PALE AND PALIN: DUELING VICTIMS? MCCAIN VETOES LOW-INCOME CHILD HEALTH CARE

PALE AND PALIN: DUELING VICTIMS? DON'T BE FOOLED

CAN SARAH PALIN DEBATE JOE BIDEN? Will it be a case of dueling victims? Biden's son Beau is going to Iraq in November; Palin's son goes to Iraq in September. Biden lost his wife and daughter in a car accident and raised his sons alone for years. If the Rovebots use Palin's precious Down Syndrome child as a political maneuver (to show that we must force all women, even rape and incest victims as young as 12, to bring a child into the world against their will, which reeks of fascism is you ask me) then Obama should bring up the S-Chip program and the fact that McCain voted against health care for low-income children 5 years in a row!!! Most Americans could not afford to raise a Down Syndrome child on the McCain health plan.

I have to admit Sarah Palin's story is fascinating: a moose-hunting mother of five, with a special-needs child. God Bless her for being a good mother. But she is pro-gun, pro-NRA, pro-drilling, anti-environment and anti-choice (I refuse to say "pro-life" because anyone who believes it's okay to kill fellow humans in invasion-wars or hunt wild animals — is not pro-life!

And she will never get Hillary's supporters who are mainly women over 50, marginalized by the UNEQUAL pay for equal work agenda of the McCain neocons who voted against the Equal Rights Amendment for decades! I have to wonder if Hillary's supporters are against the ERA and against Choice! Palin shares John McCain’s commitment to overturning Roe v. Wade, the agenda of Big Oil and continuing George Bush’s failed economic policies — that’s not the change we need, it’s more of the same with a vengeance.

Palin is a beautiful former Miss Alaska, or as my radio co-host, Doug Basham puts it, she's a "MILF." But she is pro-BIG OIL and her husband owes his education to BP Offshore Oil Co. that has been trying to increase taxes on oil. London-based BP is heavily involved in the gas pipeline negotiations with his wife's administration. This is a serious conflict of interest.

OBAMA'S MAGNIFICENT NIGHT

Obama has transcended petty partisan politics by uniting us all in a speech that was severe, hard-hitting and transformational. He is a true leader and not a "celebrity." This election is about US: you and me, patriotic Americans joining together against the dark forces of corporate greed, cronyism, oil and war profiteering. Obama is a symbol of the American Dream and of our enlightened nature as a people. No matter what devious political maneuvering McCain and the Rovebots engage in — the TRUTH will win, for the truth has a liberal bias. Obama simply told the truth with strength, passion, empathy and honesty. - Lydia

Obama: 'Don’t tell me Democrats won’t defend this country!'

Obama's Thursday speech, delivered before about 75,000 at the football home of the Denver Broncos, not only topped this past year's Oscars (32 million), but every night of the just-concluded Beijing Games (which, at its best, scored 34.9 million), and last spring's American Idol finale (31.7 million).

Touching on a centrist chord, he said Americans might disagree on issues such as abortion and guns, but they should be able to find a common ground that would reduce unwanted pregnancies and protect the second amendment while keeping AK-47's from criminals.

"He directly addressed a lot of hot-button issues that Democrats usually run away from," said delegate Sam Hagedorn, of Rochester. "It was moving, it was energetic, and it called on us to be better citizens here in America and around the world."

Obama also delivered a lot of the red meat his supporters have been waiting for, reminding people of what he has done, while saying, "John McCain doesn't get it."

MORE DETAILS ON SARAH PALIN'S OIL INTERESTS

Sarah Palin's husband works for BP offshore oil Co. that has been trying to increase taxes on oil...

What a conflict of interest. I am so friggin sick of Republicans who do nothing but raise oil prices. First the Bush and Cheney oil clan, Condaleeza used to be an executive at Shell, and now the VP is a little devil in disguise, whose husband has been giving the green light to do offshore oil drilling in Northern Alaska and who has helped contribute to the rise in oil prices. I guess it really is true that gas will go to $7/gallon with Republicans in office. Wake up! Don't let the economy take a further dive...I don't want to be robbed further by these oil thieves who are driving record inflation.

Todd Palin, who took college courses, but does not have a degree, said he is grateful for the training he received from the multinational oil company BP starting in 1989.

Until recently, he earned hourly wages as a production operator in a BP-run facility that separates oil from gas and water. Palin was making between $100,000 and $120,000 a year before he went on leave in December to make more time for his family and avoid potential conflicts of interest. London-based BP is heavily involved in the gas pipeline negotiations with his wife's administration.

    Absolutely 100% everything here, in the middle east, Georgia, Iraq, Afghanistan, 100% everything from day one of this oil white house is totally about oil but!
    I do think this is going to backfire on McCain! I am sure there is more than just the Commissioner issue!
    I hope Palin being so young and inexperienced next to a guy likely to keel any minute would turn off more voters than those gained because she is a woman! She does not have what it takes to be President no way!
    I think she is ripe for the picking and even if it is only one debate Biden will eat her up. Bring on the debates!
    The rights appeal for dumb Leaders tells you they do not lead they follow. Follow who I don't know but that is why we are in so much trouble today and we can not survive a third stolen election but I still expect this perfect manufactured storm here and around the world that is coming to a head perfectly for Bush to stay in control to come to a head before elections and they will be canceled.
    Most do not know what is going on around the world as MSM is keeping their attention elsewhere!

    If the right thinks stealing a third election and getting McCain in to follow the mess that started with Reagan and little Bush really pushed ahead is in danger then yes I guarantee it! The right has gone to far and the President has too much power to let in our hands.
    I have something the relentless liberal sent me last week to back up what I was saying about the war mongering, McCain, and Georgia. This will blow you away. Please read it you will be stunned and I hope many read it or feel free to pass it on. I will put it on a seperate comment. Take care!

  5. Who is Randy Scheunemann?

    He is the principal foreign policy adviser to John McCain and potential successor to Henry Kissinger and Zbigniew Brzezinski as national security adviser to the president of the United States.

    But Randy Scheunemann has another identity, another role.

    He is a dual loyalist, a foreign agent whose assignment is to get America committed to spilling the blood of her sons for client regimes who have made this moral mercenary a rich man.

    From January 2007 to March 2008, the McCain campaign paid Scheunemann $70,000 pocket change compared to the $290,000 his Orion Strategies banked in those same 15 months from the Georgian regime of Mikheil Saakashvili.

    What were Mikheil's marching orders to Tbilisi's man in Washington? Get Georgia a NATO war guarantee. Get America committed to fight Russia, if necessary, on behalf of Georgia.

    Scheunemann came close to succeeding.

    Had he done so, U.S. soldiers and Marines from Idaho and West Virginia would be killing Russians in the Caucasus, and dying to protect Scheunemann's client, who launched this idiotic war the night of Aug. 7. That people like Scheunemann hire themselves out to put American lives on the line for their clients is a classic corruption of American democracy.

    U.S. backing for his campaign to retrieve his lost provinces is what Saakashvili paid Scheunemann to produce. But why should Americans fight Russians to force 70,000 South Ossetians back into the custody of a regime they detest? Why not let the South Ossetians decide their own future in free elections?

    Not only is the folly of the Bush interventionist policy on display in the Caucasus, so, too, is its manifest incoherence.

    Defense Secretary Robert Gates says we have sought for 45 years to stay out of a shooting war with Russia and we are not going to get into one now. President Bush assured us there will be no U.S. military response to the Russian move into Georgia.

    That is a recognition of, and a bowing to, reality namely, that Russia's control of South Ossetia and Abkhazia and occupation of a strip of Georgia cannot be a casus belli for the United States. We may deplore it, but it cannot justify war with Russia.

    If that be true, and it transparently is, what are McCain, Barack Obama, Bush, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel doing committing the United States and Germany to bringing Georgia into NATO? For that would commit us to war for a cause we have already conceded, by our paralysis, does not justify a war.

    Not only did Scheunemann's two-man lobbying firm receive $730,000 since 2001 to get Georgia a NATO war guarantee, he was paid by Romania and Latvia to do the same. And he succeeded.

    Latvia, a tiny Baltic republic annexed by Joseph Stalin in June 1940 during his pact with Adolf Hitler, was set free at the end of the Cold War. Yet hundreds of thousands of Russians had been moved into Latvia by Stalin, and as Riga served as a base of the Baltic Sea fleet, many Russian naval officers retired there.

    The children and grandchildren of these Russians are Latvian citizens. They are a cause of constant tension with ethnic Letts and of strife with Moscow, which has assumed the role of protector of Russians left behind in the "near abroad" when the Soviet Union broke apart.

    Thanks to the lobbying of Scheunemann and friends, Latvia has been brought into NATO and given a U.S. war guarantee. If Russia intervenes to halt some nasty ethnic violence in Riga, the United States is committed to come in and drive the Russians out.

    This is the situation in which the interventionists have placed our country: committed to go to war for countries and causes that do not justify war, against a Russia that is re-emerging as a great power only to find NATO squatting on her doorstep.

    Scheunemann's resume as a War Party apparatchik is lengthy. He signed the PNAC (Project for the New American Century) letter to President Clinton urging war on Iraq, four years before 9/11. He signed the PNAC ultimatum to Bush, nine days after 9/11, threatening him with political reprisal if he did not go to war against Iraq. He was executive director of the "Committee for the Liberation of Iraq," a propaganda front for Ahmad Chalabi and his pack of liars who deceived us into war.

    Now Scheunemann is the neocon agent in place in McCain's camp.

    The neocons got their war with Iraq. They are pushing for war on Iran. And they are now baiting the Russian Bear.

    Is this what McCain has on offer? Endless war?

    Why would McCain seek foreign policy counsel from the same discredited crowd that has all but destroyed the presidency of George Bush?

    "Against the insidious wiles of foreign influence ... a free people ought to be constantly awake," Washington warned in his Farewell Address. Our Founding Father was warning against the Randy Scheunemanns among us, agents hired by foreign powers to deceive Americans into fighting their wars. And none dare call it treason.

    I have to agree.

    Palin is a ridiculous choice made clearly for only one reason.

    To secure the PUMA votes, and the other disheartened Hilary fans.

    McCain would never have picked a woman like this. It was a move designed to take the Hilary crowd.

    Voting for 4 more years of the same is the most mind numbingly stupid thing to do, and I hope Hilary supporters are smarter than that. If they vote for McCain\Palin, then they deserve to win, and be stuck with McCain for the next 4 years.

    Problem is, the rest of us don't.

    Whole truth time;

    Community organizer in CHICAGO a city of MILLIONS vs a mayor of a whole city of 8,000

    Major league vs little league.

    Hint granny hips TROOPERGATE

    "Senator, ie: one of 100 small cogs in a much larger machine" vs "The Governor of an ENTIRE state"....

    Sitting senator of a large population state vs a governor of a small population state newly elected, because she was LESS corrupt then the rest of them;

    In the November 2004 general election, Obama received 70% of the vote to Keyes's 27%, the largest victory margin for a statewide race in Illinois history. This works out to 3,597,456 votes. Obama got MORE votes in his senate run THEN LIVE in Alaska.

    Palin despite being outspent by her Democratic opponent, she won the gubernatorial election in November, defeating former Governor Tony Knowles 48.3% to 40.9%. This works out to 114,697 votes, Obama got MORE votes out of Chicago then Palin got in all of Alaska.

    "Helped get potholes filled in Chicago" vs "Cleaned up corruption in a state government"....

    Obviously dolty boy don't know sh*t from shinola about community organizing, and what HARD work it is.Barack Obama for years worked with MORE people on the streets of the south suide of chicago then live in the entire SMALL town Palin mismanaged.

    To wit;

    In January 1997, Palin fired the Wasilla police chief and library director. In response, a group of 60 residents calling themselves Concerned Citizens for Wasilla discussed attempting a recall campaign against Palin, but then decided against it. The fired police chief eventually sued Palin on the grounds that he was fired because he supported the campaign of Palin's opponent, but his suit was eventually dismissed when the judge ruled that Palin had the right under state law to fire city employees, even for political reasons.

    In other words another right wing wack job who uses their political office to seek retripution against those they are politically opposed to, ie KKKarl Rove.

    And SHE doesn't have enough experience to be president?

    Hell No she ran a town smaller the size of a unit a Colonel commands in the United States Army.

    I wouldn't want to automatically promote that colonel to CINC because some senile old foole thought it was the ONLY way he could have a chance of winning.

    As for cleaning up corruption she showed herself to be the same extreme brand of right wing nut case Rove has.

    ?Where does that leave Obama?

  18. And dolt even KKKarl argued against the pick of an INEXPERIENCED governor from a small state;

    With all due respect again to Governor Kaine, he’s been a governor for three years, he’s been able but undistinguished. I don’t think people could really name a big, important thing that he’s done. He was mayor of the 105th largest city in America. And again, with all due respect to Richmond, Virginia, it’s smaller than Chula Vista, California; Aurora, Colorado; Mesa or Gilbert, Arizona; north Las Vegas or Henderson, Nevada. It’s not a big town. So if he were to pick Governor Kaine, it would be an intensely political choice where he said, `You know what? I’m really not, first and foremost, concerned with, is this person capable of being president of the United States?

    Rove argues that Kaine’s mayorship of Richmond (pop. 200,000+) is insignificant and that his 3 years as Governor of Virginia (pop. 7,712,091, GDP $383 million) has been “indistinguisahable.” If Rove was intellectually consistent, wouldn’t that mean Palin’s mayorship of Wasilla (pop. 8,000+) and 20 months as Alaska governor (pop. 683,478, GDP $44.5 million) makes her even less qualified than Kaine?

    BTW Tim Kaine doesn't have TROOPERGATE hanging around his neck.

  19. Oh and Dolty boy THIS is gonna come out;

    Cover-up? Alaska Gov. Palin (R) announced she was pregnant. Local rumors suggest she is covering up for her 16 y/o daughter.

    FROM FOUR MONTHS AGO

    On March 5th, 2008 Alaska's Republican Governor, Sarah Palin, announced to the media that she was 7 months pregnant with her 5th child. She is currently 44.

    The controversy arises from two sources: First, Palin does not appear preganant in any recent photographs. The announcement came as quite a shock to people who had worked closely with her, and have been quoted as saying that she did not appear pregnant whatsoever during the prior 7 months. While this is debatable, you can judge for yourself here: http://gov.state.ak.us/photos.php

    Second, Palin's daughter Bristol is 16 and attends an Anchorage high school. Students who have attended class with her report that she has been out of school for months, claiming a prolonged case of mono.

    Apparently, this rumor has made the rounds in the upper echelon of the Alaska legislature, and is a closely guarded secret. As far as I know, this rumor has not been discussed by any media outlets, in Alaska or otherwise.

    The points here are based mostly upon hearsay, and I'm not trying to destroy an innocent family. However, a Republican politician hiding a pregnant teenage daughter seems rather newsworthy.

    and this gem

    Went to school with the daughter in question for a few months, before they moved from Juneau to Anchorage.

    Word on the street was that she snorted diet pills and smoked other such things. I'm pretty sure she did a lot of other things, too.

    This pregnancy rumor has been popping up a lot in our school (well, at least until I graduated last year.) I wouldn't doubt it, either.

    Looks like part of the Jeb Bush family values wing of the right wing of the repubies.

  24. And dolt here is TROOPERGATE from somebody who LIVES in Alaska in an nut shell;

    Sarah Palin’s sister Molly married a guy named Mike Wooten who is an Alaska State Trooper. Mike and Molly had a rocky marriage. When the marriage broke up, there was a bitter custody fight that is still ongoing. During the custody investigation, all sorts of things were brought up about Wooten including the fact that he had illegally shot a moose (yes folks this is Alaska), driven drunk, and used a taser (on the test setting, he reminds us) on his 11-year old stepson, who supposedly had asked to see what it felt like. While Wooten has turned out to be a less than stellar figure, the fact that Palin’s father accompanied him on the infamous moose hunt, and that many of the dozens of charges brought up by the Palin family happened long before they were ever reported smacked of desperate custody fight. Wooten’s story is that he was basically stalked by the family.

    After all this, Wooten was investigated and disciplined on two counts and allowed to kept his position with the troopers. Enter Walt Monegan, Palin’s appointed new chief of the Department of Public Safety and head of the troopers. Monegan was beloved by the troopers, did a bang-up job with minimal funding and suddenly got axed. Palin was out of town and Monegan got “offered another job” (aka fired) with no explanation to Alaskans. Pressure was put on the governor to give details, because rumors started to swirl around the fact that the highly respected Monegan was fired because he refused to fire the aforementioned Mike Wooten. Palin vehemently denied ever talking to Monegan or pressuring Monegan in any way to fire Wooten, or that anyone on her staff did. Over the weeks it has come out that not only was pressure applied, there were literally dozens of conversations in which pressure was applied to fire him. Monegan has testified to this fact, spurring an ongoing investigation by the Alaska state legislature. But, before this investigation got underway, Palin sent the Alaska State Attorney General out to do some investigative work of his own so she could find out in advance what the real investigation was going to find. (No, I’m not making this up). The AG interviewed several people, unbeknownst to the actual appointed investigator or the Legislature! Palin’s investigation of herself uncovered a recorded phone call retained by the Alaska State Troopers from Frank Bailey, a Palin underling, putting pressure on a trooper about the Wooten non-firing. Todd Palin (governor’s husband) even talked to Monegan himself in Palin’s office while she was away. Bailey is now on paid administrative leave.

    As if this weren’t enough, Monegan’s appointed replacement Chuck Kopp, turns out to have been the center of his own little scandal. He received a letter of reprimand and was reassigned after sexual harrassment allegations by a former coworker who didn’t like all the unwanted kissing and hugging in the office. Was he vetted? Obviously not. When he was questioned about all this, his comment was that no one had asked him and he thought they all knew. Kopp, defiant, still claimed to have done nothing wrong and said to the press that there was no way he was stepping down from his new position. Twenty four hours later, he stepped down. Later it was uncovered that he received a $10,000 severance package for his two weeks on the job from Palin. Monegan got nothing.

    And your "whole city thingy"?

    He covers that also;

    Before her meteoric rise to political success as governor, just two short years ago Sarah Palin was the mayor of Wasilla. I had a good chuckle at MSN.com’s claim that she had been the mayor of “Wasilla City”. It is not a city. Just Wasilla. Wasilla is the heart of the Alaska “Bible belt” and Sarah was raised amongst the tribe that believes creationism should be taught in our public schools, homosexuality is a sin, and life begins at conception. She’s a gun-toting, hang ‘em high conservative. Remember…this is where her approval ratings come from. There is no doubt that McCain again is making a strategic choice to appeal to a particular demographic - fundamentalist right-wing gun-owning Christians. And Republican bloggers are already gushing about how she has ‘more executive experience’ than Obama does! Above is a picture of lovely downtown Wasilla, for those of you unfamiliar with the area. Behind the Mug-Shot Saloon (the first bar I visited when I moved to Alaska long ago) is a little strip mall. There are street signs in Wasilla with bullet holes in them. Wasilla has a population of about 5500 people, and 1979 occupied housing units. This is where your potential Vice President was two short years ago. Can you imagine her negotiating a nuclear non-proliferation treaty? Discussing foreign policy? Understanding non-Alaskan issues? Frankly, I don’t even know if she’s ever been out of the country. She may ‘get’ Alaska, but there are only a half a million people here. Don’t get me wrong….I love Alaska with all my heart. I’m just saying.

  26. Here's another one dolt;

    Local Reaction to the Palin Bombshell.

    I, like all Alaskans, have been glued to the news media today, watching with amazement as Sarah Palin was tagged as McCain’s vice presidential running mate. Local radio talk shows are all a-buzz. The progressive station has a mixture of callers who are amused, horrified, and bewildered. The conservative station has a mixture of callers who are amused, enthusiastic, horrified and bewildered. No one is really sure how this happened, or what to make of it. Citing the fact that she was the mayor of Wasilla 2 years ago in her list of “executive experience” doesn’t even pass the giggle test in Alaska. Palin does have many supporters here in the state, but even many of them are doubting whether she can cut it in the Veep slot. A few callers have said they feel sorry for her, because they like her but she’s obviously being “used” and is way over her head. Local politicians are fiercely divided. Those who like her are generally appointees who are locally referred to as “Palin-bots” and have drawn comparisons to George Bush’s idealogical croneys. Many, Democrats and Republicans, are fierce opponents.

    Alaska State Senate President Lyda Green (R): “She’s not prepared to be governor. How can she be prepared to be vice president or president? Look at what she’s done to this state. What would she do to the nation?” (Green is from Palin’s home town of Wasilla.)

    Notice the R dolt,

    That means a republican who leads the Alaskan State Senate doesn't think she is qualifies to be Vice President of the entire country a heart beat away from staring Putin down ..............

  30. Another RINGING endorsement by a person who LIVES in Alaska and knows something about her beside she has a set of ovaries and wants creationism taught in school;

    Sarah Palin? McCain’s Next Trophy Girl?

    Well, this Alaskan is sitting here in disbelief. This is a total gift to the Obama - Biden ticket. As the nation scrambles to figure out who Sarah Palin IS, the thinking people of Alaska are simply mystified. I’ll be posting about this a lot later in the day after I’m awake, (it’s early a.m. here in Alaska) but first impressions:

    This woman is going to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency? 2 years ago she was mayor of Wasilla, Alaska. For those of you out of state, this is as small, and backwoods as it sounds. A dark horse candidate for governor, she was elected on the ‘anybody but Frank Murkowski’ ticket. Our previous governor went down hard in his primary bid for reelection, because basically he was the worst governor, ever. People questioned whether Sarah Palin was actually qualified to be governor of a state that has 1/2 a million people in it.

    McCain obviously is looking for the Hillary vote since apparently he thinks women need no other criteria than a set of ovaries to mark their ballot, right? I mean women don’t actually make policy decisions, do they?

    He’s also looking for the Evangelical vote. Palin, a creationist, anti-gay, pro-lifer will appeal to this crowd. Her fondness for creationism in schools, and the recent birth of a Downs Syndrome child can’t hurt here.

    Did I say recent birth of a child? Why, yes. Our new Vice Presidential candidate has four children plus an infant son. She obviously feels caring for her newborn won’t get in the way of her Vice Presidential duties.

    And don’t worry fellas. There’s plenty for you. Sarah won second place in the Miss Alaska contest! Didn’t they have a card for that in Monopoly? And John McCain knows how important it is to have a trophy wife Veep on his arm.

    John McCain has just done something that Obama has not been able to do yet - prove to the world unequivocably that McCain doesn’t have the judgement to be President. He will never ever be able to hold his head up and say that Obama isn’t “ready to lead”.

    The pro-drilling crowd will be pleased too. Why she’s even sueing the Federal Government for daring to suggest that polar bears should be listed as ‘threatened’. Can’t have those damned bears interfering with the oil rigs.

    And then there’s that annoying little ethics investigation by the Alaska State Legislature…

    I think I’ll be chuckling all weekend over this. More to come later. There’s just so much fodder here. Where’s a blogger to start?

    Damn dolt, you right wing clowns better tell the corporate owned McSame cheerleadin' MSM Not to ask any average Alaskan what they think,

    The cognitive dissonance in the Faux Noise buildings would be historic and that is saying a heck of a lot.

    Evangelical Christianity ignores science, logic, reason, and even most Christian concepts in favor of some unnatural absorition with events from the Torah.

    John Ashcroft, the guy who decided the statue of blind justice was too pornographic so he had it covered with a sheet, was also an evangelical. In fact, he was a Pentacostal, the craziest of the evangelicals, who think they can speak in tongues because God enters their bodies in meetings. I have no problem mind you with people accepting such primitive beliefs but I do have a problem putting such a person in charge of 7500 Nuclear Missles.

    Sara Palin, is the worst possible choice McCain could have made. She is the Harriet Myers of the 08 election.

    The deployment of a military base on the Island of Qeshm would allow Russia to monitor the United States' and NATO's activities in the Persian Gulf zone, Iraq and other Arab states. With the help of special equipment Russia could effectively monitor who is sailing toward this sea bottleneck, from where, and with what cargo on board to enter the World Ocean or to return.

    For the first time ever Russia will have a possibility to stop suspicious vessels and ships and inspect their cargo, which the Americans have been cynically doing in that zone for many decades. In exchange for the deployment of its military bases Russia could help the Iranians to deploy modern air defense and missile defense systems along the perimeter of its borders. Tehran, for instance, needs Russia's modern S-400 SAMs.

    That would make things very interesting in the straights of Hormuz, because if the Russian refuse to allow ships to pass with out searching them and a US Naval Air craft carrier wants to go through the straights, who blinks first?

  77. The gestapo tactics have started in Milwaukee,

    Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher released a statement Saturday morning about the raid:

    “This investigation pertains to actions of the RNC Welcoming Committee. The “Welcoming Committee” is a criminal enterprise made up of 35 self- described anarchists who are intent on committing criminal acts before and during the Republican National Convention. These acts include tactics to blockade and disable delegate buses, breaching venue security and injuring police officers. They have recruited assistance in their criminal conspiracy from other anarchists groups throughout the country. Through their plans and actions they have exhibited a blatant disregard for the law and the safety of others.”

    So because a sheriff THINKS somebody might break the law he violates their fourth amendment rights and raids their private residence.

    Glenn Greenwald, with video:

    Protestors here in Minneapolis have been targeted by a series of highly intimidating, sweeping police raids across the city, involving teams of 25-30 officers in riot gear, with semi-automatic weapons drawn, entering homes of those suspected of planning protests, handcuffing and forcing them to lay on the floor, while law enforcement officers searched the homes, seizing computers, journals, and political pamphlets. Last night, members of the St. Paul police department and the Ramsey County sheriff's department handcuffed, photographed, and detained dozens of people meeting at a public venue to plan a demonstration, charging them with no crime other than "fire code violations," and early this morning, the Sheriff's department sent teams of officers into at least four Minneapolis area homes where suspected protesters were staying…

    No crime committed BUT SWAT tactics used, because people disagree politically with the extreme right wing republican party,

    Welcome to what the extreme right wing republicans want to do to ALL of America, because they can't win fairly and their tired discredited ideology has been shown for the morally bankrupt fraud it has always been

  94. Looks like TROOPERGATE is heating up on the national stage;

    Exclusive: Chief Fired by Palin Speaks Out

    The July firing of Alaska Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan by Gov. Sarah Palin, who was announced as John McCain's running mate on Friday, has unearthed a stream of soap-opera-like details about Palin, her husband, her family and top state appointees. The controversy has also cut against Palin's reputation for holding an ethical line and standing up to colleagues in the Republican Party over matters of principle.

    Monegan, 57, a respected former chief of the Anchorage Police Department, said in an interview with The Washington Post's James V. Grimaldi on Friday that the governor repeatedly brought up the topic of her ex-brother-in-law, Michael Wooten, after Monegan became the state's commissioner of public safety in December 2006. Palin's husband, Todd, met with Monegan and presented a dossier of information about Wooten, who was going through a bitter custody battle with Palin's sister, Molly. Monegan also said Sarah Palin sent him e-mails on the subject, but Monegan declined to disclose them, saying he planned to give them to a legislative investigator looking into the matter.

    Palin initially denied that she or anyone in her administration had ever pressured Monegan to fire the trooper, but this summer acknowledged more than a half a dozen contacts over the matter, including one phone call from a Palin administration official to a state police lieutenant. The call was recorded and was released by Palin's office this month. Todd Palin told a television reporter in Alaska that he did meet with Monegan, but said he was just "informing" Monegan about the issue, not exerting pressure.

    "She never directly asked me to fire him," Monegan said.

    But he said Todd Palin told him Wooten "shouldn't be a trooper. I've tried to explain to him, you can't head hunt like this. What you need to do is back off, because if the trooper does make a mistake, and it is a terminable offense, it can look like political interference.

    "I think he's emotionally committed in trying to see that his former brother-in-law is punished."

    The allegation against Palin, "undercuts one of the points they are making that she is an ethical reformer," said Democratic state Sen. Hollis French, who is managing a $100,000 investigation into the firing of Walter Monegan.

    Shades of Nixon maybe?

  104. The McCain camp is claiming they thoroughly vetted Sarah Palin;

    Why then do most of the top Republicans in Alaska claim they never were asked about the sitting gov of their state?

    Former House Speaker Gail Phillips, a Republican political leader who has clashed with Palin in the past, was shocked when she heard the news Friday morning with her husband, Walt.

    "I said to Walt, 'This can't be happening, because his advance team didn't come to Alaska to check her out," Phillips said.

    Phillips has been active in the Ted Stevens re-election steering committee and remains in close touch with Sen. Lisa Murkowski and other party leaders, and she said nobody had heard anything about McCain's people doing research on his prospective running mate.

    "We're not a very big state. People I talk to would have heard something."

    Could the republicans in Alaska Sarah Palin tried to run rough shod over in her rapid rise to power be the ones who end up spreading the truth about her?

    Could St Johnny of Hanoi be the trying a cute political trick, only to have it backfire in ways they never investigated?

    Karma is rolling on the floor laughing her ass off on this one ........

  105. Wanna see how the reptilian mind of the kool aid drinkers on the right wing of the repubie party actually works?

    Well here is a very good example;

    RNC mulls Limbaugh abortion Obama jab

    The e-mail, which was sent to RNC Communications Director Danny Diaz, and mistakenly to a Tribune reporter, was titled "wow...good YouTube potential..."

    The rest of it reads:

    "Rush, just now imagining a series of questions that Obama can ask Palin, if they ever meet:

    One about how to shoot a gun...
    One about do you bait your hooks when you go fishing?

    And then, this (paraphrase):
    "when you learned that you were going to have a Down Syndrome baby, did you consider aborting it, before or after the due date?""

    Here's a PDF of the e-mail: RNC email

    Yes Rush the drug addict makes sh*t up, and the RNC tried to pass it off as a form of truth, which they could oput on tube, for fake news to accidently find and play on the air, which then will get repeated over and over again on fake noise, until they claim it is true.

    The only reason they got caught is some cretin hired by the RNC can't work the email on the tubes very well.

    Other wise that ad would be makin' the rounds, so fake noise could spin it into their version of reality.

    That is essentially how the Obama birth certificate non story got started and pushed, and pushed, and pushed ad nausea, same for the fake madrassa story.

    ReplyDelete
  106. McCain's fake smiling face makes me sick. He is an ass hole!
    WHY Didn't McCain make the Announcement in Alaska- HER home state. And then reading her story, some things did NOT make sense.
    Like that she was Pregnant and No One she worked with Knew she was pregnant ? And that she Flew HOME from Texas, and she was OVER 7 Months Pregnant and her water Broke ? what a coincidence they kept their daughter out of school for almost 8 months! I don't care how dedicated you are who the hell does that? How is it she went back to work so quickly with a special need baby? I mean come on get real!

    The more I hear about her the more concerned I get. I heard a rumor that her daughter was pregnant and she was hiding it. That makes sense to another story I heard that her water broke in Texas and she flew home to give birth. Now it makes more sense when you hear that baby is her daughters. No wonder she was back on the trail in two or three days!
    This woman is a proven liar willing to fire everyone that disagrees with her and does not do her bidding. Whether she is a Woman or not she is more of the same and we are in trouble if these monkeys steal another one!

    Palin said in a mispeak that she had 4 kids not 5. She is not the Mother of that Baby her daughter is. She is the grandmother.

    ReplyDelete
  107. I agree with you AP there is something weird going on here.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Also, did you hear about the RNC gestapo tactics toward the protesters in St. Paul?

    ReplyDelete
  109. I don't remember who has been posting on it but someone has! They have been raiding houses at gunpoint of potential protesters.
    I do have an article on the gestapo attacking the protesters head quarters also at gun point. This police state strong arming sickens me.
    As it turns out Republicans themselves will be scarce thanks to Gustav. They are not smart enough to but they should take Gustav as an omen!
    Anyway the plan was to arrest all the protesters and say see people agree with what we do. Hell it worked for China!

    ReplyDelete

    McCain/Palin = The Bridge To Nowhere

    Brutally arresting little girls for writing on the sidewalk with chalk even AFTER they had gotten permission?

    Shoving a ABC reporter into traffic?

    ReplyDelete
  112. Interesting that Clif is now siding with corrupt Republican politians who might just be a tad bitter because Palin had them kicked to the curb for their corruption...

    ReplyDelete
  113. No dolt I am questioning how the repubies cow towing to McInsanes delusions didn't find the time to ask some of the other republicans leadership in Alaska what they though of their gov?

    You'd a thunk they would have to keep stories like the State Senate republican president asking;

    “She’s not prepared to be governor. How can she be prepared to be vice president or president? Look at what she’s done to this state. What would she do to the nation?” (Green is from Palin’s home town of Wasilla.)

    or this one;

    Alaska State Representative Mike Doogan (D): “Either Sarah Palin has talents and skills we were not aware of”, or “John McCain fell down and hit his head”. He also called the prospect of Palin potentially needing to take over as President”pretty scary.”

    Wanna know something real funny dolt, they never check with her HOMETOWN news paper either son.

    I can't wait for democratic oppo research to check what McCain's Losers missed.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Like her abuse of office firing the police chief and librarian just because they used their right to support somebody in an election.

    Wanna bet more of that style of mis-management is found?

    ReplyDelete
  115. But keep pushin' the Dan Quayle in a skirt pick, dolt.

    It is too funny after all your bloviating about Obama's supposed lack of experience and capabilities for office even though tens of millions disagree with ya ..... and voted for Obama.

    So far St Johnny of Hanoi is the only one who voted for Peggy Hill look alike pick .

    ReplyDelete
  116. BTW foole the ONLY one kicked to the curb was Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan, because he followed the law and refused to illegally fire a state trooper in a bitter divorce battle with Sarah Palin's sister, Molly McCann. Sarah palin tried to use her position as governour to force the firing and when Monegan refused , Gov Palin Fired Monegan instead which started the Troopergate investigation.

    As for being so against the normal political trickery of the republican party, she isn't;

    In 2006, Ketchikan's Gravina Island Bridge,

    known outside the state as the "Bridge to Nowhere",

    became an issue in the gubernatorial campaign.

    Palin initially expressed support for the bridge and ran on a "build-the-bridge" platform,

    but later decided to use the bridge funds for other projects.

    In other words

    She was for it before she was against it.

    Used the money for HER pet projects instead of Ted Stevens or Don Young's favorite pet projects to waste US tax payers money. typical right wing republican and nothing more.

    Too bad her record don't even come close to the stoopid right wing hype about her, when the US voters get a real good look they are gonna reject her and st johnny of Hanoi's judgment for picking her.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Oh, was that the "state trooper" who illegally killed a Moose and Tazered his own step son?

    ReplyDelete
  118. Well according to the INVESTIGATOR who did the job of checking allegations by the Palin family, (yes all the allegations are from Sarah Palin's family to help her sister), he wasn't fired but punished, however the gov Was happy so she tried illegally to force somebody yo break the LAW and fire him because she wanted it.

    Seems you are for abuse of power at the federal level like Bush ET Al have done and at the state level like she has done.

    I bet you got NO problem with the republican sheriff in Milwaukee breaking the US constitution with his illegal searches too eh dolt?

    I guess it's alright if a republican does it eh dolt?

    2) And Wooten's stepson ASKED Wooten to Taser him on test mode.

    I've asked friends and coworkers to taser/Mace/Pepper spray me to see what its like and they werent arrested.

    Its Funny that its only the people that are Tasered, bludgeoned, maced, pepper sprayed and arrested unjustly against their will that you support.......like the ones at the RNC...........while the ones that ASK for it only provoke outrage because its politically convienient.

  127. BTW, did you know Sarah Palin used to be a member of the Alaskan Independence party?

    To wit;

    The Vice Chairman of the AIP, Dexter Clark, says this of Palin: "Our current governor who I mentioned at the last conference, the one we were hoping would get elected, Sarah Palin, did get elected . . . .and there was a lot of talk about her moving up. She was an AIP member before she got the job as mayor . . . "

    A secessionist party who wants Alaska to secede from the United States?

    So at the same time she was supporting a Nazi lover, Pat Buchanan for president she wanted Alaska to secede from the United states, and she is the best st Johnny of Hanoi could find?

    Oh right he don't worry about it because he was a POW.

    She just might not want the people in the lower 48 to know about her activities from the early 1990's but too bad she will be exposed for the light weight fraud she is, and St Johnny of Hanoi as the clueless wrinkled white hair old guy who stumbles and bumbles a lot lately.

  129. This interesting little tidbit just came over the AP

    ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Sarah and Todd Palin say their 17-year-old unmarried daughter is pregnant.

    The couple said in a statement released by John McCain's presidential campaign that Bristol will keep her baby.

    Sarah Palin is McCain's vice presidential running mate.

    The Alaska governor says Bristol intends to marry the father of her child.

    She and the campaign also are asking that the media respect the family's privacy on this matter.

    ReplyDelete
  130. I just heard Palin say her Daughter is pregnant. I would be interested in what everyone thinks now? I still think her Daughter is the Mother of the other child. Palin wants her privacy! Man something stinks! Sounds like a cover up!

    ReplyDelete
  131. Well Voltron my dear, since you posted a picture of me, it would only be fair to returm the favor Voltron you frickin troglodyte.

    ReplyDelete
  132. The timing isnt right. The youngest was born in April. The daughter is 5 months pregnant. She would have had to leap from the delivery room into the bedroom for Trig to be her baby.

    Besides, we really need to not do that. Never mind the fact that the Redumblicans politicize everything and as far as they're concerned nothing is off limts -- we'll just get smeared for doing the same. We need to leave the daughter alone. Besides, rest assured the closed-minded-judgemental idiots are going to be staying home this November. They weren't keen on voting for McCain anyway and this will further erode their opinions.

    However what I DO think a legitimate point to question is Palin's priorities. Would you trust the judgement of a mother with a special needs child (and I know from experience special needs requires extra attention) and an older child who is in a very scary period of life and probably needs her mother very much right now and decides to tell them all to wait a few months while she runs around the country campaigning?

  134. Oh sure, not disputing that it could be the case. I'm just saying it probably isnt. Besides, in all honesty, what does it matter? Again, the daughter of the GILF (G for Grandma) isnt the one we have issues with -- most of us have been there and done that or our loved ones have. Im not going to pass judgement on a daughter for having premarital sex ... one of the truths of life is for as long as there has been marriage there has been premarital sex. I just think Palin needs to get her priorities straight.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Well,well,well, ......

    Sarah Palin HIRES a lawyer in TROOPERGATE;

    From the AP:

    Anchorage attorney Thomas V. Van Flein has requested a copy of all witness statements and documentary evidence from the Legislature's investigator, Stephen Branchflower. Sen. Hollis French, an Anchorage Democrat, says he instructed Branchflower not to comply with the request.

    Next she will be droppin' out of the race to spend more time with her family ...

    ReplyDelete
  139. With all the bluster about how much Sarah Palin will even the race, here are the polls;

    CBS Obama 48% McCain 40%

    Rasmussen Obama 47% McCain 44%

    And Gallop Obama 49% McCain 43%

    Fivethirtyeight has the electorial college at

    Obama 298 McCain 240;
    It seems that Obama-Biden got a bump McCain-Palin didn't especially with mother nature raining all over their convention.

  143. On the same day that the Republicans were forced to dramatically cut back their convention activities, the Palin Meltdown unfolded with extraordinary speed. It's worth pondering the totality of what happened today, in a mere half day...

    * The news that Palin once backed the Bridge to Nowhere went national.

    * It emerged that Palin has links? to the bizarro Alaska Independence Party, which harbors the goal of seceding from the union that McCain and Palin seek to lead.

    * The news broke that as governor, Palin relied on an earmark system she now opposes. Taken along with the Bridge to Nowhere stuff, this threatens to undercut her reformist image, something that was key to her selection as McCain's Veep candidate.

    * The news broke that Palin's 17-year-old daughter became pregnant out of wedlock at a time when the conservative base had finally started rallying behind McCain's candidacy.

    * Barely moments after McCain advisers put out word that McCain had known of Bristol Palin's pregnancy, the Anchorage Daily News revealed that Palin's own spokesperson hadn't known about it only two days ago.

    * A senior McCain adviser at the Republican convention was forced into the rather embarrassing position of arguing that McCain had known about the pregnancy "last week" -- without saying what day last week he knew about it.

    * It came out that Republican lawyers are up in Alaska vetting Palin -- now, more than 72 hours after it was announced that she'd been picked.

    * Palin lawyered up in relation to the trooper-gate probe in Alaska -- a move that ensures far more serious attention to the story from the major news orgs.

    What else will come out today? After all, there are still six hours left until September 2nd...

    St Johnny of Hanoi says he vetted her?

    Sarah Palin's mother-in-law told the New York Daily News that she isn't sure who she'll vote for this November. "I'm not sure what she brings to the ticket other than she's a woman and a conservative," said Faye Palin. "Well, she's a better speaker than McCain."

    That will make for fun family get togethers.

    How about paling? I am sure he is lying but McCain says he knew about the daughter! This morning on the radio they were talking about it saying it is no big deal and swarms of Repug lawyers were going to Alaska to fight charges in trooper gate.
    Also she was being investigated for firing the police chief who did not agree with her politically. Then the guy said it doesn't bother me that she hid her husband's DUI from 20 years ago or that her Mother in law does not know who she is going to vote for yet because she does not think Palin is qualified.
    The issue to him is that she was a member of a secessionist movement until 1994 to have Alaska break away from the US. Again my question is what the hell is next?

    I'd like to see all you arrogant rude people in a room together, and watch as the realization that you didn't have a computer screen to hide behind set in.

    See how mouthy you'd be when you were face to face with your victims.

    It doesn't matter which party you vote for.

    You're all pricks.

    Interesting.

    Say, just as I thought the dhimmis might stand a chance with the empty suit, McCain seals the deal with the gorgeous arch-Conservative babe.

    The PUMAs are absolutely gaga over Palin. Obama who? Bwahahaha.

  185. Did anyone see the video of Governor Palin addressing her church, the "Wasilla Assembly of God", “Governor” Palin, is standing before this church in her own district, preaching the Iraq war is a “task from God”.

    The obvious mingling of Church and State aside, she is claiming that “GOD” didn’t know whether there was WMD in Iraq?

    God thought Iraq had something to do with 911?

    :|

    Well, most Theists do tend to believe that they are made in the image of their God, so I guess we shouldn’t be too surprised that Gov. (Pastor) Palin’s defense for the war in Iraq has now come full circle to “God is stupid”.

    As stupid as the neocons.

    :|

    Wonder how that’s gonna look on a bumper sticker?

  187. I know the MSM is focusing on Palin's daughter being knocked up............But the thing people SHOULD be looking at is Palin just lawyered up for the corruption and abuse of power charges......you DONT get a Lawyer UNLESS the charges against you are substantive and have weight.

  190. Palin is the worst possible candidate for anything higher than Prom Queen.

    She is a rube. She worships the slaughter of animals as sport, and preaches of war being a "task from God".

    She is the lamest possible choice McCain could have made, and she is an embarrasment to us all.

    I dont know that's necessarily true. The purpose of a lawyer is to defend or state the case. If I were accused of anything more serious than a traffic ticket, I would certainly hire a lawyer to look into it for me and preferably do most of the talking for me. Palin is one of those rare politicians who make it to those upper levels without having been a lawyer first so it really is new territory for her. Besides, there's likely to be a lot of research required and her schedule is pretty full.

    I'm not defending her, dont get me wrong, but let's not presume guilt by the basis of her getting a lawyer. That was actually one of the smartest things she could have done.

  192. The remark about keeping AK-47s out of the hands of criminals is disingenuous. Criminals almost never use this weapon when committing their deeds, or any other "assault weapon" for that matter. In fact, the only weapon of this class to make the top 20 of preferred firearms for criminals at the time of the 1994 ban was the Tec-9 submachinegun. Portable handguns are the preferred tools of the trade for criminals.

    Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Hamilton, Patrick Henry, Sam Adams, and almost all of the other "Founding Fathers" of the USA disagreed on most issues. However, they all agreed that the government must never infringe upon the right of citizens to possess firearms. Time and time again they reiterated these views in print and in public speeches, including James Madison, the man who actually WROTE the Second Amendment.

    As one Constitutional scholar once quipped, the Founders of the Republic "out-NRA'ed the NRA" when they drafted the gun-rights amendment to the Constitution. If politicians think firearms are so bad that they should be banned, they should have that amendment legally repealed according to the paramaters outlined in the Constitution, then start by disarming their own Secret Service agents, Capitol Police officers, state troopers, and other Praetorian Guards. If common citizens are not entitled to defend themselves, neither are their political leaders.

  194. MCH, i'm NOT disagreeing with what you wrote............But i've worked for MANY law firms and been involved in MANY internal affairs investigations at both the city and state level..........you just DONT get a lawyer if you KNOW the charges against you are bogus and wont go anywhere.............you ONLY get a lawyer when you know or think the charges against you are substantive enough that you NEED the protection of a lawyer.

    Obviously Palin knows there is enough evidence out there that the charges wont likely be dismissed and a lawyer is warranted.

    ReplyDelete
  195. A lawyer is not neccessarily an admission of guilt.........but it is usually an admission the prosecution has a serious case and enough substantive evidence that you NEED to WORRY about PROVING your innocence.
