To understand this observation is why I want to stop the radical right wing christians because the slide from what they cry for to what the germans ended up with in the late 30's has more to do with the leader who arises than the philosophy of the transition of religious dogma into codefied law and then practice in the society. I am all for defeating the Islamofacsists when ever and where ever we can, however until the american military crossed the Kuwaiti border Iraq was not such a place, but now it is the primary training ground for their jihad.
There are more than a few in this country that disagree with the radical muslims more on religious dogma that application of the particular dogma. And that is the danger they pose. Also a larger sect of christians would go along because they feel that they would get a christian nation but as in the case of the germans would realise far too late they unwittingly helped promote sometyhing that turned out to be alien to their beliefs, but at that time it would be too late. Hopefully we won't make the same one, but I'm not sure because I see way too many christians willing to throw away the principles of the constitution to create a dominance for the religion that they believe in. It is not their belief that is wrong but the application of the political operations of the state to require adherance of it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9102706.post-1141273618216915862006-03-01T20:26:00.000-08:002006-03-01T20:26:00.000-08:00Do you suggest that all Christians are "fascists" ...Do you suggest that all Christians are "fascists" or just a couple loonies like Robertson and colson?

NO but Robertson, Colson, Fawlell and Dobson et al have a very healthy following somewhere 10-15% of the population.

Do you suggest that there is something in the Bible which supports "fascism",

Yes otherwise it would not be able to be easily used as when taken to extremes as in the sects of David Korish, Jim Jones, White supremacists Christians, like the KKK, the southern attitude toward persons of color until struck down by the activist supreme court which violates the tenants taught by Christ and has led to far more deaths in this country than the islamofascists have been responsible for. Also the nut jobs protesting the military funerals. Or the intolerant attitude taken toward the homosexual persons in this country where the christian right is actually attempting to legistrate their moral biblical views upon the entire nation for this segment of the population, Anti-gay statutes have no legal basis but are moral law codified.

However when people do take the bible to their extreme they violate the basic message of Jesus Christ which is love of your fellow man.

Do you suggest that Christians blindly follow Christ, like Muslims follow Muhammad?

No the fascists in both religions violate the message for their own purposes. But many do not follow Christ very closely, AKA their death penalty, I do not have the right to support the state killing anyone in my name for I am not with out sin so I can not advocate the throwing of the modern stone at the criminal. The Lords Prayer which is the only prayer that is attributed directly to Christ in the bible, has a line that brought me to my current position as to the death penalty;

Forgive me my trustpasses, as I forgive those who have trustpassed against me. There is no way to forgive someone as you are taking their life, I am not against life in prison with out parole for those who deserve it, but the extent as to exactly what day someone is to depart this life is not something that I for one want to put into practice unless ABSOLUTELY necessary and life in prison with out parole makes the death penalty revenge not protection of society. Besides the criminal who is sentencesd to death still deserves as long as God not man desides to work for the salvation of their soul, thus we might be interferring with the work of the Holy spirit in putting someone to death before God would have.

If a Christian abdicates Christianity, what is his penalty?

Many different punishments mostly heavy psychological in nature but physical in more restrictive christian sects especially in regards to children.

In Islam, you get death.

Not always, yes in extreme states like Afghanistan under the Taliban and in Saudi Arabia, but not in all Muslim states at all times, and we western Christians are not as pure as we would believe.

In case you didn't know part of the Muslim faith is rooted in the bible, they claim that all of the bible is true, but Jesus was a prophet not the messiah, and part of the intolerance that is comes from the very same old testament. They use old testament law about adultery as is exemplified by the story of Mary Magdalene as a current prat of the law of Islam and also Hold that violation of the ten commandments is heresy, the crime of the danish cartoon is a violation of one of the commandments about graven images. I am bringing up that the intolerance is not limited to the faith of Islam, it also has shown its ugly head in parts of the christian faith. The United Emirates authorities have recently
detained a number of Mujahideen and handed them over to suppressive
organizations in their country in addition to having a number of them still in its
custody. Undoubtedly, these practices bring the country into a fighting ring in
which it cannot endure or escape from its consequences especially since the
Emirates’ social composition is the most productive, and very explosive.
You are well aware that we have infiltrated your security, censorship, and
monetary agencies along with other agencies that should not be mentioned.
Therefore, we warn of the continuation of practicing such policies, which do not
serve your interests and will only cost you many problems that will place you in
an embarrassing state before your citizens. In addition, it will prove your
agencies’ immobility and failure. Also, we are confident that you are fully
aware that your agencies will not get to the same high level of your American
Lords. Furthermore, your intelligence will not be cleverer than theirs, and your
censorship capabilities are not worth much against what they have reached. In
spite of all this Allah has granted us success to get even with them and harm
them.
However, you are an easier target than them; your homeland is exposed to us.
There are many vital interests that will hurt you if we decided to harm them,
especially, since you relyon shameless tourism in your economical income!!
Finally, our policies are not to operate in your homeland and/or tamper with your
security because we are occupied with others which we consider are enemies of
this nation. If you compel us to do so, we are prepared to postpone our program
for a short period and allocate some time for you.
Therefore, we ask you to release all the Mujahideen detainees since September
incidents and anyone who was detained and suspected of having a connection
with these incidents; otherwise, we will be compelled, with no regret, to change
our policies towards you.
Al-Jihad Qaida OrganizationAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9102706.post-1141251505723279252006-03-01T14:18:00.000-08:002006-03-01T14:18:00.000-08:00Interesting article about john Fund and the neo-co...Interesting article about john Fund and the neo-con influence;

http://howtheneoconsstolefreedom.blogspot.com/2006/02/why-scooter-libby-is-toast-and-rove.htmlAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9102706.post-1141250963691011002006-03-01T14:09:00.000-08:002006-03-01T14:09:00.000-08:00AP Updated: 12:38 p.m. ET March 1, 2006NEW DELHI -...AP Updated: 12:38 p.m. ET March 1, 2006
NEW DELHI - Tens of thousands of Indians waving black and white flags and chanting “Death to Bush!” rallied Wednesday in New Delhi to protest a visit by President Bush.

Surindra Singh Yadav, a senior police officer in charge of crowd control, said as many as 100,000 people, most of them Muslim, had gathered in a fairground in central New Delhi ordinarily used for political rallies.

Bush arrived in India late Wednesday night after a surprise stop in Afghanistan. Bush will spend three days in India, where dozens of protests have been planned by Islamic leaders and communist politicians.

While Bush remains more popular in India than he is in many other countries, some here object to U.S. policies, especially in Iraq and Afghanistan. India, an overwhelmingly Hindu nation of more than 1 billion people, has the world’s second-largest population of Muslims.

On his visit, Bush will see the vast economic and social transformations that many say make India a key global partner for America.

Fords and Chevrolets now compete for space on the streets with auto-rickshaws; young men and women tap away at keyboards, writing software code for American companies.

Angry demonstrations
Wednesday’s protesters carried placards that read: “Bully Bush, Go Home,” and “Death to America, Death to Bush.”

Interesting how he inspires so much trust and goodwill everywhere he goes isnt it. Like Worfeus said, Bush wasnt lying when he said he was a uniter, he is uniting the world against us. What disturbs me the most is that some people associate regular Americans with Bush and The Neo Cons, although from my personal experience that hasnt been the case, as most of the people from other countries that I have come in contact with make a distinction between their disdain for Bush and Co and their opinion of the American People (thank God).

BTW, amazing isnt it that there were 100,000 people protesting because they despise Bush and they said that he is MORE POPULAR there than in other countries, unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08956882396669105125noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9102706.post-1141242129845690162006-03-01T11:42:00.000-08:002006-03-01T11:42:00.000-08:00BTW Worf, that Katherine Harris Doc was unbelievab...BTW Worf, that Katherine Harris Doc was unbelievable, I e-mailed that to all my family that live in Palm Beach County Florida.Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08956882396669105125noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9102706.post-1141241986357724422006-03-01T11:39:00.000-08:002006-03-01T11:39:00.000-08:00Lydia said "EVERYONE -- NEW ALERT: There is a susp...Lydia said "EVERYONE -- NEW ALERT: There is a suspicion, and this may sound wacko -- but the reason Bush so forcefully said he'd veto anyone who usurped the DP deal is because they are blackmailing him about 911. "

Lydia, I don't think its wacco, Worf and I have thought that someone had something on Bush most likely about 9/11 and was blackmailing him to push the port deal through also, in fact after thinking about it that actually seems the more likely scenario. If it was just about money or taking care of his buddies/cronnies, then I think Bush would have supported it from the shadows and had his minions publicly make a case to support it. The fact that he threatened to veto something he later claimed to know nothing about speaks volumes that their is a lot more to this than appears on the surface. the only possible conclusions that I could draw from this are:
1) Bush flat out lied by claiming to know nothing about an issue critical to national security that he felt passionately enough about to use the veto for the first time ever.
2) Bush was willing to blindly veto something involving national security that he really did know nothing about so his cronnies and possibly himself could profit from it.
3) Bush is being blackmailed and was forced to publicly suport this deal or his hoiuse of cards would collapse.

I think the third scenario is the most likely, but it is obvious there is a conflict of interest and perjury taking place, if Bush is lying that he knew nothing about the deal he should be impeached and if he is willing to support something involving national security that he truly knows nothing about so his cronnies can profit, then he should be impeached for incompetence and negligence.

I know FF and other Right Wingers hate conspiracy theories, and I probably am a touch on the paranoid side, but it has served me well, about 60% of the time I have been right and it has saved me from getting blindsided and proven extremely beneficial, more than justifying the 40% of the time I have been wrong. Therefore, even if the UAE deal with our ports would've fell through - don't the laws apply regardless of who owns the ships or the ports in regards to picking one freight container at random on the ship to inspect for possible illegal cargo?

I'm not saying the UAE thing is good at all - I agree it's nuts and only serves as fattening the wallet of Bush even further which MUST BE the case because he's not trying to stop it by conflict of interest or any other good reason.

You know (I don't mean to sound sick nor twisted, but here I go...)when the ships come in to port and blow up and more of our American's are slaughtered immediately in the wake of the blast - I really hope that Bush is safe and secure in his little bomb shelter. Because, when it comes to the aftermath of having that oh so wonderful slow and painful death from the radiation or the biochem that finally got through the ground where he's hiding - maybe then he and his possey will finally realize the truth that money isn't everything!

I hope that if I'm still here when the world comes to an end that I'm right under that bomb when it blows. Oh yeah, I guess they could bring in aircraft carriers
(non-U. S.) to the ports too now right? Or close to our shores...

As for that missing billion dollars - they should've taken that money and gave it to the Katrina victims or at least put that to use to rebuild New Orleans.

That brings up some other things I've been hearing from friends outside of here:

1) the mobile homes that were to
be donated to some of the
families - were actually
destroyed!

2) The people of New Orleans are
still homeless and are still
not getting the help they need.

With that said - it really ticks me off that some cracker-head politician wants to blow a billion dollars on the bridge to Alaska that the people (a population of approximately 500)don't want instead of finding a way to give that very money to New Orleans so they can rebuild their bridge thousands used on a regular basis before it was destroyed.

Ok, I've said my two cents worth. You all ought to buy some stock in Starbucks - they must be on the rise with me going in there on a regular basis to drink up to stay awake after my whopping 3 hours of sleep I'll be getting in a few. lol. Well, I must hand it to them at least they are a social responsible company. :D

Oh, one more thing - for my first assignment in my Business course we had to go to a site and do the National Budget Simulator and it gives you results in the end. I was absolutely amazed at how much money is (or I should say can be) spent on each category - in any case my result was that I reduced the national deficit by $167 billion dollars! The funny thing is I gave increases in a lot of areas including education. Not Bush though - nope I heard he's planning on cutting education by 30%!

If anyone is interested in checking it out for the fun of it -here's the link to the National Defecit Simulator I found:

http://www.nathannewman.org/nbs/shortbudget06.html

Ok, good night - I hope you all have a great day. I'll be the zombie in front of you at Starbucks. :o)

Ciao,
ReneRPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16290473459528347767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9102706.post-1141205595805831822006-03-01T01:33:00.000-08:002006-03-01T01:33:00.000-08:00Freedom fan another christofascist in his own word...Freedom fan another christofascist in his own words....

Charles Colson, former Watergate felon, who spoke at the Spring 2005 meeting on the finer points of the conservative movement's superior moral values and what that means for governing America:

Conservatives work for the common good—how you can promote the common good in society. When I read things in the newspaper these days about--particularly Social Conservatives going and saying, You’ve got to do this for us or else. I cringe. I’m not proud of the trade union movement. I’m not proud of a special interest group. I’m interested in the kingdom of God being exalted in our midst in righteousness. I’m interested in the basic fundamental Conservative values, which is tradition and order and a sense of personal responsibility and religion. And I’m not going to trade those as political pawns in a political game. I know that’s controversial but it needs to be said. [...]
And if the Conservative movement stands for anything it is revealed truth. As a Christian, I believe it’s revealed truth in the Bible. But it’s revealed truth through the natural law; it is revealed truth through the common wisdom of a civilization that has been lived out. [...]

We really believe in the dignity and the responsibility of human beings. We believe it is anchored in their God-given character. We believe human dignity is anchored in God-given character. We believe in the wisdom that has been learned through civilization. We don’t want to cut ourselves off from our past and leave ourselves spinning around in this post-modern vacuum. We believe we’ve learned more from history and from what’s gone on before us and from the great art and great advances of civilization and Western civilization and we want to profit from that for our own good now. We believe in order, because freedom has to flow out of order; [...]

Gertrude Himmelfarb wrote that book, One Nation, Two Cultures. I think she was dead wrong. I don’t how many of you read that book; I thought it was a great, very popular book about five years ago. She said, “We’re always going to have to live with these two cultures.” [...] She was talking about the two different ways of looking at life in our society--two different cultures. And she said they can live side by side in peaceful accord. No they can’t. Because the basic premises that you live by are just totally different. [...]

Russell Hittenger said that the job of government throughout modern history and the biblical job of government is to enforce the common good. The job of government in the last hundred years because of social liberals influenced by Mill is to keep government from enforcing anything on you: free you from the common good. And there can’t be common good anyway because there’s no truth by which you can measure the common good. So the only thing that matters is, you do whatever you want to do and ethics are what Peter Singer says it is: Maximizing pleasure for the most people. It’s a disaster.

[...] Today, the Liberals own the culture. We’ve got a political majority because that’s the way people can express their beliefs, but they still own the culture. The culture is determined today (I could give you case after case after case to prove this)--the culture is determined today by people who basically believe Mill. [Note: Colson is referring to John Stuart Mill, who professed the philosophy of utilitarianism, or the greatest good for the greatest number]. . . So long as they control that culture, our victories in the ballot box aren’t gonna make that much difference. [...]

But we’ve got a much bigger job than that, and that’s why I appeal to you to have a look of a governing majority - how it is that we look at society, not as the naysayers, but as the people who are advancing the cause of human freedom and liberty and human dignity and the rights of individuals in society and a society that is based in revealed truth, not on the ideological propositions of some coffeehouse dreamers. That’s the kind of life an American would want to live in.

comment by Steven D
Mon Feb 27th, 2006 at 05:29:12 PM EST

Ignore for a moment the rank hypocrisy of a man who broke the law repeatedly when he was a powerful figure in the Nixon White House lecturing on the subject of morality and ethics. Consider what he is saying and advocating; that conservatives (and especially religious conservatives) need to stand for restricting freedom, and imposing their morality (specifically, morality as revealed through the Bible) on the rest of us. A liberal society which permits diversity and differences of opinion cannot co-exist with their world view. Only by reimposing order on our people's daily lives (i.e., by eliminating freedoms we currently possess) can we be truly "free." A more cogent example of Orwellian double speak you are unlikely to find anywhere.

And that is also what the Conservative Movement is seeking to implement: No abortion rights. No birth control. No gay rights. Limits on freedom of speech, and limits on what we can read or watch on television. Limits even on the science that can be taught in our schools. Fundamentalist Christian Morality in all its glory.

That, my friends, is a truly scary philosophy. We just rarely see it spoken about so openly by prominent conservative leaders and the Republican politicians who are in their pockets.

article at;

http://www.boomantribune.com/story/2006/2/27/163345/227Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9102706.post-1141204184814986782006-03-01T01:09:00.000-08:002006-03-01T01:09:00.000-08:00Hundreds rally at Indiana Capitol for highway init...Hundreds rally at Indiana Capitol for highway initiative
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Hundreds packed the Statehouse for a rally designed to build momentum for Gov. Mitch Daniels' major highway initiative. Daniels told the crowd that the legislation would fund numerous transportation projects. Opponents say the plan to lease the Indiana Toll Road to a private foreign consortium for $3.85 billion for 75 years would sell a major state asset to companies that will hire nonunion labor at low wages

Bush is not the only one that thinks selling our infrastructure to private foriegn interests, is a good thing.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
