSINESSES ARE CHARGING OUR GOVERNMENT FOR SERVICES THAT ARE NOT RENDERED! Yup, stealing American's money. Awwwww, that is so Christian don't you think? What a nice world Bush is showing our kids today. At this point, I would be happy if Condi was giving him a BJ rather than what he and his Brownshirts have been doing!
Prior to the illegal invasion, who was handling the Iraqi oil/refineries, the electricity, the water, and the construction of buildings? Huh? The Iraqis! But Bush and his Liars want Americans to believe that only American businesses know how to do all that!
Iraq is a Bush/PNAC new society created by them. Just like at the start of our America, these guys want to own their own country and create it in their image. No wonder Bush gave John Negroponte (yes, Mr. Death Squad himself!) presidential authority to allow American businesses in Iraq TO NOT HAVE TO KEEP BOOKS OR RECORDS OF THEIR DAILY STEALING (er, I mean, their daily transactions)! This explains why the GAO (Government Accountability Office) has no idea where the money is going in Iraq! It's a free for all!
I'll read it, FF. They just blow a gasket when I call them on their hypocritical BS.
ReplyDeleteFascism is the corporations ruling the country and making all the decisions, so therefore, our current Admin. is being run by Fascists. The End.

FF how come it is ok for Troll Tex to Call, Lydia, me and Worf anti semetic and say we hate isreal, that is essentially calling us a racist, why is it ok for him?
and dont think because you once said that he shouild have proof before he makes accusations like that, that is denouncing it he has proceeded to say it over and over again after you said this and even to resort to blackmail and striking deals wherein he will not lie and slander us with unsubstantiated accusations if we stop saying something we not only believe but have provided numerous evidence to support our claim while he has provided none.
ReplyDelete14 POINTS OF FASCISM
ReplyDelete1. Powerful and continuing expressions of nationalism
From the prominent displays of flags and bunting to the ubiquitous lapel pins, the fervor to show patriotic nationalism, both on the part of the regime itself and of citizens caught up in its frenzy, was always obvious. Catchy slogans, pride in the military, and demands for unity were common themes in expressing this nationalism. It was usually coupled with a suspicion of things foreign that often bordered on xenophobia.
2. Disdain for the importance of human rights
The regimes themselves viewed human rights as of little value and a hindrance to realizing the objectives of the ruling elite. Through clever use of propaganda, the population was brought to accept these human rights abuses by marginalizing, even demonizing, those being targeted. When abuse was egregious, the tactic was to use secrecy, denial, and disinformation.
3. Identification of enemies/scapegoats as a unifying cause
The most significant common thread among these regimes was the use of scapegoating as a means to divert the people’s attention from other problems, to shift blame for failures, and to channel frustration in controlled directions. The methods of choice—relentless propaganda and disinformation—were usually effective. Often the regimes would incite “spontaneous” acts against the target scapegoats, usually communists, socialists, liberals, Jews, ethnic and racial minorities, traditional national enemies, members of other religions, secularists, homosexuals, and “terrorists.” Active opponents of these regimes were inevitably labeled as terrorists and dealt with accordingly.
4. The supremacy of the military/avid militarism
Ruling elites always identified closely with the military and the industrial infrastructure that supported it. A disproportionate share of national resources was allocated to the military, even when domestic needs were acute. The military was seen as an expression of nationalism, and was used whenever possible to assert national goals, intimidate other nations, and increase the power and prestige of the ruling elite.
5. Rampant sexism
Beyond the simple fact that the political elite and the national culture were male-dominated, these regimes inevitably viewed women as second-class citizens. They were adamantly anti-abortion and also homophobic. These attitudes were usually codified in Draconian laws that enjoyed strong support by the orthodox religion of the country, thus lending the regime cover for its abuses.
6. A controlled mass media
Under some of the regimes, the mass media were under strict direct control and could be relied upon never to stray from the party line. Other regimes exercised more subtle power to ensure media orthodoxy. Methods included the control of licensing and access to resources, economic pressure, appeals to patriotism, and implied threats. The leaders of the mass media were often politically compatible with the power elite. The result was usually success in keeping the general public unaware of the regimes’ excesses.
7. Obsession with national security
Inevitably, a national security apparatus was under direct control of the ruling elite. It was usually an instrument of oppression, operating in secret and beyond any constraints. Its actions were justified under the rubric of protecting “national security,” and questioning its activities was portrayed as unpatriotic or even treasonous.
8. Religion and ruling elite tied together
Unlike communist regimes, the fascist and protofascist regimes were never proclaimed as godless by their opponents. In fact, most of the regimes attached themselves to the predominant religion of the country and chose to portray themselves as militant defenders of that religion. The fact that the ruling elite’s behavior was incompatible with the precepts of the religion was generally swept under the rug. Propaganda kept up the illusion that the ruling elites were defenders of the faith and opponents of the “godless.” A perception was manufactured that opposing the power elite was tantamount to an attack on religion.
9. Power of corporations protected
Although the personal life of ordinary citizens was under strict control, the ability of large corporations to operate in relative freedom was not compromised. The ruling elite saw the corporate structure as a way to not only ensure military production (in developed states), but also as an additional means of social control. Members of the economic elite were often pampered by the political elite to ensure a continued mutuality of interests, especially in the repression of “have-not” citizens.
10. Power of labor suppressed or eliminated
Since organized labor was seen as the one power center that could challenge the political hegemony of the ruling elite and its corporate allies, it was inevitably crushed or made powerless. The poor formed an underclass, viewed with suspicion or outright contempt. Under some regimes, being poor was considered akin to a vice.
11. Disdain and suppression of intellectuals and the arts
Intellectuals and the inherent freedom of ideas and expression associated with them were anathema to these regimes. Intellectual and academic freedom were considered subversive to national security and the patriotic ideal. Universities were tightly controlled; politically unreliable faculty harassed or eliminated. Unorthodox ideas or expressions of dissent were strongly attacked, silenced, or crushed. To these regimes, art and literature should serve the national interest or they had no right to exist.
12. Obsession with crime and punishment
Most of these regimes maintained Draconian systems of criminal justice with huge prison populations. The police were often glorified and had almost unchecked power, leading to rampant abuse. “Normal” and political crime were often merged into trumped-up criminal charges and sometimes used against political opponents of the regime. Fear, and hatred, of criminals or “traitors” was often promoted among the population as an excuse for more police power.
13. Rampant cronyism and corruption
Those in business circles and close to the power elite often used their position to enrich themselves. This corruption worked both ways; the power elite would receive financial gifts and property from the economic elite, who in turn would gain the benefit of government favoritism. Members of the power elite were in a position to obtain vast wealth from other sources as well: for example, by stealing national resources. With the national security apparatus under control and the media muzzled, this corruption was largely unconstrained and not well understood by the general population.
14. Fraudulent elections
Elections in the form of plebiscites or public opinion polls were usually bogus. When actual elections with candidates were held, they would usually be perverted by the power elite to get the desired result. Common methods included maintaining control of the election machinery, intimidating and disenfranchising opposition voters, destroying or disallowing legal votes, and, as a last resort, turning to a judiciary beholden to the power elite.
NOTE: The above 14 Points was written in 2004 by Dr. Laurence Britt, a political scientist. Dr. Britt studied the fascist regimes of: Hitler (Germany), Mussolini (Italy), Franco (Spain), Suharto (Indonesia), and Pinochet (Chile).

Mike, I am now illustrating the hypocrisy of your position. I was prepared to retract my comments, but since you persisted in your sick comparisons, I decided not to. FF is not responsible for my comments. You got a problem, bring it up with me. Get it? Sloooow Mike?
ReplyDeletedecayinbrain left us with a lovely cut-and-paste of a "scholarly" article which I have already refuted, point by point in my essay on "Fascism".
ReplyDeleteThese addled libs are one-trick ponies.
TT answer me this one question do you think it is the same to make a generalization that compares a broad unspecified group to something derogatort as it is to specifically say a specific person IS something derogatort.
ReplyDeleteFor expample is it the same to same "SOME" repugs are "LIKE" nazi's as it is to say MIKE and LYDIA ARE anti semetic while providing no proof to back up yoor claims and position, while I provided numerous examples as well as sound reasoning why I feel they are similar over the last 9 months or so.
By your logic I can say TT "IS" a child molestor and I require no proof to support that claim, do I ?
in your fantasy land you refuted it FF. you really believe you arte smarter than the average bear and you dont lose these arguments dont ya FF, Clif has kicked your can consistently from day one, he owns you Freedom Foe!
ReplyDeleteIf you dispute that article (my cut and paste), then you must dispute the facts of Communism and must have assured everyone you know that liberals are not communists then, huh? You're saying that the points of Fascism laid out by this person (actually at the end it says that it was written in 2004 but I'm almost positive it was written in 1994) are all lies. Okay, well here is the definition of fascism from Merriam-Webster dictionary:

- fas·cis·tic/fa-'shis-tik also -'sis-/ adjective often capitalized
- fas·cis·ti·cal·ly/-ti-k(&-)le/ adverb often capitalized
Pronunciation Key
TallTexan, do you dispute this definition too which is basically saying the same thing as the 14 Points I just pasted?
Mike, I answered this yesterday. It is of no consequence that the sick comaprison is of a general or specific nature.
ReplyDeleteNow answer my question:
Ok, Mike, here's your chance to set the record straight:
Do you think I am a Nazi?
Please name the individuals who you think are Nazis.
Is Bush a Nazi?
Is Karl Rove a Nazi?
When you write "KKKarl Rove" are you implying that he is a member of the Klan?
When you refer to the Republican Party as the "Reich Wing," you are implying that all Republicans are Nazis, no?
Eric, starting with the Sloow mike comments, your not getting frustrated because you are getting your can kicked and arent smart enough to answer my questions or respond to my arguments are ya?
ReplyDelete...I can say TT "IS" a child molestor and I require no proof to support that claim, do I ?
ReplyDelete-Mike
Apparently you understand with crystal clarity what it means to be a liberal. DeKayInBrain has demonstrated that "liberal" is an epithet far worse than anything the talk show jocks could imagine.
I AM NOT ANSWERING TILL YOU ANSWER ME
ReplyDeleteis it the same to state that "SOME" republicans are "SIMILAR" to NAZI's as it is to state that TT "IS" a CHILD MOLESTOR" with no proof to back up this claim?
Give em heck Mike! The Trolls don't like it if one makes sense. They like to confuse the conversation by correcting spelling and making sure to point the finger back to take the heat off themselves. They think by 'cutting and pasting' means that us liberals don't know what we're talking about, but if you scroll up you will see them cutting and pasting articles on this thread!
ReplyDeleteWow! The hypocracy is so deep today coming from the Trolls that I've had to resort to standing on my roof just to talk to them!
FF dishonest as ever trying to use my words out of context to mean the opposite of what I intended, I was saying that it is dispicable to slander someone and try to portray them as something with unsubstantiated allegations and lies and FF dishonestly tries to imply I said the opposite........why is that FF you arent smart enough to win a debate with out lying and dishonestly portraying your opponents position falsely?
ReplyDeleteYou guys didn't say "some members of the Reichwing," you didn't qualify it all with the word "some."
ReplyDeleteYou blurted out Reichwing, referring to the GOP, of which I am a member.

Mike, you never qualified your comments with the word "some."
answer my question TT is making a specific personal attack directed at you spercifically the same as making a general dertogatory statement directed vagely at a broader unspecified group?
ReplyDeleteSpecifically is me saying TT "IS" a child molestor the same as saying "SOME" repugs are like Nazi's?
I stated 7 times I dont feel all repugs are like Nazi's i'll even repost it again for you,
ReplyDeleteWHY do you persistently keep ignoring my post and trying to dishonestly spin it as if i'm saying all repugs, Lydia saw the post you posted right arouind that post and I reposted that post 4 times while you were here each time.

Please demonstrate where I have told a lie, and I will cheerfully retract it as I have done on several occasions. You never have.
As for honor, you have chosen to embrace a fellow liberal who routinely smears her political opponents as nazis, satan, and child molesters.
Congratulations.
TT here is one of my posts from yesterday:
ReplyDeleteI said the Bush Administration behave in many ways like Nazi's and use similar tactics to those the Nazi's used, and "SOME" but not all of their supporters use nazi tactics, on the same token there are many good republicans that are opposed to the Bush Administration and many Good Republicans that support some of Bush;s policies and are strongly opposed to others.
See its you guys that make the sweeping black and white your either with me or against me generalizations.
Dems generally dont ever see the world as black and white, to say you support the terrorists if you dont support Bush or Iraq or hate Isrtael and dont think it has a right to defend itself or exist just because we dont support them slaughtering civillians is riddiculous.
Mike, how about retracting or condemning the hundreds of posts prior to that from you and others that did not include the qualifier "some."
ReplyDeleteUhh...somehow I don't think Kay was the first in here to call you Nazis.
ReplyDeleteJust a hunch.

Nope deKayInBrain carries the distinction of being the first one to ever accuse me a child molester.
