Remember, if the time should come, when you have to make a choice between what is right and what is easy, remember what happened to a boy who was good, and kind, and brave, because he strayed across the path of Lord Voldemort. Remember Cedric Diggory.* - Albus Dumbledore
The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good. — Samuel Johnson, lexicographer (1709-1784)
PALIN'S DOUBLE-SPEAK: PARDON THE TURKEY WHILE KILLING THE TURKEY
I find it very symbolic that Sarah Palin officially pardoned the Thanksgiving turkey while another turkey was beheaded in a meat grinder right behind her ( with blood splattering everywhere) because this is a dead-on reminder of her campaign's lies and double-speak. She speaks with forked-tongue, like the serpent.
Orwellian "double-speak" — you know, like "war is peace?" Certain people lie as casually as they breathe. They deny the truth right to your face, while it's going on right behind them. They can't help it because the truth has a liberal bias. That's why right-wing hate-radio jocks are so frightened of the "Fairness Doctrine." They want to continue spreading lies, while we just want the TRUTH to have equal time on the airwaves. We just want Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Laura Ingraham, Larry Elder, John Gibson to stop lying, smearing and demonizing Democrats all day long. But we forget that this right-wing media infrastructure was set in place 30 years ago, specifically to kill the middle class and turn "liberal" -- one of the most beautiful words in the English language -- into a dirty word.
Now I'm not speaking literally. Obviously I don't mean that Sarah Palin denies she kills turkeys or that she should give a damn about a turkey's life. She's a farm girl and admitted she loves killing animals and endangered species.
But I think the poetic visual is so funny!! Most everything she and her ilk say is the opposite of what they do! This was such a perfect symbol.
