BLESS OUR TROOPS * IS JOHN HAGEE THE MOST DANGEROUS PASTOR IN AMERICA?

On the 4th anniversary of the invasion of Iraq, our troops are outstanding heroes. They are doing great things in the world, and in Iraq. They are helping the Iraqi people and the children. They are fighting for each other. And they are doing all this virtually without any leadership, without a Commander in Chief — and certainly in spite of him.

But we must take care of our amazing soldiers; they are our true heroes. They have been betrayed by a despicable, dishonest administration.

Many soldiers are being hired by U.S. contractors at very high salaries to do private security in Iraq. This is very strange. Please comment on this, let us know your thoughts.

IS JOHN HAGEE THE MOST DANGEROUS PASTOR IN AMERICA?

WHY DO JEWS BELIEVE HAGEE IS ON THEIR SIDE? THEY ARE NOT LISTENING.

AIPAC, the pro-Israel lobby in Washington is not aware that Hagee blames the Holocaust on the Jews and wants the annihilation of Israel. Last January 25th, "Citizens United For Israel", founder Texas megachurch Pastor John Hagee, had a group conference call with American Jewish bloggers; he described his new lobbying group, took questions, and advocated an aggressive US and Israel military confrontation with Iran. In a February 9th 2007 blogger conference call, Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promoted similar views. Hagee's evasive answers should have raised a red flag. One blogger asked if, given their end-time beliefs, Hagee's CUFI Christians were really sincere in their support for Israel ; seeming to address another question, Hagee said it is "theologically off the map" to think a man, or men, could influence God's plan. But Hagee has repeatedly called for US and Israeli preemptive military strikes on Iran that he says will spark an allegedly inevitable apocalyptic "end times" conflict and kill most Israeli Jews.

This bizarre fundamentalist "Christian" cult has perplexed me for years. What is wrong with this picture? How does a man such as John Hagee, who calls himself a Christian pastor, completely dismiss Christ's words, deeds and entire purpose?

Here are Christ's words: "Love Your Enemies.... Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God…But I say to you that listen, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. If anyone strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also; and from anyone who takes away your coat do not withhold even your shirt. Give to everyone who begs from you; and if anyone takes away your goods, do not ask for them again. Do to others as you would have them do to you." - Matthew 5:9; Luke 6:27-31

My amazing mom wrote this to me:
"Wouldn't it be great if every single believer would lead by example rather than by preaching? Although Jesus said, "Go into the world and preach the gospel," too many people preach without first preparing themselves in the Love required. I used to think, and still do, that it would be so wonderful if one never ever spoke of one's belief system but instead lived in such a way that people would ask, "What is it that makes you so loving and kind?" Is that a utopian
thought?

No, Mom, it isn't. Fighting our enemies is so archaic, so "B.C."

MORE ON JOHN HAGEE:
Pastor Hagee evaded a blogger's question on whether he seeks to convert Jews to Christianity ; in fact, in early 2006 Hagee's broadcast ministry established a station in Jerusalem to do just that. In the end, Hagee's views are mainstream Christian Zionist : as the final world conflict begins, Christians are "raptured" bodily to physical immortality in Heaven while, back on Earth, fighting centering around Israel kills off most Jews, with a surviving "remnant" converting, in the end, to Christianity. Mr. Hagee says that plainly enough in "Jerusalem Countdown", and perhaps Jews should take time to learn about Mr. Hagee's beliefs ; they might be in for an unpleasant surprise. For example, Pastor Hagee blames Jews themselves for the Holocaust ( see inside ).

"Christians United For Israel" founder Pastor John Hagee spoke, to a standing ovation, at the ongoing American Israel Public Affairs Committee forum in Washington D.C. last night. When not cultivating ties with AIPAC and the American Jewish community, pastor Hagee gives sermons ( such as featured in the YouTube video above ) and somehow also finds time to author many books such as his lastest, "Jerusalem Countdown", in which he blames the Holocaust on Jews. Pastor Hagee is the subject of an ongoing series here at Talk To Action (see inside).
TTA contributor Chip Berlet, Senior Analyst for Political Research Associates, provides some background on the recent history of "New World Order" conspiracism among John Hagee's fellow Christian Zionists such as Tim LaHaye and Pat Robertson in The Age Old Conspiracy

Donohue Softpeddles Hagee's Catholic Bashing

He said: It was the disobedience and rebellion of the Jews, God's chosen people, to their covenantal responsibility to serve only the one true God, Jehovah, that gave rise to the opposition and persecution that they experienced beginning in Canaan and continuing to this very day..."
--Pastor John Hagee, "Jerusalem Countdown," pp. 92-93

It does not necessarily matter to AIPAC if you preach "New World Order/Illuminati" conspiracy theories involving "international bankers," a classic coded anti-Semitic trope. Nor does it necessarily matter to them if the rhetoric you have spewed about the Holocaust sounds like a Christian version of Mahmoud Ahmadenijad. AIPAC doesn't even necessarily care that you've lionized Yigal Amir, the assassin of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. What matters more to AIPAC and its allies -- all that matters perhaps -- is that you back the hardline Israeli government without reservation, support the institutionalized dehumanization of Palestinians and offer crucial moral support for the illegal usurpation of Palestinian land. Oh, and it doesn't hurt that you lust for war with Iran.
